This jacket has so many great qualities: great fit, nice color selections, lightweight, comfortable, and a reasonable price. The downside of this jacket is the zipper. The bottom of the jacket falls just below the hips and when zipped, the zipper is constantly unzipping from the bottom. This is both annoying and frustrating. It happens when you sit in a car or while walking. The bottom stopper doesn't hold the zipper teeth together.
While getting a coffee, a woman who had the same jacket yet different color started chatting about this jacket. It seems we both have the same issue with the zipper.
I really like this jacket and really dislike the zipper stop.

Too large for a petite. Need to reorder in petite sizes.

It's a nice jacket. I have one from two years back. But the size has changed. It's now slimmer and it doesn't fit me. I still have the older one that I wear to walk my dogs every morning. I'll have to try a different size.

It's a decent jacket with a nice shape. Good pockets, always a plus. The hood smashes my head in an odd way and the zipper isn't working perfectly but otherwise good. I usually wear a 14 bottom and 16 top. Got an XL because I prefer jackets roomy to accommodate possible layering. It fits just the way I like it.

The jacket is ok, but the quality is not what I was expecting. I've only had it a couple weeks and there are several threads hanging and the logo has peeled off.

I love this jacket, however it is already starting to have pulls in it and some of the feathers came out. I'm worried this jacket is not going to last long and I paid a large amount of money for it.

I have had this jacket for two maybe three years now, requiring a replacement a few months after purchasing because the material was deteriorating much faster than acceptable. I do find the material to be a bit fragile, I refrain from washing this jacket often and always let it air dry because I am concerned it will deteriorate the material too quickly. That being said, this is one of my most often reached for jackets. Its versatile in the sense I can pack it easily for trips when I am unsure of the weather, its great for between seasons, not too bulky and easy to throw on when running out the door. This jacket is NOT very warm at all, there is no way I would wear this for a New England winter, but it is a good fall/early winter/spring jacket. I should have ordered a petite small, but the small fits decently and I would say runs true to size. I think this jacket is far overpriced for what it is, I would say at $99 this would be a good buy, but given its lack of warmth and fragility I can't recommend it for its current price.

Runs extremely large! I'm usually a small in LL Bean jackets, but in this I was swimming. It's well made & has lots of good features, however it's even lighter weight than I was anticipating... which could be a pro for super packability, but didn't seem like it'd really do much for the cold. Decided to return to get something lightweight *and* warmer.

Love the jacket but the zipper split right away; this has happened in many LL Bean jackets I've had. I wish they would use sturdier zippers like they used to.

Unfortunately I returned this jacket. Loved the color and feel but not enough room through the shoulders and too much room through the body. Size small which is what I tend to get because of my broad shoulders, just too full through body, and sweater underneath uncomfortable through shoulders. Too bad. I have an older prima loft jacket from llbean, in a small, that fits great. Wish they'd keep sizing the same !

I bought this jacket recently and the first time I wore it the zipper split. Very disappointing for an LL Bean Product, I LOVE the style, it fit perfect. Was very warm and light. The length is perfect. I would happily have the zipper replaced however it is an important part of the style of the jacket and a hard color to find. It would be great to have a two way zipper in the jacket.

Liked the weight and feel of the jacket. Very disappointed that the jacket was tight across the upper shouldersit would have been uncomfortable driving with the jacket on. A larger size would have been too big in all other areas. Unfortunately, the jacket was returned because of the tightness in the arm area.

I bought the XL in black, it fit nicely. It hugged my curves yet wasn't tight and it was long enough to cover any long sweater or shirts I might wear. I liked how it was warm yet light enough that I could pack it into a large purse or tote bag and I just loved the deep pockets. However, I wouldn't recommend it for very cold weather. It's more for spring & fall. I'm returning it because it is just too drab. I would have liked a little spot of color, maybe in the collar, zipper, pockets or lining. I'm very pale and the black just made me look washed out. I know I could order it in a different color but black outwear best matches my other clothing & accessories.

In the picture on web it looks like a soft blue. It's actually grayish with a green tint Sent it back without even trying it on

I'm returning it because the hood is exactly like a shower cap and looks terrible. Jacket is larger than most LLBean - I can fit a cotton turtleneck and Bean Luxe fleece under it without a hint of tightness. It feels comfortable and is lightweight. Definitely not a winter coat. This is for spring or fall, which is what I want. If the fleece-lined primaloft jacket that I just ordered also has issues, and I really hope it doesn't, I'd buy this one without the hood even though it's only meh, especially for the price. I'm looking for something to wear asap for the current weather bc I ruined my beloved Bean jacket in the dryer last fall (warning: do not over-dry).

I purchased this coat for the purposes of outdoor winter activities: hiking; backcountry skiing; biking. I find that it is not breathable and if I sweat the jacket becomes very wet and then I start to freeze - not ideal. I would not recommend this coat for active wear, however, if you're just chilling around outside it is not a bad layer to have. It packs up very small and is very lightweight.

This jacket is comfortable but is not warm enough for brisk winter walks in New England. Also, the hood is not adjustable so it blows off my head.

Looking at the picture of the jacket and reading the description I thought it would provide sufficient warmth for the winter temps in northeast Georgia, USA, but it wasn't. I found it didn't keep me warm during 40F temp, which is why I returned it. Though it looked more robust in the picture, it was more like a windbreaker jacket, which wasn't enough protection for me. I went with a great waterproof one from Land's End which has been wonderful.

I wanted a jacket that isn't bulky, yet warm in the winter. I looked at the temperature rating for the jacket along with the look of it and decided to order it. When I tried it on, I thought it was thin but thought maybe the technology of the fabric is such that it will keep me warm. I tend to run a little warmer. Today it's 24 out and we just had a snowfall. I decided to go for a brief walk wearing my new jacket. I was also wearing a long sleeve top and light fleece. When I stepped outside I started to feel the cold right away. I had a brisk walk and a short one. Had I worn my down jacket I would have been fine with the temp. I like the look and I'll wear it when it's a little warmer or if I'm going on a quick errand. I would not recommend it to a friend if they are looking for something to wear in low temps and I'm not sure it's worth the $189.

Not warm enough even with a sweatshirt under it - and I like a hood that can be tightened.

We purchased the coat about three years ago in a petite medium woman's. The size was perfect. Three years later and neither petite medium, or medium will fit. The buyer's size has not changed. In fact, we still have the original purchase and it continues to fit well. The sizing has obviously changed.

I had been looking at this jacket for over a year and thought it would be just what I need. The quality was good but the sizing was off. It was large in the body with small sleeves and very small armholes. I couldn't have worn a light weight sweater with it! I had to return it.

The coat is very flattering, but much tighter across the back and in the upper arms than I would expect. I can often fit into an LL Bean XL, and there was NO WAY I could in this case. I kept the 2X, which I rarely wear, and it is even tight in the arms. Some reviews talk about layering... I would have to layer over this -- nothing more than a regular top is fitting under. I would have even tried the 3X, which is well outside my size range typically, but I didn't have time to get it before a ski vacation.
