I wear a size 22 in plus size clothes and bought a 3x here because i wanted it roomy. The sizing LL Bean for Plus size runs very small. The shoulders of the jacket are very tight and very difficult to bend/move arms about. For example if I sit down to drive with jacket, have to take jacket off because the arms across the shoulders are so tight, I can't move my arms to turn the steering wheel. The length is short as well. I rated this 1 because of the sizing. The quality is pretty good for the most part, it has lots of pockets which is great and I did keep it because I was in a pinch and needed something but i'm disappointed in myself for keeping it because i should have known better. It is just way!!!!!! to tight of a fit. Also bought a Large regular for someone who wears small and the large was just a little roomy. She should have been swimming in a large but that just comes to show how cheap ll bean in being with their fabric and sizing. And these jackets are not cheap at all. Like i said okay quality but lack of material and very poor sizing... 1! If they are going to make plus sizes... make proper plus sizes so that people can actually wear them.

I bought the old version (fleece lined) for my daughters and wanted one for myself but this version isn't as well made, and no lining? Ick!
Bring back the tried and true LL Bean!

This jacket is stylish and I love the Deep Sapphire color. However, the zipper is backward (left-handed) when the majority of people like me are right-handed. The zipper is also misaligned so instead of being closed when you zip it up, the zipper separates and the clasp slides up only one side.

in the past I always admired LLBEAN for its quality. during my lifetime I purchased many boots, kids backpacks, and other clothing. This rain jacket was the ultimate disappointment! for the price I could have purchased 2-3 rain jackets at local bargain stores! on hindsight I would have returned it but didn't have its package or the time. It will serve as a reminder to read where something is made.

I was very disappointed, didn't think it was worth $99 and unfortunately, I used my $10 gift card from my previous order, so I lost that!

I was surprised that the rain jacket did not fit as I have two coats in my closet that are from llbean. Neither of them are stretchy. I ordered the size up and it was too small. I retook my measurements and looked up your specs and the jacket should have fit. I will not order From you again due to not trusting your size specs.

I loved the concept of this jacket and ordered it for a trip to Europe in the fall. However, the sleeves are extremely tight. I can wear between a 2x and 3x normally so I went with the 3x so it would leave room for a sweater or layered top underneath. I was barely able to get my arms into the coat and no way to move in it. I had my husband even try it on and he said the sizing in the arms and shoulder is way off compared to the rest of the jacket size. I would have ordered a size up but it only goes to a 3x. Very disappointing. I am returning this jacket ASAP. Either make the jacket correct sizing or make larger size options.

I have several LL Bean jackets which I love (great medium size fit for me and outstanding performance qualities), so I thought I had a pretty good barometer of the way their sizes run. Sadly, this rain jacket is a long jacket style which I do not like. The length is super long (and big) and the sleeves are long. As included above, I am 5'7'', 130 pounds, so I'm not short. Other people might like a fit that covers and hits below the butt, but that's not me. I love the abode orange color, but I will be paying the $6.50 return fee.

To say that this "runs somewhat small" is a gross understatement. It runs several sizes smaller than what the size actually is. Leaves no room whatsoever for a "women's chest" (if you know what I mean). Do not buy this unless you are super small and extremely tiny with a very small chest. You would be better off buying the men's version of this coat. The only problem with that is you don't have the nice selection of colors.

I ordered this small coat awhile back. It fit perfect. This new one was too long in the sleeves and too tight to zip. Very disappointed.

Not waterproof as it says. Disappointed as it's a lot of money. Otherwise is a good fit. And well made. I don't like the Velcro as it all sticks to itself.

Very nice jacket and great fit. However it is NOT waterproof. I'm wetter than a fish. Total waste of good money. I'm very disappointed.

I purchased this new style rain jacket but will probably return. It's too fitted. My old trail model rain jacket traditional fit is a regular medium and I have plenty of room for a sweatshirt or my down sweater jacket underneath. A regular medium of the new version is too fitted to put any extra layers underneath. I don't want to feel squeezed into my rain gear. I had to go to a petite large to have room for an extra layer. In the larger size the bottom bells out. I know I can adjust it with the bottom tabs but I don't feel I should have to do that. My suggestion would be to either offer the rain jacket in both traditional and slightly fitted or go back to only traditional fit. I'm sure the fitted style is great for some people but as a 70 year old outdoor adventure person, I prefer to have room to move in my gear.

I purchased this to replace my previous LL Bean rain jacket which has the lining peeling away but has lasted for years. I saw this one was fitted, but figured it would be slimmer through the torso which was ok since my current jacket is roomy. I could barely squeeze my arms in the sleeves, however it zipped just fine around my hips. The arms are disportionately out of size with the rest of the jacket. I loved my other jacket and it has traveled with me through 6 different countries. LL Bean please work on your sizing.

I wanted to like this jacket. It's perfect for those spring shower days. However, the jacket is VERY slim fit. If you're an athlete, don't even bother.
