Got these for walking the dog a few times every day and these are by far the most comfortable pair of shoes I've had for this purpose. Usually get about 5km done a day and they're holding up well.

Its a perfect fit every time. I can take a new pair out of the box and start running. No break in period needed.

These shoes remind me of the time when I had to wear my dad's suit to grade 8 grad- It sort of fit but didn't feel comfortable, I hated wearing it, and it looked stupid.
The uppers have a bunch of extra room, so you either need to cinch them tight til the fabric overalps or wear wool socks.

Over many years I have purchased most versions of the 1080. The last few versions were awful. The v9 fell apart at the inside heel area, and the v10 was unwearable due to the tight elastic at the top. So far the v12 hasn't suffered the same fate (garbage can) as my v9 or v10.

These are currently my second pair of 1080's. The v12 is comfortable. The rocker compliments my stride well.

Bit of a wider fit with a comfortable upper. The cushion is optimal for easy runs and for heavier set runner. I do recommend ordering a half size down as it does run a bit larger.
Overall great shoe, I've found my new pair!

Bought these two weeks ago, and let me tell you, worth every penny! Feels like I'm running on pillows! Best running shoe on the market today!

So comfortable , such a soft feel under foot and looked great. BUT I was unable to stand upright with out the sense that I was going to fall over backwards. The lack of support under the back of the heel I believe was the problem.

I'm not a runner or professional athlete, but I know what works for me. I've been wearing New Balance shoes forever. Over the last 5-6 years the 1080's were the best for me.
I have a high instep and vey wide ball and wear a men's 10 4E with custom orthotics. I could always count on the 1080v5-v9 to fit. I didn't care for the recent high rubber pull or "tongue" or whatever it's called, at the heal. So I avoided them and was able to find earlier models when I needed them.
Unfortunately, I can no longer find them but they added padding to that area with the V12, so I decided to try them.
No local store, even the Factory stores, had them in my size. Reading about them online many said they run big, I started a chat with a NB rep who advised they did and I should get size smaller. She also indicated that the 680 like the 1080, was a neutral shoe and might be a good choice for me. So I ordered the 1080 V12 in 9.5 4E from NB online. The fatal question I didn't ask, was about the height & width. width, thinking 4E meant 4E.
When I got them and compared them to my current V8's, there is a major difference in width. I attempted to stuff my feet into them and found, indeed, they were the right length. However, the width and height missed horribly. I immediately returned them to a local Factory store for a refund.
They must have changed the last when they started with the redesigned heal. It's not the same shoe I have loved for years. Maybe they should bring back a "1080 Classic" or just go back to the old last.
I needed new shoes, so I had to do something. And I really wanted the "Eclipse with vibrant orange and spring tide" color. So I decided to try my regular size. They are definitely narrower, longer, and shorter on my instep, but are wearable. I'm sure they will break in eventually.
Next time I go to a NB store, I'll check out the 680 the NB rep told me about to see if it's the shoe I have to go to until NB changes the 1080 back to something more fitting for my feet.

Product did not provide the ankle support I needed. I returned the product but New Balance has so far failed to credit my AMEX card

I bought these to replace a worn pair of the same shoe. The old pair fit perfectly right out of the box. I could not even get my foot into these. The box, and the tags indicated the same size as previously purchased. Something is wrong at the manufacturing plant.

I purchased these two months ago. Have run less than 50 miles and the toe box/bumper on both shoes are buckling inward and pressing in on both big toes (and I purchased the wide). Very hard, and very painful. Do not reform and makes the shoes unwearable. Would not recommend for purchase.

Walking produced toe discomfort due to the shallow toe box of the size 14 shoes. Sent them back.

Great fit, great cushioning. One thing to note, I've always worn a 10EE in the 1080 going back to about v9. This version I had to size down to 9EE, which for me fits exactly like the old 10. The only problem is that I had to return and buy several times to find the right size for me.
If it weren't for this problem I would give 5 stars!!

I have lower back problems and am on my feet most of the day, standing or walking on concrete floors. The extra cushion provided in these shoes is great and I no longer need to add inserts! My back pain is so much better. Couldn't be happier!

I really liked the sneakers but they were to big and don't run true to size. So I returned them.

I have another pair of the same shoes in a different color that I liked very much, so I bought this pair. Unfortunately this pair (same size, different color) gives me blisters on the inside lateral portion of the ball of the foot after about three miles of running. It seems to be where the insole meets the side of the shoe, which leads me to believe either the insole is cut differently or the shoe width itself is different. Bummer, because I really liked the previous pair.
This is meant as my slow, easy run shoe so I can't use it for that as those runs are longer than 8 miles and I can't use them for up-tempo stuff because they're bulky/heavy and not right for that so...bummer.
I run 25-35 miles per week and I put 22 miles on these shoes before commenting on them.

I have been wearing NB 1080s for years. They're the best running shoes out there in my opinion. When the v10s came out, I had to resort to looking online for older versions since the back of the heel was digging into me and causing pain and drawing blood. I was THRILLED to see that this issue had been fixed with the v12s since my supplies were dwindling. Been running on these for a few weeks now and I can say that the love affair has been rekindled.
