I ordered LL Bean's Primaloft jacket because an internet article said it was a less expensive alternative to a jacket offered by a pricy outdoor gear retailer. It wasn't warm at all. I wore it during a kids soccer game in Henderson, NV and was chilled through, temp was about 45 degrees. Should have paid more for higher quality. I guess the Primaloft insulation was compressed from being stored in a warehouse. I hope it will fluff up after more wearing.

The Women's PrimaLoft Packaway Hooded Jacket looked like just what I wanted to keep me warm when walking our new puppy. Unfortunately, I had to send it back, as there were just too many things wrong with it for me to keep it. The main thing that was a problem was that even though I ordered my usual LL Bean petite, the sleeves were way too long. Other little things added up to me returning it: weird color, and flimsy construction and insulation. With LL Bean, it's a hit-or-miss proposition with online ordering. I have many wonderful products from them, and others that I send back the same day I receive them.

I bought this same jacket several years ago and am still happily wearing it. I thought it would be fun to have a light color instead of my usual black or navy. I ordered the shore but the fit did not work for me. It was roomy in the front and I didn't mind the little flair at the hips. However it was very tight across the back. When I put my arms forward it really pulled across the back. It felt and looked bad. I wanted to be able to wear it with a sweater underneath as the jacket is pretty lightweight--no way! It was simply ill-fitting. I sent it back the day after it came.

Recently in Charlottesville LL Bean store. This jacket primal Loft appeared much thinner. I wanted to buy a different color.

I usually wear a medium jacket, and this was baggy and the arms were long. It just fit too weird for the price. I had to return it.

Did not like the gunmetal gray color, it is almost black. Sent back right away. Wish the colors were prettier and different for this jacket. Would love to see oatmeal, or beige, or tan, or true navy blue, or hunter green. So tired of all the pinkish colors. Also, the zipper isn't the best on this jacket. Comes apart easily.

I had to return this because it just didn't keep me warm enough, even in 40 degree weather. I ordered Primaloft bc I had tried a down jacket from LL Bean and the down had a bad mildewy smell I was allergic to. The description said Primaloft keeps you warm to 30 degrees but not in my experience! Not worth the $200

Too expensive. Not warm enough in 10 degrees What else can I say. It supposedly has this NASA developed technology to keep astronauts warm. It doesn't work as much as it was advertised.

I love this coat but I would not purchase it again only because it does not have a drawstring in the hood. I purchased this on sale love the color, love the material, etc. but didn't even think about looking to see if it had a drawstring but the first time I wore it on a cold windy day I certainly noticed it.

Please offer adjustable hood in the future, with a draw string in the front!

This was exactly the jacket I was looking for to replace my worn out primaloft onegood insulation, style, color, plus lightweight and packable. Unfortunately the size medium (my size in other LLBean clothing) was different in this garment. The sleeves were too long (I am 5'8") and the hood came down over my eyes and rested on my nose! Not so good for walking! I reluctantly had to return it but will buy it again if the sizing is adjusted in future.

The zipper comes apart at the bottom and can be a pain to fix. Annoying enough to make me want to give it away.

I liked the color and light weight warmth but the first time I had it on, my zipper broke. Winter coats need heavy duty zippers that aren't difficult to zip. I sent it back.

Love the jacket and have the jacket without hood. However I returned this jacket because the hood was uncomfortably tight around the face.

Material very light even for a primaloft. No cuff just a thin band. No collar just a hood. Doesn't appear to have the usual high quality of LL Bean fabrics. Will keep it and see how it holds up in the fall. Love the color.

I do really like this jacket for cool weather but one day I got the zipper stuck. I tried fixing it dozens of times and asked friends and coworkers but nobody had any luck. I contacted customer service hoping that they could fix it and they said that they couldn't fix that type of zipper. So now I have a zipper that ll bean won't even fix! Very disappointed.

This jacket is not warm! I expected this to be the usual warmth of a llbean jacket especially at the price point. Although comfortably thin not winter gear.

I bought this jacket in the dark marine blue color and it is a beautiful shade of blue and the fit is ok. If I wanted to wear a midweight sweater underneath, I would have to size up. This jacket is not warm at all! I went out in 37 degrees and some wind and it felt like I had tissue paper on. I was very disappointed to say the least, I expect more warmth for a $200 jacket. The reviews on this jacket are mixed but I have to agree with the reviews that say it is not warm. I have to return.

The fit was great but the jacket its self was darn right cold! I got it because I run warm and normally don't need a heavy jacket living in the midwest. Even more so for running in and out of my car! However, It did not even keep me warm on a 30 degree day. let alone a cold one. It says it would keep you warm without the bulk but that is not true! this is going back!

I bought one of these jackets 4 years ago and loved it so much I wore it out. I loved that the hood had elastic and didn't blow off in the wind. I ordered the same coat, same size, and was so disappointed that the hood was, either defective, or designed badly. If I looked straight ahead it completely covered my eyes. Sending it back.

I loved the look and style of this jacket. Loved the blue color. I read reviews that said it ran small, and to order up for layering. I thought it was true to size, I should not have ordered up. In the 2 videos for the jacket, it emphasized warmth, and was seen being worn in the snow. Loved that it was advertised as lightweight and packable. The reality is, I am replacing a jacket of similar style, which I've worn for 15 years from a competitor, and was 100% happy, except that it had no hood, which I always wish I had. I have worn this Bean jacket 3 times, in between 30 and 50 degrees, and it was ok at 50, but I was cold at 30. Even at 50, the weather was very windy, and I could feel a breeze through the zipper. there is no fabric reinforcement around the zipper. It feels like two thin layers of ski jacket fabric. So, sadly, I have to return it. For the price, it is not a good value, and seems more like a spring or fall jacket than a winter one.

This lightweight windproof jacket is exactly what I wanted for winter hiking--but it's a poor fit in petite. The sleeves are about 2 inches too long. The jacket hangs poorly, especially in the back, because the shoulders are too big, and the armholes are too low, coming down to the bottom of my bra. When I held the jacket at the shoulders and lifted it up about 1 1/2 inches, THEN it fit, and looked good. I have similar problems with LL Bean shirts. A Google search shows that the average height of women in the US and in the world is 5 feet 4 inches--the top of the petite range. I don't know what it's so hard to find clothes that are properly proportioned for us.

I've purchased two of these jackets in previous years and really liked them. Imagine my surprise when this coat arrived with almost no insulation. Previous years jackets were well insulated and worked well under a waterproof shell. This one is extremely thin. The attached hood is worth having. Need a waterproof, windproof shell.
