Honestly, I didn't even take it out of the bag and try it on for fit. I bought the teal blue (can't think of the proper color name at this moment) and just didn't like the look of the contrasting zipper. So, I returned it. It does pack down small. Just my personal preference.

The jacket is lightweight and warm. Very packable. It runs a little bit large if you are not planning on a layer underneath. Perfect over another layer.
Red Ochre color is NOT a true red but has a coral or salmon hue.

I'm usually a medium in jackets because I have broad shoulders and a long torso. The medium is baggy and really long (nearly to my crotch). Partly my mistake, as I missed the description detail that lets you know it's a longer jacket. I may try a small, but haven't decided as the length is kind of unflattering. It does have a nice fitted shape that accentuates the waist and leave enough room at the hips, just too big for me. Also, "camp green" color looked nice on my screen, but is more of a spruce or hunter green in real life.

This jacket is great in several areas - lightweight and not bulky, fits easily in a suitcase, not too warm for indoor errands. I bought a large in blue without a hood and then an extra large in green with a hood which fit much better. Overall runs small, especially if you have a sweater on. The hood is a bit annoying but nice to have for brief use. The zipper on my first coat was trouble after a few months. My main comment is this coat is NOT warm enough for winter unless you are just running errands and it's 20 degrees or warmer. Or perhaps for cross country skiing and above zero. Appreciate the synthetic option rather than down.

Love everything about this except the main zipper, which started failing after a few wearings. It's hard to line up both halves of zipper, and several times the part you pull upward to close the coat has separated from the part that stays at the bottom of the coat.
On the plus side, the arms and shoulder accommodate my extra long arms and broad shoulders, and the torso accommodates a thick fleece vest. Highest warmth-to-weight ration of any coat I've ever had, while being quite lightweight.
Zipper quality means I'll likely need to replace zipper before winter starts, and that should not be necessary when the coat is basically new.

This is an almost perfect lightweight jacket. I say almost perfect because I wish LL Bean would go back to having the more rugged zippers that can open from the bottom as well as the top. Order a petite if you're my height, 5'4", or less. I tried the regular and the arm length was way too long. There is space for layering and good pockets.

This jacket is just the right weight for fall and spring. The shape is flattering. The sleeves are way too long though but maybe that's just me. If you are my height, 5'4' maybe you should order a petite. I wish it had a zipper that opens from the bottom as well as the top.

I usually wear a small or XS in LL Bean. I ordered this in a small, to be sure there was plenty of room to wear a sweater under it, but the Small was very big and baggy, more like a medium.
It seems like a nice jacket, and I like the longer length, that mostly covers my rear, without getting into to the longer mid-thigh length. I will re-order it in XS.

I purchased this jacket mainly for travel in cool/cold seasons, because it's packable. I ordered the Petite XL, as I'm short and "hippy". Probably could have gotten away with a Large, but this size allows me to wear bulky clothing.
My only complaint, which goes for all women's outer garments that have zippers, is that the zipper isn't two-way.

I like the jacket because it is very lightweight yet also quite warm. Only negative is that it is difficult to zip. Still I do recommend it.

Purchased the medium and returned it for a small. Medium way too big, small fits perfect. Very light and cozy jacket. I purchased it to pack for summer travel. The only reason I dropped a star is because the color is not the bright aqua color I see on the screen. It's similar but not as vibrant. More of a sea green/blue. Looks better now I see it in the daylight. Its a keeper none the less. Fits nice and long on the hip. Fitted in the waist. Lots of pockets.

This would be an excellent jacket for me, except for the sleeve length. I do have short arms and this is sometimes an issue. The band at the bottom of the sleeves is not small enough to keep the sleeves above my hands. Otherwise an excellent buy.

I love the lightweight and longer style of this jacket, but I don't think the temp rating is quite what they say. I live in the UP and as long as my cars warmed up I'm ok in this jacket but if I have to be outside for any length of time it doesn't cut it. Would still buy it again. Usually I'm just going from work to car to home etc.

I purchased the jacket for an upcoming trip so I don't yet know if it will be comfortable at the temperatures it is rated for. I was surprised just how extremely thin it is and have my doubts that I'll stay warm at the lower temperatures. However, I think it should be fine at the mid to upper range. I'm basing this on a quick trip to the grocery store at a somewhat lower temperature. However, the coat is comfortable and I like the fact that it is not bulky. I probably could have gotten a small instead of the medium, but I wanted to be able to wear a sweater under it and I don't like snug garments. My one disappointment is the the zipper only opens from but the top. Since the jacket is a little longer, it would be more comfortable if the bottom could be unzipped when sitting. There are plenty of pockets which will come in handy and blue is a pretty color.

I purchased this coat for travel and walking the dog in the fall weather. It does the trick. I have several winter coats. I tend to wear them when it's below 40 degrees instead of this one. It's great for travel and Florida winters, but not as your only coat in the northeast.

Petite Lge too tight in shoulders, will try to exchange for petite XL. Not very warm coat, but wanted a layering coat for hiking without a hood. Will try it on hike once I get the exchange for larger size. Can't move arms forward in the petite large. Length and rest of coat fits well.

This jacket's specs say it is warm to -15 deg., but the fact that it is so lightweight makes me doubt this. To feel really warm, I need to feel more thickness around my body. I have used the jacket many times in more temperate weather and like it for that reason. But when it's really cold, I go back to my warmer parka.

Love this jacket but join many of your other customers asking that you stop putting your logo on your clothes! A lot of us dislike being a walking billboard and I have friends who will not buy your clothes that have it displayed!

True to size. Fits and feels great. The blue-green color appears more turquoise on the online photos. It is actually a Teal Color.

Beautiful, light weight jacket. The fit around the belly is perfect. The fit around the arms is somewhat tight.

The jacket fits great and is very light weight, yet warm. Just what I was looking for to take to Alaska in the spring. That said, I like the jacket but hate the cheap looking logo on the front. I've been buying LLBean products for many years and really don't like the visable logos that are now appearing on all the jackets/shirts. Please go back to your clean classic look.

This is exactly what I was looking for! I love the style and colors. It's a perfect spring and fall jacket. The fit was perfect other that the waist being a bit too tailored for me - thus I took 1 star off. I prefer a little roomier fit through the middle.

I have an older packaway jacket in petite XL which I wear when temps are over 35F. It's thin and light and packs up small. But it's too snug to wear over layers, so I ordered a 1X. The red ochre color is rich and not as bright as pictured. The fit is great except across the back and in the shoulders, which don't seem any bigger than the regular XL I tried on in the store. So skip this if you run broad across the back, but if you don't it's a super nice jacket.

I bought this to use for camping - I was looking for a light jacket that would be easy to keep clean, wouldn't wrinkle, and super packable while giving me something to stay warm during the evenings. This jacket fits the bill, but is thinner and not as warm as I expected. It's more akin to a sweater in terms of warmth, but much better in the wind. I find I often need to wear a long-sleeved shirt under it if the weather is on the cool side (under 60 degrees for me).
