This Jacket is warm, but doesn't make you sweat. GREAT packable jacket for our travels from cold to warm climate. Love the roomy pockets on the sides for my hands plus an IPhone Pro Max! Extra pockets inside as well, and a roomy hood. It's a keeper!

I was looking for a puffer jacket that would be warm enough to withstand MN winters, with temps as cold as -30 F. This jacket is perfect! It's so lightweight, I was surprised at how warm it is. I am normally a size 6 or 8 in clothing and purchased a Small; I have enough room to wear a sweater or sweatshirt comfortably. The jacket doesn't cover my entire backside, but sits just below my hips, which works good for me. I highly recommend.

Very nice and cozy jacket. I had to buy the new color this year. Now I have two. I bought the next size up so I could layer underneath if needed.

I could not love this coat more! It's absolutely perfect! It's sooo light, yet extremely warm. The red color is a gorgeous shade!! It's a dark berry color red. I have never loved a coat as much as this one!

I love that it is light weight and very warm. All I would change is that I wish it had more pockets.

Love this jacket- it's everything as described online. Michigan winters are cold and this jacket keeps me warm with a sweater or fleece under it. I'm 5' tall and 105 lbs. I bought Petite XS. The sleeve and jacket length are perfect. The color is a gorgeous shade of red, Highly recommend.

I originally bought a large but returned it for a medium, which fits perfectly. Perfect for this cold, snowy winter in the north country. Best hooded jacket I've ever had. The red is stunning.

The coat is excellent in providing protection from the wind and cold. Get the "Tall" for added protection.

This is a great, very light weight casual jacket. You can dress it up a bit too with black pants, black boots, black leather gloves and a nice scarf. But mostly it's just a good quality all around kind of jacket that has a useful hood. Not the one with that tight elastic around the edge but a regular normal style of hood. It also zippers nice and high up the neck and face to keep the wind and cold out. It works well! Not overly puffy. I bought a size medium as am trying to get a jacket long enough to cover my but. Usually at 5'6" 132 pounds I take a size small in their winter coats and jackets. Purchased the green and it is a beautiful thyme, wish it came in a 3/4 coat in the exact color and style and material. Maybe next year llbean?

This jacket is very warm and very light in weight. I really like wearing it, it's very comfortable. I am very pleased with the purchase.

This is my second LLBean 850 down hooded jacket. The first one is still going strong - just wanted another color. Originally, I purchased the first jacket for backpacking, and car camping, and it has outperformed my expectations. My new jacket, in black, is even better, due to the treated down to make it more water resistant. What do I love about this product? It is windproof, incredibly warm, very light and packable. What do I dislike? Nothing!

Love this jacket! It is lightweight, but, oh so warm! Love the green color, too. Fits well and is nice and tapered at the waist. Especially happy with it as these December temps have been BRRRR!

I actually like my black down jacket quite a lot. I wear it frequently and have enough room to have a sweater on under it. I purchased an XL. I weigh approx 180# and am 5'7".

This jacket is very warm , and it fits perfectly. I bought the small. I am 5'6" 130 lbs. The green color is beautiful so are the other colors too. Happy customer!

I purchased one of these jackets years ago (from LL Bean), but it was getting slightly tight on me, so I purchased a larger size in a different color. I have received so many compliments on the color of the coat (eggplant). It's so lightweight and warm. I absolutely love this jacket.

This has been the perfect winter jacket for me for 12 winters, and I'm here considering purchasing another one. I've torn some holes in my old friend over the last few years while fighting with brambles, and though the Gear Tape repairs have held up, it's starting to look a bit rough. I appreciate the generous hood and the elasticized cuffs, and even without using the integrated pocket for packing it down, it takes up virtually no space and always feels warm and weightless. I truly love this jacket and except for the patched areas, it looks as good as it did in 2013! I have a heavier coat, but find that I usually still choose this one with some additional layers underneath.

This jacket fits perfectly and glides over anything I wear. I am amazed at how warm it is being as lightweight as it is. The wind is blocked by its material and the hood is always at hand if needed. I'll never regret this purchase.

I haggled over everything - size, warmth level, and color. Also, being rain-resistant was important. After looking at many of the down offerings, I decided upon the Ultra Light 850. I was concerned that the warmer level might not be warm enough, but I have worn the jacket when the temperatures were in the high 30s and 40s. As suggested, I had a layer underneath. I'm delighted with my purchase!
