I've had this jacket for a couple years and the insulation is pilling on the outside of the jacket. It constantly looks like lint is stuck to the sleeves and sides. At first I thought it was fibers from carrying around a fuzzy sweater but it became clear that it was actually the interior insulation that is coming out from inside the jacket itself. Unfortunately because of of the updated return policy there is nothing LL Bean will do. I expected more from a jacket that cost $260.

I purchased this jacket for winter. It does not have much insulation but it is waterproof. It is not tapered. It is probably a decent jacket for early fall or spring time but it is not a winter jacket if you live in a cold region. I live in the northeast. I ended up returning the jacket.

This year's version of the jacket has an inferior outer material that is not worthy of the asking price. Also, the Velcro sleeve cuffs will catch on your sweaters. I returned the jacket.

This was my go-to jacket for traveling and kept me warm and dry on a windy and rainy week in the Netherlands. I got this as a replacement for my packable puffer down jacket from another well-known sports attire company. I bit the bullet and paid 3X what my EB jacket cost since this material was clearly superior. However, after washing it in gentle cycle and following directions on the label, the zipper broke! My EB jacket lasted me for 6 years and survived several washes, while this jacket fell apart in one wash!

I got this coat a year ago thinking it would be a good investment to stay warm with all the winter activities I do. It's fairly warm but I do find I have to layer quite a bit when it gets under 20F. For all The characteristics and reviews I expected it to be warmer. Unfortunately, it tore on hikes almost immediately and I have now patched it three times. Recently the zipper also broke. I think this is really poor quality for only a year old. When I took it to the store, they said they could only send it out to repair. It's been several weeks and I haven't heard anything. Now it's winter and I don't have a coat at all. Not happy with this purchase and will think twice before getting an LL Bean coat again.

I don't know whose body this is supposed to fit. Overly tight in the bust, such that only a thin sweater/shirt would be abel to be worn under it. But then widens excessively down through the waist and especially around the thighs. Would have to have a body like an upsidedown triangle for this to fit right. Liked the fabric and the "packaway" capability. Returned it.

Jacket was too tight to layer. Sleeves about 4 inches too long. I bought a M Petite. Overall I find Petite Sizing to be too long in terms of pants and sleeve length. If I really like what I bought, however, I will have it tailored.

I ended up returning this jacket. I'm sure there is a reason for all of them but there are too many zippers and pulls on this jacket for my taste. In fact the zipper in the armpit didn't lay flat enough for me and it felt like a had a little hard ball there. It's too bad because it seems like a good quality jacket.

I was disappointed in the fit. A petite medium was too tight through the shoulders and bust. Exchanged for a petite large and it was way too loose on the bottom.

If this jacket had a two-way zipper in front, I'd order it for me and for my two sisters. One-way zipper is not good on this style.

I thought this was the perfect jacket I have been Iooking for -- great color, perfect weight, perfect fit with the longer length in the back . . . until you feel those weird zippers underneath the arms. I ordered the next size up hoping I wouldn't feel those uncomfortable zippers but no luck. I sadly had to return it. Please, please make the same style jacket without the zippers!

It was very disappointing in that it didn't keep me warm. I could feel the surface cold coming through the jacket as soon as I stepped outside, it was 24 degrees fahrenheit. It didn't improve. I didn't rate it poor because it was a beautiful coat and wonderful construction, so fair. If you don't live where it gets below freezing it will probably be great for a waterproof coat.

I really love this jacket but it is very very tight across the bust. There is no way that this is an XL. I have always worn a medium or a large in a winter jacket. How I wish it came in plus size. I'm still shopping around for a lightweight jacket with a better fit.

I love this jacket. The fit is great. The waterproof is great. I love the cuffs. I love the hood. BUT: it is cold. My shoulders are cold regardless of the temperature. I am so disappointed it is not warm.

I purposely bought a larger sized jacket, so that I can wear sweaters or other bulkier clothing underneath. Some a few items that bothered me, (1) there is only one large inside pocket but that pocket sags and can be a bit longer or higher up, (2) there is no outer pockets on the chest only the standard pockets on the side, and (3) the stowaway pocket is very deep, almost too deep to use other than as a stowaway pocket. I also assumed that the jacket would be warmer. We recently had a storm and the temperature dropped, the jacket kept me warm, but it was still pretty cold. I would say, would I recommend this jacket to a friend, yes, but I would make them aware of my dislikes of the jacket (sagging pocket, no outer chest pockets, too deep and not very usable stowaway pocket). I would of liked a second inner pocket on the other side of the jacket, as least that way the jacket would be balanced when you're wearing it. Right now, when there are items in the inner pocket, the jacket pulls down on the right side. So good jacket, but not great.

I purchased the same jacket 2 years ago and was so happy with it. It kept me warm during winter. Only needed a down vest undenewth. When it finally wore down. I purchased what I thought was the same jacket. What I received was not The jacket was so thin, it felt like I was wearing tissue paper. I don't know what's happened to LL Bean. They were always so reliable, but the quality has gone down.

Really don't like this new protection that comes over the bottom of the face. Picks up oils, makeup etc. from your face. Wish you would go back to the sampler models you used to make. They were great.

I bought this coat 3 years ago and appreciated the warmth and weight of it very much. However, I am so disappointed now. Last year, I noticed the material between the outside and inside material is coming through and showing on the outside! Tiny little peices of white threadlike material. Looks like lint until you really look and see that you can pull it out. I never expected for this price to have that happen. Now, past the return period I am stuck with it. Very disappointed!

I wear this coat in the winter to walk my dog, not any strenuous activities. After 4 winters of use, the front of the jacket has worn out in the pocket areas. I can't imagine what might have caused this to happen. I was very happy with the jacket until this winter. It is essentially not wearable anymore as it looks terrible (as can be seen in the attachedphotos).

had the jacket a few years, stuffing is starting to pull through the outer layer. Super disappointed for the price charged for this jacket it should hold up for quite some time, not maybe 3 seasons. trying to get a return/exchange, not hopeful considering the current return policy doesnt allow it after 1 year.

The rose wash color is beautiful but the ugly lining completely ruined it. I returned it.

The area under arms where zip vents are, water leaks through when raining. Wore during Disneyland trip. Started raining and while hearing jacket felt wetness under arms. When returned to hotel, took jacket off and a large area under arm pits very wet. Water went though where zipper vents are located.
