I have been looking for a jacket that is waterproof yet will add warmth on these fall chilly and rainy days. this jacket so far seems to do all of that. The hood also stays on well during a windy and rainy time. The jacket is packable, another plus.

I love this jacket! It's the perfect outerwear for the in-between seasons. It's warm but not too warm. It's waterproof and windproof and has a good hood that is deep enough to keep the rain off my glasses! And the zipper is easy to use (I find some zippers hard to get started).

I generally avoid jackets because they're bulky and restrict movement. This jacket is very light and comfortable. The length is perfect (I wanted a jacket that covered my bum) and I like the back zippers -- it makes sitting in the car easier. I wanted a light, packable jacket for when I travel and when I walk the dog (can take off and cram in bag) and this is the perfect size/weight. I haven't tested it in really cold weather (freezing and below) because it hasn't arrived yet. For extra cold weather, I bought the Bean's Sweater Fleece Coat (very nice, went up a size for layering) which fits under the jacket, although it's about an inch longer than the jacket (will it get wet in rain?). Sizing: I purchased my usual size and I'm able to get at least 3 layers (t-shirt, long sleeve, thin to medium sweater) under the jacket.

Finally wore my new jacket today. I love it. It is comfortable, warm and kept me dry. I ordered a petite xl, 1 size up, to allow room for sweater underneath.

I bought this for trips to Ireland and New Zealand. It was perfect! It kept me totally dry and the insulation kept me warm. I layered a lightweight fleece underneath when a surprise light snow appeared in New Zealand. It isn't bulky yet surprisingly warm. Even though it is packable and folds into its own pouch, I just folded it in half and placed in my suitcase. It also worked well in high winds. I ended up buying the black and also the blue in Petite Medium and it fit perfectly!

I love my new coat, it is super warm but not heavy. It is so light you forget you have a coat on. I love that it is waterproof, and has a hood. Especially on windy or rainy days. I get lots of compliments on it. I would gladly recommend this coat to anyone and give this coat a five star rating.

My husband and I just took our PrimaLoft travel jackets to Ireland and the UK for an August/September trip where temperatures ranged from the 40s to 70s and the weather changed every 5 minutes. These jackets exceeded our expectations. They kept us warm despite being thin (and we live in Arizona so we get cold easily). They were comfortable in warmer temperatures too, and easy to stuff in a daypack when we needed to take them off. They kept us totally dry during downpours, and we especially appreciated how the hoods stayed put yet didn't feel restrictive in very windy conditions. My only complaint is that the men's version has handy chest pockets which were not on the women's version, and I was jealous that my husband's PrimaLoft had such handy pockets for hotel keys. There is still plenty of pocket space in the women's version but I don't understand why the men's version has more pockets in this day and age. Nevertheless, I think these are perfect travel jackets - especially for those who travel light - and they performed better than any jackets we have ever owned in wind and rain. I rarely write reviews but as someone who appreciates finding the right items for one bag travel, I felt compelled to let others know this is a worthy contender.

This is a beautiful winter coat. It is lightweight and will pack easily, plus it's waterproof! I had to send my first coat back. It was too snug to wear layers underneath. The new one fits perfectly! I chose the purple color and it's a gorgeous shade.

Bought this to go to Iceland. It fits very slim, not bulky, quite attractive. And does the job perfectly. I was comfortable in cold and wind and rain.

I bought this jacket to bring with me to Alaska. It was packable and you can also roll it up and stuff it into an inside pocket. It doesn't get real small - maybe the size of a football. It has lots of pockets, a hood and unzips both ways, top and bottom. It's warm and lightweight. I highly recommend!

This is a well made midweight thigh-length jacket that works well at insulating against temps down to the low 40's, and is water proof and has some wind resistance. It is light weight and packable, and worked well on our recent spring trip to Toronto, Canada on all but the coldest and windiest days.

Great jacket! Just returned from a trip overseas and wore this jacket almost every day. It kept me warm on cold windy days in the 40's. I wore it to the airport then squished it into my carry-on duffel for the flight. Well placed pockets, nicely designed hood. Highly recommend.

This jacket is a bit longer and bigger the unlined waterproof shell I have from LLBean, which is good as I wear it with the sweater fleece jacket. With both of those, it is warm enough in weather in the 30s with wind. The zip pockets are big enough for fleece gloves and hat and the inside pockets useful too. I would only question why the knit cuffs as well as velcro at the sleeve hem? If you need enough cooling for zip pits, you probably want the option of the chimney effect of air through the sleeves too. I may trim them off, but will see about how I feel in warmer weather. Have not had much waterproof testing as yet, but so far so good. .

I originally bought this jacket about three years ago in purple. Aside from day-to-day use and let's say spring or autumn here in New York. I bought it primarily for travel. Was perfect going to Iceland in September and Alaska in August. Leaving soon to take another trip to Japan and I got the The off-white color because I wanted it to be a little bit more spring looking. I have definitely worn it in the rain and I was dry. Yay!

Jacket fits well and looks stylish and is warm without being too bulky. It has a sufficient amount of pockets. It was perfect for some mild weather at Vail and Keystone without needing under layers. It's a bit pricey, but LLBean stands behind their guarantee, so it was a good buy,

This is the third time I have purchased this same jacket. It fits well, is incredibly comfortable, warm enough for all but the coldest weather and looks great. I have recommended it to other friends. I purchased a Petite Medium which fits well even over layers.

The perfect in-between jacket for a northeast winter. I like the lighter weight and the fact that it's waterproof. With its packability it will become my favorite travel jacket as well.
