LL Bean used to be a trusted outdoor clothing supplier .. now 90% of what they sell is slimmed down fitted nonsense that is useless for layering and is poorly styled to the normal human body .. I am 5' 10" tall and 180#, a classic male large who historically has always been fit well in LL Bean classic fit large .. it has become almost impossible to find anything at LL Bean that is their traditional outdoor clothing fit suitable for layering .. this windproof Mountain Classic fleece is no different .. even the extra large is way too snug in the shoulders and armholes and balloon like around the stomach and waist .. LL Bean has totally lost its way ..

Medium which I normally wear is way to big and baggy. Requested an exchange for a small and waiting to receive. Not sure if it will work. Ran into this same scenario 4 or 5 years ago when I had ordered a different fleece jacket from Bean. Small fit my body well however circumference of sleeves especially upper arms is extremely tight. Saw another review where someone said Bean seems to be putting two separate sizes into one garment. Quite frustrating.

I'm an XL. Have always been my whole life. Occasionally, a garment comes along that is 2 different sizes rolled into one like this one. I was hoping this would be ideal for layering underneath it to use in pretty cold weather (but not subzero) being that it's windproof & all. I opened the package upon arrival, put on a flannel shirt which would be probably average layering I'd use, sometimes more sometimes less. I had to struggle to pull the sleeves of the jacket on over the flannel, leaving the flannel shirt bunched up at my elbows. The sleeves were also a tad too short for my liking by about an inch. The body fit like a true XL. Apparently QC is not what it used to be at LL.

Was two sizes too small. The quality was perfect but I couldn't wear it which resulted in a return.
