Fit and size was fine except for toe box. I need more room in the toe box than these provided.
I'd also recommend:

I've been wearing size 15 shoes for 24 years, never had a shoe that far off. Had to return them.

I love the 1080. This version change between v11 and v12 has drawbacks. Adding the padded collar around the ankle is a good idea to add some ankle stability, but so far it seems like added weight that is unnecessary. It also seems like they changed the fabric on the upper. The fabric seems thicker now where it was an ideal texture/thickness on the v11. This also adds weight to the shoe. When it's time for my next purchase I may revert back to the v11 for these reasons. However, I still have many miles left on these 12s and maybe my opinion will change.

Really really comfortable shoe but not quite right for my running.

Based on previous comments that sneaker ran large and to order a half size smaller I did. That was correct ! I usually order the 2E for width this also seems to run smaller ( narrower ). I didn't order the extra wide width. Mistake ! I thought they would stretch after wearing for a few days. They haven't as of yet. Other than that good looking shoe.

Nothing special. Again, as with all NB shoes, every model fits just a bit differentlycan't count on anything!

This is my 8th generation wearing 1080. Great cushioning but at the sacrifice of response. It also feels heavier. (this review comes after having logged 60+ miles) The laces are better than the 1080 v11. Overall good everyday training but I selected not to wear it for a recent half and full marathons. I opted to wear the Rebel that has much better response and ideal for speed.

Love the Fresh Foam X 1080v12 shoe but I have a high instep and need the extra wide size. Checked every store within 100 miles (over 18 stores) and only one carried any extra wide at all, but none in my size. Even the New Balance website has virtually no extra wide inventory for the Fresh Foam X 1080v12 shoe, and none in size 10.5. For a company/shoe that touts catering to folks with wide feet this is extremely frustrating. Long for the good old days when the only thing to complain about was the limited colors for extra wide sizes.

I have run in the 1080s for several years and probably have 10 pairs laying around my house. Bummed to find out this v12 is at least a half size bigger than earlier versions.

Another extra wide that doesn’t work. Instep was snug but not enough room in toe box. The cushioning was great and I would have enjoyed wearing them if they gave me more room. Thanks again Zappos for helping and doing returns.

I have plantar fasciitis and I have used 1080 V10. They were the best and comfortable shoes by far. I was very satisfied and I want to try out the 1080 V12 and they are not as comfortable as V10. I can't stand in these for 8 hours.

Tried the new 1080V12 in double wide size 12.5- obviously I have a wide foot but also a high instep. The bottom lace of this shoe is kind of useless as you cant tighten it but in my case you cant widen it either and as a result I could not get my feet into a double wide size.... it looks cooler I guess but the purpose of laces is so that you can loosen or tighten the fit and you have removed that option. I went back to my favorite older 860 model and thank God you had a few of my sizes left and I bought one and will buy another as I am guessing those are on the way out- too bad as New Balance was the only shoe maker I ran across with wide and double wide and half sizes above size 12.... the shoe lace modification may take away some customers but perhaps only those in the wide sizes..... Hope you keep the 860 model around... if you need to change the number to 1160 to make it sound new and improved most wouldnt notice- its a great shoe and why change the design and fit ? Make it more durable, lighter, change the colors etc. but basic provendesign is timeless !! Dont get me wrong I love my New Balance shoes ! Almost as must as my addidas running shoes in 1964-1970 when I ran track and Cross country (before running was cool) and I would use duct tape to keep the uppers in place until the soles wore out ! Runners know when they come across a good shoe !

These are massive. Do NOT order your normal size. I have wider feet and these were 1/2-full size bigger.

These are quite comfortable for basic walking, but really bottom out in the heel for me with anything more intense. I'm 6' and 250lbs, and my running stride is probably poor.

I've been wearing 1540's for years, 3 pair of the v2 & four of the v3. Tried these as NB was out of 1540's, they just aren't for me. As compared to the 1540v3, too long in length (unusually long), not quite as wide & way too soft. Had to return & wait for the 1540 to come back in stock...

The v12's have great cushion but the new heal counter feels a bit overdone. I prefer the v11's fit and heal counter. I also liked the v9's mid foot lockdown, but the v10's felt too loose around the mid foot. Everyone's foot is a bit different, so it's nice NB has different 1080 options.

The v10 was the best version of the 1080. Fit and bounce is still off since v11, particularly around the ankle (v11 was atrocious with heel slip -- I had to go half-size down -- this isn't much better). Hopefully, they realize they've made mistakes and backtrack. The 1080 used to have its own POV -- this wears like a worse version of heavy cushion competitors.

Been using 108's for years. Was really looking forward to the release of the V12 version of the 1080. However when I received my new 1080 V12 11.5 WIDE I was terribly disappointed in the shoe-it is definitely not like the WIDE versions of old. I don't know what NB did, but apparently they've changed their frame or what ever they use for sizing shoes 'cause this claimed WIDE shoe is NOT WIDE!!!

AFTER OWNING THE 1080V10 WHICH WAS NOT A HIT FOR ME DUE TO DURALABILITY ISSUES (50MILES) IT'S WELCOMING TO SEE THE 1080V12 WITH MORE RUBBER COMPOUND ON THE SOLE, THIS 1080V12 FEELS LIKE THE SHOE YOU CAN PUT IN YOUR DAILY MILES, I HAD NO UNSTABLE FEELING AND LOTS OF CUSHIONING. THE DOWNSIDE IT'S NOT RESPONSIVE. IT'S NOT A SHOE TO GO UP HALF A SIZE DUE TO THE UPPER MESH BEING LOOSE, AND NB, WHAT'S THAT BUMP IN THE SOLE ON HEEL IT LOOKS LIKE WHEN YOU'RE IN TWO MINDS TO SOMETHING, TRYING TO CREATE SOMETHING YOU'RE UNSURE ABOUT. LOL

Admittedly the 1080v11 was the most comfortable running shoe I have ever owned. I (literally) bought one in every color they offered. Today, I am glad I did because it seems I will have to wait until 2023 for them to "undo" what they have done here. Don't get me wrong, the v12 is a very solid and nice running shoe, but they made it a bit more narrow and they made the sole MORE FIRM. When I put these on I had to check the tongue label because I was certain they had sent me 880's by mistake. They had not. If having a super-soft FF sole matters to you, you may not be very happy with the v12. If it doesn't matter to you, you'll be fine. It mattered to me - so I'm disappointed.
