I had been told by a New Balance store person that the NB1080 v12 didn't have the bootie feel with the elastic inside on this latest model. ut it did! This feature is not good for a high arch. Also the shoe seemed to rum HUGE I've always taken an 8 in new Balance shoes especially in other 1080 versions. So I don't understand what happened here

Was gonna use for running, keeps hitting my side ankle bone and cut it open. I used inserts but was elevated to high to run. First time having issues w Nb , previous shoes had no issues.

Toe box is smaller. Every time I buy a new version I swear they make them smaller. Hard to find 16xwides and I found it with V11 but not v12.

These shoes remind me of the time when I had to wear my dad's suit to grade 8 grad- It sort of fit but didn't feel comfortable, I hated wearing it, and it looked stupid. The uppers have a bunch of extra room, so you either need to cinch them tight til the fabric overalps or wear wool socks.

I purchased these two months ago. Have run less than 50 miles and the toe box/bumper on both shoes are buckling inward and pressing in on both big toes (and I purchased the wide). Very hard, and very painful. Do not reform and makes the shoes unwearable. Would not recommend for purchase.

Walking produced toe discomfort due to the shallow toe box of the size 14 shoes. Sent them back.

I really liked the sneakers but they were to big and don't run true to size. So I returned them.

I have another pair of the same shoes in a different color that I liked very much, so I bought this pair. Unfortunately this pair (same size, different color) gives me blisters on the inside lateral portion of the ball of the foot after about three miles of running. It seems to be where the insole meets the side of the shoe, which leads me to believe either the insole is cut differently or the shoe width itself is different. Bummer, because I really liked the previous pair. This is meant as my slow, easy run shoe so I can't use it for that as those runs are longer than 8 miles and I can't use them for up-tempo stuff because they're bulky/heavy and not right for that so...bummer. I run 25-35 miles per week and I put 22 miles on these shoes before commenting on them.

I use these shoes for walking only. I am 65 years old and I walk 20 to 30 miles a week. My previous shoes were New Balance 880's and I walked about 470 miles in them and they are still more comfortable than these more expensive 1080 V12.

Returned - the 8mm drop in the heel doesn't work for me. Going to stay with the 990v 4/5 which offers the support I need.

The heel counter is an improvement from the v11s, but I feel as if there's more to be desired here. The shoe runs hot and doesn't have the same pep that they had in previous versions.

I walk for about an hour each morning. I wore out the soles of the shoes in the toe area, I have only had the shoes about 2 months.

I've been running in the 1080 since V6. I've liked most versions; but not this one. I was fitted at a national chain running store for size 11.5 D, which has been my size for decades. In the 1080 V12, I like that they changed the heel counter (I don't notice any heel slippage) and the toe box is wider than V10 and V11. I don't like that the throat of the shoe is wider and I have to tighten the laces to the point that the upper material folds over itself. Also, they reinforced the two eyelets near the tongue with plastic and this causes an uncomfortable pressure on the upper part of my foot. But this pressure could be the result of me having to tie the laces tighter than usual. Lastly, the Fresh Foam X felt great at first with high, responsive cushion. However, after only 80-85 miles, the shoes feel dead. I have even recently noticed the bottoms of my feet feeling sore after my last two runs of 5 miles each. In my opinion, this shoe is not worth the price, especially considering the increase in price. (I weigh 165 lbs. and run 15-17 miles a week on a "rails to trails" trail made of crushed limestone.)

I do like the upper but for some reason I get numb toes. I would return them but I've worn them for a 12 mile run so looks like these will sit in my closet.

The added sole girth and heel cup do little to improve the feeling and function of the shoe, other than add grams of unneeded weight. I rather enjoy the V11 heel, and was dismayed at the changes they made in the V12. Other reviews suggest that the V12 runs slightly wider than the V11. I did not find this to be the case. I have been training in the 1080s since V5, and I have always been a 13 wide. I listened to the reviews and got a 13 normal in the V12s, and they were noticeable tighter. These fit the same as the previous 1080s. I will be buying several V11s whilst they're available and hope they revert the changes to the heel and sole in the V13s.

I have run in NB almost exclusively for the better part of 3 years now. I have run many half marathons in older versions of the 1080 and 880 series shoes and each pair seems to be getting worse. The 1080v9 is what turned me into a NB fan, but this pair has more than likely converted me to a competitor. The shoe runs large, I even went half a size down and it is still long and especially wide. No matter how tight I lace the shoes my feet always slide and rub in these shoes. They do not have the cushion past 1080s have had and still somehow seem too disconnected from the road and provide very little road feedback. They do not breathe well and make my foot noticeably warmer than my last pair of NB running shoes. Overall these shoes leave me disappointed at the price tag and the product.

This shoe is VERY poorly designed. The tongue is very firmly attached to a strap on only 1 side BUT it does not have any stretch to it. 2 different people tried on this show with the same result. The tongue absolutely will no go on the top of your arch stubbornly insists on being at a 45* angle to the side.

Got two pairs. One is fine and the other feels completely different. Both 1080v12 but one no matter what still is hurting my feet. New Balance didn’t care since I bought them from Zappos. Two of the same shoes in different colors should not fit so differently. Getting good use out of my 1 pair but the others, were a waste of $160.

Horrible shoe. Felt fine while walking in my home. However, went for a long walk and literally felt pressure/poking on the inside ball of my foot - really annoying.
