I think this would be better organized under raincoats, because that's basically what it is. It's not comfortable enough to be a "casual" jacket and there's hardly any insulation at all, so don't expect it to be warm.

This product has some of the features that I wanted in a midweight jacket. It has not only a two-way zipper, but snaps as well. The flannel lining is OK, but I would prefer a jacket with fleece lining and warmer lining for the sleeves. This particular jacket is good for the changeable weather of a warmer part of spring.

Great fit and design. I love the color and the flannel lining.

I purchased the spruce pine and it was a bit darker than I had liked. I really would have liked the jacket for those rainy, 50-60 degree weather but I could not get over the crinkling sound it made. I had bought another jacket made with "supplex" nylon and really liked that material much better and softer to the touch.

Nice jacket but disappointing because it's not a heavy coat for winter but more for rain. I am returning it for a more insulated jacket.

I did not like the fabric but the real show stopper was the plaid lining on the hood that potentially would clash with with just about all my sweaters and turtlenecks.

A good work jacket which is what I got if for. Only thing I don't like is the zipper. Awkward to use, and gets stuck. Hood is also a bit small; would not fit well over a beanie.

It's not warm of a jacket. I have to wear another jacket underneath it to keep warm. So if it you want a warm jacket this isn't it

I bought this coat for a winter coat. I had one years ago, and my husband has had at least three of them. It is not warm, and is skimpy, so that I can wear a thin sweatshirt beneath it (still not warm enough, and it isn't even winter yet) but if I try to wear something heavier underneath it feels tight and uncomfortable. It's not the first thing I've bought from Bean that was not up to par. Turtlenecks are thinner. Is it just the women's stuff, or are the men's also lower quality? I bought my husband a flannel shirt and it is as heavy as his old ones, so I'm guessing they've decided to make women's clothing less "outdoorsy" while still pushing the outdoors. I'm keeping this jacket because it will work for late spring and early fall, but now I have to look for another coat elsewhere. And no, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

Does the job but the fabric is unrecognizable as anything I've ever seen before. In general all their products are not made with inferior fabrics. The bottoms of a pair of pajamas I bought from them actually ripped at the calf.

Ordered in my usual size; sleeves seem a little long and jacket is a little snug for a heavy sweater under it, which I might be tempted to do because it's a much "lighter" jacket than what I expected, given the writeup. Well-made, so I will keep it to replace an old barn jacket, but not the "heft" I was hoping for. I've ordered a heavier coat (I hope!) but it's back-ordered and I may have to cancel because by the time I get it, winter will be half over! Disappointing trip down LL Bean catalog pages this time, I'm afraid.

Rather disappointed in this jacket. Definitely did not keep me warm (at all) during a rainy, windy, 50 degree-weather, football game, with a sweatshirt underneath. Will need heavier sweaters, with turtleneck, to keep warm. Water resistance was okay. Purchased coat for use on trip to Alaska next year. Want shoppers to know this coat does not provide much warmth.

I have worn this jacket several times. It is comfortable, well made and attractive. I do not think I would describe it as "cozy". The supposed wool lining is as thin as a poor flannel. I bought it as the best available, but would really have liked the lining to be more attuned to fall comfort.

I wanted to love this coat, but the sleeves were short and it was tight around the hips.

Ordered twice; zipper jammed both times with my husband unable to fix either one. Taking second coat to my tailor for repairs as I really like everything else about the coat. Will return again, but not reorder, if zipper still not fixable. Spruce green.Size small.

The jacket works well in heavy rain, however, the sleeves are not lined and therefore not warm.

The fit is extremely large. I am 5'7'' 140 lbs and the small was too large.

I like the coat but have an issue with all of your coats being "slightly fitted". It is very difficult to wear a sweater or even a sweatshirt underneath the coat. Fully zipped up, it is very uncomfortable. This is not a lightweight jacket - it is meant to be worn in cold weather and most women would be wearing something warm underneath - not a single layer, like you would wear with a jacket. Please stop making "fitted" coats!!

I bought this coat hoping to replace a jacket I had had for a long time. When it came I found it was very thin, so not a great winter jacket, and the sleeves were 5 inches too long. I am 5' 6" and the coat fit well in the shoulders but tight in the hips. Will fit someone who is tall and thin better than someone with curves.

After buying the identical men's parka for my hubby, who loves it, I bought one for myself. Unfortunately I liked everything about it but the fit, and that was a deal breaker. The petite medium was tight so I exchanged it for a petite large. It was still too small in the shoulders and upper body, and way too big in the hip area. My shoulders are broad and the bust area is large also, but I'm trim in the waist hip and thigh area. The fabric is a nice sturdy Supplex nylon, but the lining is not what one would call warm. Not even close to the cozy flannel LLBean is known for. Great pockets, nice fitting hood, perfect length, but a wonky zipper. The Navy is a great color. So disappointed!

I had this same coat from LL Bean about 20 years ago. It was much thicker and warmer then. It was made to keep you warm and dry. The coat that you all are producing now is much thinner and it isn't a warm coat. It does keep you dry but overall it is disappointing. Even though several years had passed, I had hoped to get the same quality in the coat as years before.
