I love this coat. It is Chicago winter warm. It's light. It looks good. I can tell that it will last. I'm very happy with the purchase.

Bought this for an upcoming trip to insure I stay warm on top of the mountains. This jacket is so warm. Blocks the wind, keeps me dry and toasty warm. Keeps me warm in sub zero temperatures.

As a Florida girl who loves 90 degree weather, this jacket was a lifesaver up in the Georgia Mountains in January! I didn't take it off for three days straight on the AT while hiking and camping overnight through constant wind and snow flurries. This jacket did an excellent job of keeping me warm and comfortable. It fits me wonderfully - I can wear it by itself or even with a wool sweater underneath it still fit perfectly and is so soft and comfy. Packed down very nicely in my pack. The Juniper color is beautiful and it is flattering enough to wear around town, not just in the woods. This jacket is the best, I highly recommend it!

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. Initially when she opened it, she thought it would be too light for the Rhode Island winters. When she wore it the first time she was pleasantly surprised at how warm it was. We are pleased with this jacket.

I just received this jacket. It fits great. Very attractive design/style/color. I like that the hood has a bit of a little overjet to protect my glasses. I tried it on with a merino wool base layer and LLBean sweater fleece and had plenty of room to move easily. I love the royal plum color; it's gorgeous. Pockets are generous and placed just right! Good job LLBean! This is a keeper!

Comfortable, great for walking around town in a wide range of weather conditions. Nice looking, great details, and the crimson is a wonderful winter color, not too bright, stylish but cheerful.

Definitely my go to jacket this winter! Fits perfect and true to size, very comfortable and I like the option of using the hood. On my daily walk early in the am (20-30F temps) I I am toasty! I was looking for a lightweight; warm; colorful jacket; with a hood. I read the description of this jacket in the LL Bean catalogue, and it sounded perfect! I ordered the jacket, and was thrilled when it arrived! It is 'better than perfect!' Great fit; gorgeous color; lightweight and warm; ample hood; deep pockets. High quality materials, including zipper. I highly recommend this product!

Am very pleased with this jacket. Needed a new one and wanted a hood. I walk, even when it's cold and wanted to have the option of a hood. The down keeps me warm but seems to adjust so I don't get too hot. Jacket is super comfortable, I can wear a vest or fleece underneath and it still works well, it's flattering, and a beautiful color - peacock teal.

I think this may be the perfect winter jacket! It's light, versatile and just warm enough to be comfortable on cold New England days. I love the deep pockets and the hood and the blue color is magnificent. I am extremely satisfied.

This coat is very very warm, not puffy, and has room for layers underneath! I've worn it with just 1 layer at about 40 degrees and more layers at colder temperatures, and my upper body has not once been cold.

Great coat. It's warm, but light enough that I can comfortably run, race walk, bike, etc. It's a bit roomy on me, but that's what I wanted so I can comfortably layer. Looks really nice too.

This is the perfect winter jacket. Ideal for a cool day unzipped and warm as the temperature falls. Great colors. Not bulky.

The color is just beautiful. Very easy to move around in and drive your car. I just love how warm and light weight this coat is.

I have purchased 6 of the 850 down sweaters for myself and my adult children and they are treasured by all. I decided to go for the hooded jacket this year and I was not disappointed. So warm, so light weight, such a beautiful color... and I love the hood. I got a large because I like lots of room, but a medium would have been just fine. I'll have to watch closely to be sure one of my 4 kids doesn't "accidently" take it home!

This is the second one of these jackets that I've ordered. Wore the first for 2-3 years until one of my cats tried to climb it. I was able to close the tear, but now it's for around the yard. Just got a new royal plum one. So lightweight and yet it really keeps me warm. Warm enough to wear running the snowblower until the job was done. A great grab-and-go jacket. Like the elastic wrists and the fit of the hood. The only thing I would change is making it a two-way zipper for in the car.

High quality workmanship! Love the Crimson color and the inside pattern is also very cool looking. Has an extra inside left pocket I didn't know about. Exchanged for a size Medium that fits me like a typical Large usually fits. It is not an athletic fit through the body, it's roomy enough I could wear a fleece under it comfortably. I like that it is just long enough to cover my bum. Haven't had a chance to wear it in cold weather yet.

This jacket is super light, well made and warm! A must to enjoy cold weather!

This is my 3rd purchase of the same 850 down jacket. Got one recently discontinued model. They stopped making this model. They changed it completely by size and adding more down which in my opinion was not necessary. I tried the new version and do not like it at all. Returned it. The original jacket is very warm and I wear them all the time in PA winters. I wish they would consider bringing the jacket back in its original form. I love the color of my first one - Ruby Coral. I have a blue teal color and Rubarb color too. The fit, the look, the warmth - I like everything about it and received many compliments over the past few years with these jackets. Bring back the original model!

I haven't wore it yet, we're not in the season. But I did tried it on and I expected it a little more fitted but I was 110 lbs then hopefully I'll be 125 lbs by the cold season. Thanks.

100% of my outerwear is currently LL Bean because I need to wear petites in jackets. If you too, are small in stature, you will agree that usual color choices are either perfect for the Easter parade (pink, purple, baby blue, or turquoise) or perfect for pulling a caper in all black from head to toe. THANK YOU LL Bean for offering well made outerwear in petite sizes is more tasteful colors! I've had and loved the long ultralight down jacket for a few years and decided that a shorter one would be more useful year round. I'm so glad that I purchased this jacket. It's ultra light and toasty warm. I wore it to sleep on night already! I am a petite small in all LLBean things and this fits as expected. As with all Bean things, it's a bit roomy and good for layering. However, if you're between sizes, I'd say go down rather than up. I purchased the Blue Dusk color and it's much nicer in person, kind of blue grey and could almost read as a neutral as I could see it going with every single thing I own. My new go to. If you're on the fence, give this one a try, especially if you live in a climate with 4 distinct seasons.

Very warm,very comfortable,very light weight Great quality...but you must be careful not to get it rip or tear cause it's very soft and delicate...but I love it... It's worth the money... You won't be disappointed in cold weather..

I love down because it is comfortable in a wide range of temperatures. I find I go from hot to cold and back with other fabrics and coat fillings. this is the best jacket ever. so light weight. barely realize it is on. love the hood!! easy to pull on and off fast. love the pockets. I have already ordered a spare. the size is normal for llbean. I feel llbean runs a little big. if this was a different brand I would say it fit like an xlarge.

My go to jacket for everyday wear. Also able to wear a layer underneath when needed. Additionally, good for travel as it can compress down to a small size.
