A little disappointed that the zipper always catches. Otherwise it keeps me warm.

One way zipper is the dealbreaker for me. Can't reach the rear side zippers, especially if I'm already sitting in the car, and forgot to give myself the room to make wearing this coat comfortable while driving.
I hadn't noticed the one-way zipper when I ordered this jacket. Before it arrived I was bragging to my sister about how you may pay more for LLBEAN products, but they are worth it. We actually had a conversation regarding the zippered pockets and two-way zippers on high quality jackets. I guess I stand corrected.

I was disappointed with purchase. There is no separating zipper down the front. There are 2 rear side zippers which I suppose are to make sitting easier, but they are so awkwardly placed that I couldn't use them when the jacket was zipped. I realize separating zippers can be a nuisance, but this alternative is not an improvement. Also the cuffs show instead of being higher in the sleeve. The purple of the lining clashes with the purple of the jacket. I have always been impressed with the LL Bean quality until now.

Needs reflective piping or strips.. I purchased this for my daughter to use at college, but it seems to be like an invisible cloak. It is very difficult to see her at night. Please add reflectors.

The coat is nicely constructed and fits me well (medium petite) but I wish there were more pockets overall. Also, the very deep inner pocket is much too deep. When I put my Pixel 6 cell phone in there, it rests next to my belly and restricts my movement. It does perform well in the rain. The side pockets are too small for the phone. I prefer the other primaloft jacket I purchased from LL Bean much better!

I really liked this jacket but decided to return it because I found the pit zippers to be uncomfortably stiff

Nice, well-made, great color but I was cold with the warmest sweater I own in breezy 35 degree weather.

I bought this to replace a ski jacket (the waterproofing wore out) that I used 3-seasons as my everyday jacket but also as my travel/hiking/skiing/winter backpacking jacket. I bought it in the spruce pine colorway which is no longer available, but it is my favorite color. The cons almost outweighed the pros, but as I got it on sale and it is super lightweight I decided to keep it. I hope you improve the future models as I would happily buy again if there were some changes.
PROS: It is significantly lighter weight than my old jacket but still sufficiently warm, and I run cold. I agree with the temp rating-it is not super warm if I'm just walking at 25 (and would not be enough if I was just sitting outdoors), but if I'm hiking or walking uphill it is plenty warm. Basically, you have to pair it with appropriate underlayers to get the right insulation level. It seems to be sufficiently waterproof but definitely breathable. Really, the moisture and thermal management properties of this jacket are awesome. I like that the outside doesn't have the puff down quilted look. It is somehow both roomy and flattering (I'm built like a rectangle of small hips and large waist but have a larger bust) The hood is the perfect size to fit over a big winter trapper-style hat (I don't know if it would be big enough for a ski helmet) and the funnel neck is also sufficient to accommodate a big scarf and comes up over my chin. Plus it has a slight brim and can be adjusted around the opening or around the top of the head. I like that it has a waterproof zipper, thus eliminating the need for a flap over it. The hand pocket placement is great and I'm thrilled they have zippers. I love the length, that it comes down all the way over my rear. Armpit zips are necessary for winter jackets for me, so I'm glad they were included.
CONS: Biggest con for me is the lack of exterior chest pocket. I live somewhere really cold and I hate having to open my jacket to get my wallet. I thought the interior chest pocket could work ok instead, but because it doubles as a packaway pocket, it is too deep for me to conveniently reach the bottom. I will have to sew it closed to be shorter. Plus, no matter how many ways I've tried to fold or stuff it, I can't actually get it to fit in the packaway pocket and close the zipper all the way. Honestly, for the light weight and thinness of this, it doesn't need a packaway pocket, you could just lay it flat in your travel bag or stuff it in. The right interior pocket needs a velcro tab or snap so that what you put in it can't fall out so easily (also if it were a bit taller and wider that would be awesome-my last jacket pocket like this could fit a small paperback or my ipad). A two-way zipper on the front would be a GREAT improvement, on the other hand you could make the armpit zips a single zipper (and remove that pesky stretch gusset which just gets caught in the armpit zipper). I don't personally use the butt-flap zippers, I don't need the room, and they are awkward to reach. The adjustor for the back of the hood gets stuck. The zipper also is sticky to open and close so I am worried I will have to replace that. I will probably never bother with the drawstring waist, I wish they didn't even put it in. I really hate the jersey cuffs on the sleeves. They are going to be too warm in fall/spring and they are too small to fit over big winter gloves. I will probably cut mine out.

Unfortunately, had to return it. The jacket ran too narrow and I am not wide but there was no room for another layer to wear underneath it. I was disappointed. I wanted to love this jacket as a replacement for an LL Bean jacket I had worn and loved for years. This didn't work for for me.

Lovely coat, but I returned it because of size. Small usually fits me with Bean clothes. This Small was too tight in shoulders, no room for sweater underneath. In the right size I would recommend it. I am 5'8", weigh 133.

I was impressed with the texture and color of the outer fabric (really nice blue). The comments by staff indicated that while the coat was lightweight, it would be quite warm. I usually take a size large in the LL Bean puffy down coats but this coat has a slimmer fit, so I purchased an extra large. I tried it on in the store but it wasn't till I tried it at home that I didn't think it was flattering when zipped.it would look better on a woman with a slimmer body type than mine. I am 5'3" tall and weigh 153 pounds.

I never thought I'd give an LLBean item less than 4 stars. This coat is well made, with deep pockets, I like the slightly longer length ... but, it's not warm enough. I wore it outside on a 45 degree day and was cool. The coat is true to size, maybe a little roomy. I could fit a fleece under it so it would be warmer but the coat shouldn't require that - it's rated for -25 to 25 degrees. Also, the color is much darker than what is shown online. I realize it's difficult to represent the colors exactly but 'spruce pine' is very dark and frankly, dull looking, and online it's more teal, and brighter.

The hood is not recoverable and the lining in the arms at the cuff hang out so gave it three stars

I wish I liked this coat. It looks nice and fits perfectly, feels well-made and warm, and is very lightweight. However I didn't realize that the underarm vents are zippered. I found this to be very annoying and uncomfortable having a zipper in my armpit. Unfortunately I will be returning.

I have been searching for a lightweight, warm, waterproof jacket for hiking. I came across this in hickory in the store on sale and loved it! Even on sale a bit pricey, but I did splurge and get it. I wore it outside for a walk and plenty comfortable and roomy. BUT...the zipper in the daylight is a weird pinky mauve color that looks awful with the hickory color jacket. I may be picky, but really, to pay this much and have the zipper color not match??? Although I am buying it for hiking, I would use it out and about to work, store, etc. I contacted LL Bean and other than offering to take it back, they did nothing. The other colors were not on sale and $60 more for the same jacket to get a zipper that matches better is way over the limit. I would recommend the jacket but beware of the hickory color. It seems they have a ton of that color left and at the price, they likely will for a while. Too bad.

I wanted to like this jacket, kept it in my closet for several weeks and tried it on often but when rain came and I chose not to use it, I decided to return for something else. It's warm and lightweight, but it just wasn't very attractive on me. The fabric gaps in the back in the waist area and I'm not a fan of the back hemline being longer than the front. The two zippers in the back that zip up from the hemline are just weird and unnecessary - at least I couldn't figure out what they were there for. If the design changes in the future, I would try again because the fabrics and weight were wonderful.

Nice lightweight jacket with a few flaws. Not warm enough to warrant the temperature ratings. It's good for running errands when you're in and out of buildings and cars, but I'd never wear it outside for an extended period of time if it's less than 40 degrees out. I'm a firm believer that all jackets of this length need a two way zipper. No exceptions. This jacket is fine for standing. Not fine for sitting, and the rear zippers are useless. I'm into my second season and still haven't figured out what they're for. It also needs more pockets. The deep inner pocket is way too deep. You have to unzip it all the way to get anything out of the pocket - not what I want to do when it's cold out. On the plus side, I like the coverage (which is why I bought it) and it's roomy enough to wear a fleece under it. I also like the collar which is pretty effective at keeping wind from blowing down my neck.

I ordered it a size larger to fit over a fleece jacket. It fit well. I liked the finish and appearance. The zipper on shoulders is an interesting feature to allow either ventilation or stretch. The jacket did not provide the warmth I needed for Indiana winters. It was 18 degrees but I could not stand comfortably more than 10 minutes on my patio even wearing with fleece. I really wanted to keep this jacket and would have if it were not $249. We are big LLBean fans but it does not fit the low temperature ratings.

Nice material and good fit but I will be returning it. The zippers underneath the arms are thick and bulky so it feels like something is bunched up underneath your armpits. Too bad.

I bought this to take to Iceland because it was advertised as waterproof and good to 25 degrees or minus 25 degrees with light activity. Thank goodness I tried it out in cold rainy weather first. There is no way that this coat would endure the weather in Iceland. It definitely was not worth the money. It's paper thin. If I hadn't tried it out in the rainy weather, I'd return it.

This is a very nice jacket but much lighter than I expected from the description and the fit was snug. I ended up returning it because it just wasn't what I hoped it would be. I would recommend the jacket but with a caution about the fit

I really liked the coat and the fit (I have a pear shape). The problem is that there is an unusual amount of static when worn. I have only tried the coat on 3 times and each time my hair and clothing gets completely staticky. It's not worth keeping the coat to see if it's a temporary issue or going to be a continued problem.

After reading about all the cool features of this jacket and its 5-start reviews, I *so* wanted to love it. But it hung off me like a stiff garbage bag. The materials seem excellent but the design is terrible on me. When I sat down, the front ballooned up, something the rear zippers did nothing to prevent. The big external side pockets are awkwardly placed at the bottom front of the coat, leaving me with large bulges knocking against the front of my legs as I walked. The huge internal chest pocket reaches all the way to the bottom of the jacket, so I couldn't just unzip the top of the coat and reach in. I had to unzip it halfway and stick my entire arm into the pocket to retrieve the phone. Not exactly convenient for cold weather and quick trips to the store; a small external chest pocket would be a great addition to future models. I was hoping this jacket would fit since I have an older LLBean puffer jacket in the same size. What I've learned is that LLBean sizes and cuts are really hit and miss. Some things fit great, and some things make me marvel that bodies that are supposedly the same size could be shaped so differently. I only wish I lived near an LLBean store. Would have been great to try this on in person before buying it.

The overall cut of this coat is ideal. There are alot of nice details. There are imho unnecessary armpit zips but I think PrimaLoft insulation is prone to overheating. But the thing I could not abide was the one-way zipper. For the price point it seems odd that a 2-way zipper was not included. I find being able to adjust from both ends of the zipper a better way to manage temperature. Sadly, I returned it.

The jacket was uncomfortable to wear because the zippers under the sleeve they rubbed when you opened them up. It was more comfortable, but then the jacket was cold. I plan to return the jacket as soon as I possibly can. I'm unable to drive because I'm legally blind I hope I can Get something else instead of that jacket.
