I normally wear a size small, and got this in black in small. Fits rather tightly so I have sent back and will exchange for a medium. Also, the one I was sent had a zipper that kept coming apart at the bottom! So that was aggravating. Otherwise, it is a nice looking jacket for milder temps!

Jacket is just what I wanted. It is so light and very packable for travel. I just wish it had a 2 way zipper...would add a lot of comfort when sitting in the car.

I was torn after reading many of the reviews as to whether this jacket was going to be warm enough. I live in a temperate climate, but was looking for a coat that will keep me warm when the temp gets below freezing. This is definitely not a thick enough, warm enough jacket. This is perfect for 50 degrees and warmer, in my opinion. Fit was great, quality seems nice. Sadly, returned.

This jacket is incredibly warm and it blocks the wind. I only have one issue. The elastic on the hood keeps the hood close to my head and provides warmth, but I am a birder and like to wear a baseball cap under the hood for sun protection. The hood pushes the cap down in my eyes. If I fold the hood back an inch or so it still keeps my head and ears warm and stops the cap from falling forward.

The weight of this jacket is the best thing about it. Very light and great for traveling and great if it's raining. I ordered petite small took tags off and realized it was to big. It fits loose around the middle not close to my body. I am still wearing it but wish I would of exchanged it for XS. It runs wide and I feel there is lots of extra bulk in the front. I have worn it with layers to keep warm. I like the jacket just wish I did not take tags off cause I would of returned fit xs. Overall it's a great water resistant comfy coat just runs big.

Works similar to a windbreaker. Packs up without adding much weight to luggage. Hood is warm. Generally wear this to walk dog in day as it is just warm enough without breakfast a sweat.

This is the perfect jacket for California winter, with low temps in the high 30s and low 40s. I wore this on a trip to Santa Fe and it wasn't as warm as I would've liked there with temps in the low 20s. But it's perfect at home! The Red Ochre color is a lovely burnt orange. The sleeves are long enough (at 5'10" that is often an issue) to hit just below my wrist, and it hits below the waist, too, which is a nice length. I'd say it runs small. I typically wear a 20W/2X and I had to return it for a 3X in this jacket, which fits me perfectly.

Size small allows for sweater underneath. Nice fit. Comfortable on 32 degree day. Repelled water for 1.5 hours in light rain. Hood - the good & the bad. Easy to see side-to-side when crossing street, unlike hoods on other jackets. Warm, keeps out rain, wind. BUT, elastic opening came down over my eyes so I couldn't see at all. Pushing it up didn't help. With safety pins, opening works ok. Juniper color is nice.

This is a nice jacket, but I ordered a large and should have gotten a medium. It is also a bit thinner than I expected, and I was not a fan of so much lighter blue contrasting trim. When ordering, I did not notice the trim on the pockets, which is where it most screams "overkill" with the lining contrast. It is longer, which is nice for cold days, and since it is so large, the jacket works well with my thickest and longest sweaters worn underneath. it also has a great hood for rain or snow days. I'll make it work, but my go-to jacket is still the 850.

nice jacket for quick trips when not too cold. the hood however does not work well at all. it falls over your eyes, and even turning up the edge, does not work. it needs a tab at the back to make it the correct size.

This jacket is light and comfortable with a great fitting hood. First I should say that the jacket runs large. I am normally a consistent medium in jackets, but the medium was way too large. I purchased a small. I bought it at a store, so I was able to try on the small with a vest under it, and it still had room. I wore it today in 35 degree weather and my body was chilly. I had to put a vest under it in order to feel warm. I can see how this would be warm if you were engaged in an activity, but for just walking around, i needed a vest. It was toasty warm with the layer under it though, and the hood was warm and fit nicely.

This is a great-looking, well-fitting jacket. The first day I wore it I received multiple compliments. I love that it is so light-weight and comfortable. My only issue is the temperature rating, which is +35 degrees/-15 degrees. Please do not count on this jacket keeping you warm below 30 degrees unless you plan on wearing multiple layers underneath it. It seems a bit expensive for a jacket that I can't wear once true New England winter arrives. I am keeping it, but I'm a bit disappointed that it does not perform as expected.

I love the jacket. It fits perfectly with a layer or two underneath. And it is warm. The only part I don't like is the hood. The hood is elasticized all around so you can't just pull it on and off. When you put it on, it goes down your face almost to your eyes. I really wish I had ordered a similar jacket without the hood because it looks ridiculous.

This good-looking, cozy jacket was just what I needed for a recent trip to the chilly Northwest. It is amazingly packable and the petite large fits perfectly. However, be aware that "water-resistant" does NOT mean waterproof! I was dismayed to find that it soaked through on a rainy day. I should have read this product detail more carefully.

Great jacket but I'm giving this review a 4 star because I am disappointed they are no longer selling the longer version (mid thigh) in this style. The other PrimaLoft offered is not the same. Please consider selling the quilted again!

They have tapered the bottom of this jacket making it much, much more acceptable. I usually wear a large. With an XL I can get a light-weight layer under this jacket which you will need to stay warm on a windy 50 degree day. I agree with others that no way would this jacket keep you warm at 35 degrees. I have not worn it in an average rain storm but am concerned it's water repellency will not keep me dry. Really wish the hood were a roll up hood. Overall, even with the drawbacks mentioned, I like this jacket - good for travelling and late spring wear in the NE. Cost too high for value however.

I bought this in the light blue. The blue/gray color combination was absolutely lovely and the jacket is super lightweight, but even with a 25% off sale, it was still pretty expensive. I finally decided I wasn't SO in love with it that I could keep it. It seemed just a bit tighter than I really wanted. I have two of the Katahdin insulated pullovers and I LOVE them. They are so comfortable and work so well for most of the weather here on the front range. I guess they're cut a little more generously and I've gotten used to that. I had thought it would be great to have the same thing with a full zipper and that's what I had hoped I was getting. This jacket just seems tighter--tighter around the middle and tighter in the armpits. I can layer a polo shirt and a flannel shirt/Comfort Big Shirt under the Katahdin pullover (and pull an LLBean Mountain Anorak over that!) I don't think two layers would be comfortable under this jacket; that leaves it less adaptable than the Katahdin, for a lot more money. I think what I'd really like is the insulated Katahdin pullover in a full zip version. Perhaps I will get it--LLBean is now selling the Mountain Anorak in a full zip version which is something I have wanted for years! That jacket in the green is on its way to me now! --If I love it, the blue will be ordered soon. :-)

When I got this jacket, I didn't think a jacket this light would keep me warm below 30 degrees. But I was surprised at how warm it is. I was outside in -10 weather for about 45 minutes with a medium weight wool sweater and I was toasty. In heavy winds I wore a windbreaker over it. The downside for me was the zipper. Unlike 99% of women's winter jackets, the pull is on the left side. If you're left handed, this is the coat for you.

The jacket is comfortable, the sleeves are long enough, the coat comes down almost enough to keep my lower back warm, I like the cranberry color, and the hood closed enough so I don't have to wear a hat to keep my head warm. But the rest is not as warm as I expected it to be. My arms, for instance, need at least one heavy layer under it. Maybe you need to be outside moving for it to be warmer? Guess I'll find out next fall/winter. I haven't worn it out in the rain, so don't know how well it sheds water.

This is my preferred jacket for errands and daily wear in temps 30F to 50F. It is light weight, not bulky and warm with layers such as a quarter zip fleece underneath. The only negative is lack of breathable materials. When worn for a briskr walk the material does not to breathe and instead you sweat. It does not matter if I have a fleece layer under the jacket or just a tee.

this jacket is super light weight which will be good for travel as intended. Does not seem to be as warm as I thought, but will be okay. have not tested water proof yet, but hope to see it repel the rain.

I bought one of these jackets last spring for a trip to Ireland and loved it. When they recently went on sale I purchased another in a different color. Unfortunately the styling has changed. It is tailored in at the waist slightly and longer in the back than front. I especially did not like the waist change as it changed the whole way the jacket looked. I ended up sending it back.

This is a great jacket. It keeps very warm in subzero temperatures. My only complaint is that it isn't very durable. Like other jackets I have purchased from LL Bean, it tends to rip and tear very easily when hiking through the woods. Any tree branch will tear a hole in it. As long as I just use it around town and don't do many outdoor activities it works just fine.

I bought this jacket recently looking for a less bulky yet warm jacket that I could wear when out walking the dog and running errands. It has met my expectations. Feels and looks great! It is thin but with a couple extra layers on really cold days, it keeps me quite warm. Love the hood, too. Nice roomy pocket for keys, tissues and mittens/gloves. Overall, very happy with this jacket.
