Beautiful color and light weight. Sleeves are very long and overall very loose and long.

I wanted to love this jacket. I have an older one that I have enjoyed. I like that the new one is longer and has a more flattering shape. BUT, the new cut is too tight in the shoulders. I can't move my arms. This seems to be typical of several new designs. Sadly, I sent it back.

I have the primaloft hooded jacket and love it! I really wanted one without a hood.
I called Beans to check on actual product dimensions. The answer was that the dimensions were the same. Hurrah!
Then the jacket arrived. NO. The shoulder measurement is 1 inch wider than my previous jacket. The back length is 2 inches shorter. The sleeves are 1 inch longer. Wonder why?
The jacket I received appears to be more likely to fit a man....wide shoulders and slim hips.
So sorry. I will return.

I bought two jackets almost identical from LL Bean and one from a competitor-same size. The LL Bean which I really wanted was a whole size too big and the competitor fit just right. This jacket is also too long for a 5'3" frame. It fits like a tunic. The petite would probably fit better but then you have to worry about the shoulder area. Not worth the back and forth exchanging to find the right size. Unfortunately I will have to return and keep the competitor :(.

I wore the jacket for the first time this morning in 42 deg. partially overcast with a slight breeze and found the jacket to be not warm enough. Walked for 40 minutes and I was still cold. My arms and chest were warm but not my back. I will have to wear my packaway vest under the jacket. I wish LL. Bean would bring back their insulated jacket with the fleece side panels from a few years ago; that is so warm in comparison (I still have it but use it for working around the garden). Eliminate the fleece panels and make the whole jacket the same. Now I have to look for a warmer jacket so that I don't have to wear a lot of layers.

This is a beautiful jacket and seemingly everything I would need for a hiking trip to Ireland in early fall.
It is huge in the chest and sleeves and way too tight in the hip area. Tried it with a fleece vest and I looked like a sausage. The silver and yellow was out- standing but it is not to be.

I have the original pack-away jacket in black with the hood, I love that jacket, great for travel it packs very small into its own pocket, easy to store or use as a pillow. I decided to get the newer version without the hood for a trip this summer. The newer version seems lighter weight than the original, it is also more form fitting, I prefer the boxier fit. I'm 5'1" 120# and bought a MP so I could wear a sweater under, it is very roomy, it does run a little large, the zippers are cheaper and are of a contrasting color, the LLB logo is very prominent. Not sure how warm it will be but the original jacket is great. I bought this hoodless version because it was on sale and I wanted a nice color. Out of the packaging it flares out at the bottom, I hope this goes away with wear and hangs a bit straighter. Can't really say if I would recommend it or not just yet.

It's a great jacket, love the addition of the vest pocket! The only problem: (and for me it's a big one) the "currant red" color is actually orange, unmistakably so. It's a deep orange with perhaps a slight hint of red and definitely not a red color with a hint of orange. I loved last year's barberry red color and hope that LL Bean will bring back barberry or a similar true red color for its primaloft line. I have both a primaloft jacket and vest in that color but but my barberry jacket has some soot on the sleeve from feeding the woodstove. When I went to replace it last fall barberry was totally sold out. Red currant got my hopes up but was a big orange disappointment. Please, bring back barberry!

Cute jacket. Perfect length. Love that it's made from recycled materials. Feels well made, in typical LLBean fashion. But I was surprised to find that this jacket is not very warm at all. Tested it out on a 20 degree day--with a super warm, wool-blend fleece underneath--and I was cold. Will probably be great for 40 degree days...

It was just too big. I wanted to love it but I am a small and would have needed an xx small in this.

The fit was a little boxy and could live with that. However, the primaloft is so thin, especially at the top of the shoulders, that it feels like two thin pieces of nylon material. I thought I read the description carefully and thought it would be a bit warmer for this price. It is like wearing a thin sweater. I purchased a size medium petite and the sleeve length was perfect.

Received this as a Christmas gift and was expecting a warm jacket. It was listed as "warmer" in the Bean catalogue. Extremely disappointed in the warm factor. This jacket is not warm and may even be less warm than the Weatherproof brand spring jacket that I wore most of last winter. Guess someone forgot the primaloft in my jacket. On the positive side it is nice looking and fits well. I can wear a heavy sweater underneath. Not too certain about the rain and wind protection either. Barely acceptable for Virginia weather on moderate winter days. Would be best for spring and fall.

I have had this jacket for about a year. Thought it would be a lot warmer. Wind cuts right through it. But it packs well and is sort of like having a lightweight, water resistant sweater. Very cute styling. Too bad it doesn't delivery jacket warmth

Very light, as if no filling at all. Might consider as a light springtime windbreaker. Nice side zip pockets, and the body zipper works smoothly.

Not very warm. It's OK in 50 weather But what isn't Overpriced for the amount of warmth you get My wife and I both have the same jacket and both agree. It is not warm enough.

I run hot, so when I say I can wear this coat around my house at 62 degrees and not start sweating, it's a sign that this is *not* a warm coat. I *does* repel wind and light rain, so there's that. The sleeves are a little short, and it's a bit tight in the shoulders, but I'm tall and just living with that.

Bought the sugar plum color and it's absolutely beautiful. I get so many compliments on it. I also appreciate the pockets, hard to find on women's clothes. However, this jacket is not very warm at all, and for the priceI assume for the supposed high-tech insulationthat's unacceptable. I will feel cold in it when I'm indoors at work,

Great idea for a jacket but the size I ordered was more like a 1x than a 3x, so I returned it. I wish that LL Bean would do better with sizing clothing for those of us who need plus sizes to fit appropriately, but I do have to say that I am still impressed with the quality of the product.

After having the old version for nine years, I decided to update my jacket. So disappointed. The fabric after less than a year is ripping at the arm seams. The sizing is also really strange with the torso being way too big in the arms are long like a men's version. I am 5'7" and needed to buy the petite style to fit properly.

A women's XL was a little snug in the arms and too tight across my mid-section. Exchanged it for a 1X. The arms were even tighter and there was too much room across the middle. I love the previous cuts of the Primaloft jackets I already own. It's too bad that larger women are expected to have arms the size of toothpicks when they typically don't. Giving 2 stars for ease of exchange process and that Primaloft items are awesome (when they fit right).

I love that this is a coat for cooler weather and it's easy to move around in it. However I've had it for less than a year and the material rips really easily. I got a flaw in it just getting my son's bike out of our garage today. I wish the material was sturdier. For the price, I had hoped for better.

It's certainly warm, but the cut is exaggerated and strange. The upper sleeves are puffy while the lower sleeves fit close, the waist is nipped in and it flares out a lot at the hips. I got the red, and it looked like something the Red Queen (Alice in Wonderland) would wear. I returned.
