The sweater is great except for the Tall sizing. I'm a 6' 2" tall dude with a long torso and I wear my pants low on the hips, but this thing still comes down past the crotch in my pants and fits kinda like a mini skirt for men. The problem that I have with most Regular size shirts is that the sleeves are too short but that is NOT the case with this sweater. The sleeves on the Med Regular fit great. See pics for comparison between Regular and Long...

Somewhat fair quality. I shop at LL Bean,(have been for years), but the quality of this one, I am not sure. I almost returned it after one wear. I just didn't want the hustle.

I love LLB but their sizes are everywhere. I went through the thing on their website to determine correct size. They said medium was a perfect fit. I am a 40reg and the site said this is for 38-40. Wrong. My wife started laughing when I put it on. It looked like the time I was 7 and had to wear my dads sweater. HUGE. Hung on me like a dress. Now I'm out 6.50 sending something back that should have been labeled with an L instead of an M. Maybe I should have ordered a small? If you like a slimmer fit definitely do not buy this sweater in your normal size. Aside from that the construction of the sweater was excellent. Boy did I want that thing to fit!

This is it. I'm just giving up on L.L. Bean. Half of their stuff is now made overseas and the sizes are enormous. Seriously I'm not a tiny man--I can wear a Banana Republic medium sweater--but an L.L. Bean small makes me look like a 10 year old in Daddy's clothes. Seriously, we're not all Vikings out here. That said, I'm giving the sweater 3 stars because I really love the color of the ragg wool and nobody else seems to make it.

I recently purchased a few different sweaters, this one included, and while they are well made the sizing is laughable. Based on the guide and previous experience I bought an XL Tall but, as another reviewer has said, they look like dresses they are so long. Trying to figure out what size to get next will be the tricky part.

It fits bigger than a large should fit.

Nice and comfy, but too long, makes it look too casual.

The knitting is a very loose weave and I can feel the air rush through as I walk. It's mildly itchy but nothing too bothersome, feels like rough yarn. Seems like the sweater could use a light shrink to tighten everything up. Might be worth sizing up with that in mind. The fit is boxy and I wish they had a small / tall option.

It's nice and comfortable; however, it's really large, especially in the arms. A small in any other brand usually fits me but I am swimming in this sweater.

Ditto from another review. Smells like a wet dog, even after washing and laying outside for 2 days. I've been buying from LLBean for over 30 years, and this is the first item I have not been 100% satisfied with. I am returning this sweater and will look for another option. 3 stars because I love LLBean and the easy return policy, but not the sweater itself.

This sweater is perfect for the outdoors on a cold winter day. Good quality yarn. Looks great. I gave it only three stars because I ordered a large size as I always do for shirts and sweaters, and this one is too big. Especially the arms, which are a good 2 inches longer than normal.

Nice looking sweater and definitely warm, but at 6 ft tall and around 180 lbs the medium feels like an unshapely large

Very loose weave; not as warm or durable as a traditional (tighter weave) sweater.

Returned because it was much larger than expected and not up to the quality of LL Bean's products over the years.

I bought the same sweater a year ago in another color and it was absolutely perfect. However, in the year sense it appears both the material & production quality has decreased significantly. Wool is way scratchier, the fit is super different (baggier than previous), and the knitting is worse (if I hold it up to the light, I can see right through!!). I noticed this when I tried on in the store and thought it was just a QA issue. Now that it's the same as what I bought - I see LLBean made changes.

Sorry, I really want to love an American brand with such great customer service, but this is so baggy for a small. Also the color was so blah. I would love LL Bean if they had extra small sizes or slim fits (preferably extra slim). I am 5,6 and 150 lbs. Is that so uncommon? Also, the restocking fee has me not want to take a risk ever again. Such kind and helpful representatives on the phone though.

This sweater is not the same quality as previous Raggwool sweaters that I have purchased from LL Bean. The wool is not as heavy in weight, and the sweater fits tighter than previous Raggwool sweaters that I have bought.

Too many imperfections on material/ manufacturing. 1 is ok to push on inside with wool, but 3 to 4 is not llbean usual quality.

Welcome to the new world: products less dense for a higher price. Use for 1-2 seasons rather than 10. Product picture has a man with t-shirt showing underneath for those disappointed in thickness. The calculation and deception overwhelm me as I give up hope while still keeping hope. I ordered this sweater cuz I thought it might be comparable to an old and beloved LL one. The US is now a minimal value maker of products, just enough!

Sizing is everything. I am an ordinary compact guy 5'9, 160, pretty fitand I could go swimming in the size Small. If you're a lumberjack you can probably find nice enough clothes here & the sweater is a handsome wool

The sweater was way to big and baggy for a medium and therefore I had to return it.
