My son has been wearing these his whole life, so it's a Christmas staple. He likes the way they feel and they don't shrink or stretch out of shape. The colors are also perfect for him.

I buy this shirt for my husband every year for Christmas. He loves them. He wears them all throughout the Fall/Winter and once they get a stain they become a work shirt. I'm pretty sure if I did not buy him one every year I would get the "I didn't get a River Driver Shirt this year!?" Haha. Oh another Pro for the shirt is that they are offered on Tall sizes!

My husband loves this Two-Layer Henley. It says to dry flat but I can't do that so I dried it in the dryer. It did cause a little shrinkage in the width but still good. He got a tall size and the sleeves and length are generous. If you dry flat there probably would not be shrinkage.

This is a fantastic shirt. I purchased a men's small since llbean doesn't have the women's style anymore and I am 6' tall and need the arm length. I have been wearing it all the time, through single digit temps or just hanging around the house. It provides a good layer of warmth all by itself. Because a layer is wool, if you throw it in the dryer it will shrink, so try to lay it flat...you will be happy you did. Having said all that, it does fit better for a man's frame and not a woman's. I do wish llbean would seriously consider bringing back the woman's style (and maybe tall sizes). I would buy every color in a heartbeat. It's that great a shirt!

Nice shirt, very warm and a great fit and good for layering. I want to buy a few more, however, my wife suggests that I wait until after XMAS...

My husband loves the River Driver henleys! He lives in them all winter, we order a new one or two every year. I order them in tall, because when he does the laundry he puts them in the dryer! They shrink a bit in length when he drys them,ordering in tall makes that okay.(If you line dry them, the length does not shrink.) He is 5' 10" tall. They are true to size. My husband is 182 lbs and we order the large. My favorite color on him is the navy. They are great for at home and casual wear out. Highly recommend them for warmth and comfort in the cold northern winters here in Wisconsin!

My husband has been wearing the 2 layer river driver's shirts for a number of years. Now that he gets cold easier, I purchased two more. The fit is true to size and they wear well. LLBean used to make these two layer shirts for women but the henleys they now sell are not two layer; they are thin and advertised as being very soft. I want warmth; softness isn't a selling point! Bring back the heftier flannel shirts and two layer henleys for women!!!

I've bought these shirts before, they fit well, and feel great. Just the right thickness to keep you warm without sweating. Can be worn by itself, or over a shirt.

Being about 25% wool these make a good base layer on cold days.You should not have a problem with itchiness unless you are very sensitive to wool. I own 5 of these so I guess you could say that I like them.

Bought two of these for my guy. He loves them, has several and wants more. He likes them layered under his wool shirts, when cold and alone in cooler weather. He's worn them for several years and continues to like them.

These are the third and fourth river driver shirts I have owned from L.L. Bean. The first two(a green one and a navy one) were literally falling apart at the seams before I replaced them The downside for L.L. Bean is that I haven't bought one for the last 20 years. The upside is that L. L. Bean has a customer for life and I have had a comfy two layered shirt for the long haul. These shirts are wool on the outside and cotton on the inside. This is a good thing because wool makes me itch like crazy. No itching with these shirts. My new shirts(red and navy) seem to have a longer tail. The directions say cold water wash which I am good with but doing so may make these shirts last longer than 20 years.

Great quality Henley. I believe it it's a cotton/wool blend, so it was plenty warm for my husband. He is tall and thin and the size Large fit him perfectly, even in the sleeve length.

This is a regular gift as the person loves the shirt for winter wear.

I bought this January, 2016 based on review, and referred to as a Logger's shirt. I use this for casual, sleep on cold nights, performing (musician on weekends), working in yard, night out, and like it so much I just ordered another one (Dec 2016). Very comfortable. Wash and hand dry. I will try i out skiing this winter. I normally wear wool next to my skin, but will try this with the wool/cotton blend and see how it does. If my 20-something son takes it while home for Christmas, I'll order another.

I bought this for my husband and he loved it so much, I got another. He likes the lightweight warmth of the two layers and the fit is great altho the berry one is a touch smaller.

The two-layer River Driver's traditional fit henley is really great. The cotton lining means it's not scratchy, and the wool exterior means it's warm. My husband lives in these shirts during the winter. A note about sizing: the shirt appears humungous out of the package, but it really shrinks up if you put it in the dryer, so if you're going to do that, I recommend the tall version (in your usual S-M-L-XL) size) for pretty much anyone even if the person isn't tall.

This is the second shirt ordered for my husband. He is pleased with the fit, snug but not too tight, warmth, yet light weight. Though it can't be tossed in the dryer it does dry quickly lying flat. We definitely recommend.

I'm a fan of Henley's because I prefer space around my neck. I think they're the perfect cool/cold weather compliment to jeans and being comfortable. The construction of this Henley is great. It's extremely comfortable. Feels good to the touch. Lays well. I like it so well this is now the fourth I've purchased and will probably get a few more as new colors come out. The only way to make this any better would be to lower the price some. However, the cost is probably not unreasonable for what you get.
