Love the fit and feel of the robe. Somewhat heavy but luxuriously warm. HOWEVER, after about 6 uses the threads started coming apart on the lap and back as well as sleeves and showed wear around the collar. Called ll Bean to share concerns and they are replacing it with new one slightly different color along with return mailer to return first robe. Also we agreed that if the replacement shows the same quality as the original I can return 2nd robe for full refund. Let's hope not as I really like the product if it can simply hold together.

Seems not made as well as other products I have gotten from you before. Its not bad but I guess for the $$ I expected a better made robe as there are loose threads. A bit of a disappointment.

Nice robe but got it for my son 3 weeks ago to take it back to college and he just brought it home for pocket and belt loop already needing to be repaired. The last LLBean men's robe lasted 6 years (bought too small but grew into it, wore for years, then grew out of it!) . A little disappointed as not typical of LLBean products.

Robe is very nice except for the hanging loop at the neck. Almost immediately, it came apart. My wife has yet to figure out how to reattach it and have it last for any length of time. i'm back to wearing my old Land's End robe.

Beware this is not like the cotton terry we used to get. It pulls like crazy. The sleeves are already a mess and I only purchased it one month ago. Other than that, it's beautiful, fits well and is warm.

LL Bean took their beautiful Turkish terry cloth bath robe and ruined it. The older one I had was real absorbent terry cloth. This new one is not absorbent and it doesn't have the same feel as the old one!
Sorry LL but you missed the mark on this one!
Would not recommend.

Robe too heavy and too thick. Collar gets in the way while shaving. Robe showing signs of shredding, seeing lint on sink top. Unfortunately will be returning. Very surprised at this, we love LL Bean products.

Nice material but too short. The last robe I bought from ll bean was over ten years ago and it held up well. It was down to my ankles and kept me warm at camp. This new one is at the middle of my legs and doesn't keep me warm, If I had known, I would have bought a different one. I checked back with Bean's and they don't sell a long one anymore. Bought one for my wife at the same time, and it comes down to her ankles. My wife said I should have gone to another place

Now that I've worn this robe longer than I did for an earlier review, I'd like to update my review by saying...this is a very thick and heavy robe. The product description doesn't make this clear enough. While it is well made, it is too substantial to wear in a warm climate and is uncomfortable. It is definitely a cold winter robe.

The robe itself is very good. However, I had purchased a custom embroidery along with it, and the back of the embroidery still had felt that was poorly cut and stuck out around the edges. I prefer no felt, but if you're going to use it at least make it look nice. I had better embroidery done at a local shop, and from LLBean I would expect exceptional quality. The front of the embroidery, I don't know how to describe it? There is grey paint/fibers around it, which I tried my best to clean it off but there are still some remnants. I had to try to fix the back by cutting around the felt to make it look cleaner, but I was very nervous I would cut the cloth underneath. I'm so glad I caught this before gifting this piece because I would have been soooo embarrassed to give this less than subpar work to someone. For $130 + $ for embroidery, I would expect this to be perfect right out of the box, but I was stuck with fixing the mess I had received.

I bought this as a gift for my husband. When it arrived today, my first thought was to wash it. I should have done a thorough check of the robe first because when I took it out of the dryer I found out one of the belt loops is broken. It's too late to return it, so I will have to fix the loop myself. I can sew, but the problem is this requires sewing through 3 layers of thick terry cloth. I expect better when I spend this much money for an item from LL Bean.

This robe is as heavy and comfortable as you would expect it to be. In that regard, it was worth the wait (6 weeks, although other colors were more readily available). Unfortunately, the second day I wore it I noticed the extremely poor quality of the fabric. There were several areas where the fabric was frayed. I have always associated the Bean name with quality products but this is the quality I would expect from a second-hand store, not LL Bean. I should have returned it but then all I would have is more aggravation and no robe.

I received this for Christmas and have worn it only 4 or 5 times and the material is falling apart. Very disappointed with this item. I have been a customer for over 20 years and have never had an incident like this with anything I have purchased. I'm sure they will make this right but what a pain to return and have to reorder because they choose a lessor quality material to use on a premium produce at premium pricing. Look through all the reviews and you will see this is an issue and has been for some time.

Bought this for my husband for Christmas. He has worn it only three times and the ends of the sleeves are fraying.

Terry Cloth Material was less than expected based on the price of the robe.

For the price not in impressed with the material quality! The sleeve is fraying on the actual material in less than a week. Pretty disappointing actually. Other than that the fit is good and so is everything else. Just subpar material.

The robe fits well and is comfortable but had a significant manufacturing flaw. A small patch of threads were hanging and had to be cut causing a gap in the surface. I would expect more for the price but it's not bad enough to deal with a return.

This purchase was to replace the same robe model/design which provided over 20 years of serviceable wear. I was expecting that the replacement would measure up to the LL Bean quality standard as well.
My disappointment is centered on the quality of the yarn which is pilling, fuzzing, and linting after just two months of use. These effects are most noticeable on the cuffs and collar.
It is evident that the yarn utilized is lower-grade, consisting of short 'staples' which is a measure of the length of the individual fibers which form the strands of yarn. Long staple yarn is essential to avoid the fiber separation I am experiencing.
The construct is fine, although the terry consists of smaller loops which presents as more of a suede finish.
Nutshell: An OK robe which will show wear fast and with prevalence.

Seemed like a very nice, plush robe. However, within a few weeks of purchase the material developed snags across the entire front of the robe. The material seems to be coming apart. There is a fundamental flaw in the terrycloth itself and you can expect it to look raggedy in less than a month.

I am a big fan of products that last a long time. I go out of my way to seek out manufacturers that deliver products that are not engineered to fail. I read on reddit that this robe is one of the toughest.
Well I spent the money, had it monogrammed and everything. One wash and one month into the purchase and the stitching in the pocket is coming undone. LL Bean says that they can do a return but it looks like i'm paying for shipping... I'll probably just stitch it back up and be done with it.
But it speaks to a quality issue. I ordered a nice pair of slippers for my wife also, and 6 months in the soles started coming apart. I reglued them and moved on. But this will be me last purchase from L.L. Bean.

My husband's worn this for a few weeks, and loves the coziness, but there are threads pulling out all over it, and the fabric is shedding so much it looks like an old trusty friend so it's going to be hard to separate the two of them.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas, and at first, it seemed like a good purchase. However, now that he's worn it a few times (and we haven't even washed it yet!), there are many unraveled threads all over, not just at the seams, but everywhere. It looks like it's literally falling apart. You'd think by looking at it that it's been laundered and worn many times, so we're both extremely disappointed. I would not recommend this robe to anyone!
