Love the parka fit and warmth but have the following comment. I have had Parkinson's disease for 10 years now and find that starting to zip up the front of the parka is difficult, both because it's hard to see the zipper components and because the flaps covering the zipper get in the way. Perhaps use a different color for the front zipper to make it easier to see?. Love all the inside and outside pockets to keep my hands free!

I gave this coat 4 stars as it appears to be well made; however, if I were grading it on wamth, I would have graded it at 2-3 stars. I wore a Bean winter coat for years until the zipper gave up. This coat looked good, and the reviews said that it was warm. A few weeks ago, it was 34 degrees outside in Indiana, and I decided to wear my new coat. After 10 minutes, my back was freezing, and I had to return to add a layer. I wonder if the coat is missing insulation at the upper back and shoulders. Today at 34 degress, I had to layer with a puffer jacket to get the warmth needed. I expect to layer a winter coat, but not until the temp is, at least, down in the teens. The coat has all appearances of a winter coat, but at best, it is a late fall coat. My intention is to return this product for a warmer product.

I bought this for cold weather ski days. I usually just layer up under a shell, but I wanted something warmer. The parka is beautifully made. I'ts long, has a double separating zipper and good pockets. Even has a Goggle Specific pocket inside. However the detachable hood is NOT CUT TO FIT OVER A SKI HELMET.

Good looking coating using high quality material except the zipper

Super warm, two-way zipper, internal ribbed cuffs, car-coat length, removable hood, LLB customer service personal recommendation - all really great features. But with the hood removed, the remaining collar was neither a true stand-up nor a nice lie down (I prefer the latter) - not well-behaved IMO.

We bought this for my 87 year old Dad for his daily walks with the dog. It keeps him warm, and he really likes it. He did share that the visor on the hood comes down too low, and so he is not using the hood. He wears a separate hat instead. He is known to have a big head, so I think this might be an issue with the design.

Very well made and is totally waterproof so far, although not been in heavy rain yet. Not too warm for me, in Oregon. Couple things i don't like are the velcro front closure catches on cuff's velcro all the time and i am not a fan of double zippers at front.

I needed a new jacket/parka so i chose this rugged one.

Have lived in Maine for 24 years and have owned several winter coats during this time. As an avid skier I have skied in all conditions and temps. With only a base layer and this Rugged Ridge Parka I have stayed warm on coldest of days, and comfortable in Spring conditions. It is clearly the most versatile wither coat I've ever owned.

Great coat! It's lightweight, warm, looks great, and fits great. The only problem is the zipper. It's hard to get it zipped without it getting jammed or misaligned. I just bought a different LL Bean coat for my granddaughter and it has the same problem. Please fix this issue, LL Bean. If not for the zipper problem, this would be the perfect coat.

Daily coat for fall and winter. reliable as a truck. I Iiked the zipper pockets and the space inside for a bulky sweater. But it's plenty warm. It's the kind of coat you can throw on over a t-shirt before going outside.

This is a great parka for cold weather. It fits really well, and has a great hood that doesn't get in the way when it's not being used. My only recommendation would be to make the front main zipper larger. I have trouble sometimes in getting the zipper started. I think a larger zipper would make it easier, particularly when wearing gloves. All in all, though, an excellent parka for those really cold days.

Super warm and comfortable. The zipper is a bit odd and hope it hold up. Some times it's very hard to start.

This is a great jacket with one problem. The right sleeve cuff keeps getting stuck to the velcro patches on the bottom storm flap that covers the zipper when the jacket is unzipped. The sleeveis fraying. I plan to remove the velcro to save the sleeve. Otherwise this is one of the best jackets I have ever owned.

Very warm coat. I wish the pocket zippers were oriented the opposite direction though. The main zipper can be tough to get started

Nice fit & functionality. Very warm. Low quality, small main zipper. The rest of it is nice enough I'm keeping the coat, but it feels like a major blemish on an otherwise terrific coat.

V comfortable and warm. 2 way zipper nice touch. Excellent value for the price. Really!

Great Coat but for the zipper. I had to return my first because the bottom zipper continually jammed when lifted up alone when the top zipper was "up". My second coat's bottom zipper does not jam but will not raise up (see above) unless I am raising with my right hand and holding down the right half of the coat with my left hand. Other than that I love the coat and will keep it. Special recognition of the lining in the sleeves that serve as cuffs. I also own the Maine Warden's (?) coat (much warmer) and have no issues with its' double zipper.

I purchased this to replace one that I bought probably 15 years from a Bean competitor. That one was also lightweight, but was warmer than this one. Today I was out shoveling snow in 12 degree weather, and I was surprised to feel the cold. It wasn't a deal breaker, I just thought this would also be warm. I'll just have to wear a sweater under it and I'm sure it will work out. I do like the looks and the hood works well protecting from the cold.

Very good and well made cold weather coat. The hood is insulated, which is outstanding for extra warmth. Lots of pockets to fill with snacks, because this coat makes you want to go out and get stranded in a snow storm. The only drawback is that it doesn't have vents under the arms, so any activity in this coat where you get warm, you will perspire, and be unzipping to cool down.

I've had this coat for several years and really like it. The zipper however is very poor. When I called to send it back I was asked if I thought it was a warranty issue. Why wouldn't it be? It was replaced with the same low quality zipper. It also failed. I'll be taking to a sew shop and have a heavy zipper put on. I'm not the only one with this issue but it seems to fall on deaf ears.

Needs more zip pockets inside and out for safe storage if gizmos. Also zip vents for arm pits. Larger hood to go over the helmet. Other wise built tough like my old one of 10 years

Good warm coat with comfortable style. But they got rid of the upper chest pockets this coat used to have a few years ago which was a disappointment.
