Very well made and sturdy material. This is NOT a light weight jacket so not your usual "wind breaker " nylon. But great for rainy fall days.

Perfect for my day pack, light but works great in the rain and wind.

I'm writing this review after having this jacket for 3 years. At first I loved it. Good fit. I like the Velcro closure over the zippers. Overall I was very pleased. But after 3 years (I've worn it maybe 15 times at most), it is no longer waterproof. Water seeps through and my clothes get wet. I expected greater longevity from a Bean product.

Lightweight jacket, but the center zipper flap and pocket flaps use velcro. I'm not a fan of velcro for flap enclosures. It really is good for straps, but no much else. Also, the jacket, maybe because it is waterproof, does not breath so you can become soaked from condensation on the inside, even in winter because of a vigorous walk or hike.

Waistline seems an unnecessary option; large size does nor accommodate a sweatshirt through the sleeves. Ordered an extra-large.

Good looking, well made windbreaker but color in not accurate. Too many velcro strips make it hard to zip & unzip.

I don't understand why when you have a zipper down the front, you have Velcro as well. I guess it's to prevent rain from coming in. But it makes it very hard to take the coat off and on. Also, they don't put zippers on the side pockets, and things will not stay in there securely with just Velcro. What a shame.

The sizing seems a bit small compared to other size large jackets I've bought from LLBean. I'd exchange for an XL but for fear it would be huge on me, and the rigamarole of exchanging multiple times by UPS is unappealing. Beyond that, the jacket is exactly as described.

Disappointed in this jacket. Everything I've ordered from LLB has been great except for this. I wear an XL and often the arm length is too long. The elastic at the end of the sleeves is not tight enough and I have to roll up the sleeves. Disappointed.

It will do the job but it's not as nice as I thought it would be given LL Beans normal quality in things like pants, shirt's and tee's.

Wanted a jacket that was constructed so the hood would fold into the collar. From the catalog, I thought it did. Not so. Sent it back.

Light and packs small. Mostly waterproof. Velcro that keeps the pockets closed is confrontational to the hand. Overall good for travel etc .

Why the 3 XL regular size of these jackets is tighter around the waist than the Poly fleece 3XL jackets is beyond me. This is the second similar jacket I have returned for the same reason. While the fleece jackets are perfect, the nylon jackets always seem to be 2 XL rather than the 3 XL size they are listed as. I'm really disappointed that the sizes are not standard across the brand.

I normally wear size Tall-XL. Fortunately, based on reviewers, I ordered a Tall-XXL in addition to the Tall-XL. The Tall-XL was indeed undersized in body fit and sleeves are too short. I have 'free" return shipping but seems like a waste of LLBean resources as a result of poor manufacturing/marketing specs. Also beware that the mesh lining can get easily stuck on and damaged by the velcro tabs along the front zipper area. Aside from inaccurate sizing, the jacket is styled well. The overall length is great for keeping you drier than most rain slickers. Will be travelling soon and report whether it is truly waterproof.

The sizing is way off, wear and XL in everything and this was uncomfortably snug. The XXL is good. Otherwise I like the windbreaker.

Tighter cut around the butt/waist than even Carhartt. Jacket didn't have a "big" size so I returned it.

Jacket was returned because it was too small. I wish the jacket was made in an XXL. The color and style was awesome.

Runs very very small. I typically wear a women's XL or a men's M but I expected I would need to size up in order to wear layers. I didn't expect to size up to a men's XXL. Even then, it was tight in the shoulders until I found a style with raglan sleeves. Nice deep velcro pockets and one large inside zippered pocket. It was used in light to moderate rain and I was dry. Had to wear a baseball cap to keep the hood from falling in front of my face.

Wore this in a light rain for a short time. Went right through. I have no use for rainwear that doesn't keep out rain.

I wear regular extra-large and usually I don't have any problems with (short sleeve) shirts and sweaters. However, this jacket runs way too small: only with difficulty I was able to insert my arms in the sleeves (very tight in the shoulders!) and then I got stuck! My arms were too big for the tiny sleeves. I spent a few minutes trying to slide out of the jacket (the fleece sleeves didn't help!). I have returned the item. I was tempted to get the XXL size, but the sleeve would have been too long for me (I am 5"9'). On the positive side, the jacket gave me the impression of being of good quality.

Shoulders were too tight for what was listed as XL. Otherwise quality was fine, but I had to return the jacket because of sizing. I do resent that I had to pay postage to return the item, and so will not be purchasing online again from L.L. Bean.

Much too tight across the shoulders and chest(It was a XXL too !), otherwise a well made jacket.
