Really disappointed in the quality of this shirt. Resembled something you would get off the sale rack at Walmart. Scratchy material, threading loose at seams. Not what I expect from LLBean. Returned immediately.

Washed upon arrival to see if it would improve the flimsy feel of the fabric and was disappointed to find that the edges of the neck opening pilled, the fabric came out rough feeling even with Downy in the wash, plus it shrank and the hem became wavy. The shirt is not hemmed but has a line of overlock stitching run across the bottom with a long tail of thread left on. After washing, the bottom of the shirt shrank but the stitching did not, so it was wavy and buckled. This is not the quality I expect from this company in textile choice and garment construction, especially for this price.

It was a bit thicker than I wanted, but the main complaint is that the outer layer of the shirt does not seem like a soft merino wool blend, but a courser rougher slightly scratchy type of wool. I do fine with the soft merino type of wool. This shirt does NOT have that type of wool. it is better than nothing in cool weather, but NOT what I expected

This shirt shrank and looked awful coming out of the dryer. Who would buy a shirt, or what man rather, that couldn't be thrown into the dryer. I hang dry all of my tops, but who really has time for that? I was very disappointed, as I gave my boyfriend 3 of these for Xmas, and he test washed/dryed one, and lo and behold, it shrunk. The shirts did not seem to be very thick or durable before washing. For $50 a pop, I expected a heartier material. LL Bean has gone the way of all other clothing stores. Thin, and poorly made. Returned the shirts a few weeks ago and have yet to hear anything.

Let me start by saying I love LLBean. I have purchased quite a bit from them over the years and have come to trust the online descriptions and quality of their products.
However, I purchased 2 of the "Two-Layer River Driver's Shirt, Traditional Fit Henleys" as Christmas gifts. As a test before wrapping the gifts, my husband tried on the medium, regular fit henley. He has a slim build, and while this shirt fit fine in the shoulders and was a good length, it is too slender in the torso for him. I can't imagine this will ever be a shirt my brother and brother-in-law will reach for after the initial wearing. This is NOT a traditional fit. At best, this is a "slightly fitted" Henley. I am disappointed and now have to pay to have these items shipped back. I recommend the description be updated to reflect reality.

My husband has been looking for a warm long sleeve tee shirt to wear under his flannel shirts during the winter. We frequently purchase from LL Bean, but this tee shirt was a disappointment. My husband is 6.0' and 162 pounds. He is definitely on the thin side. however, this tee shirt was tight in the arms and along his sides. In addition, the bottom of the shirt has a raw edge. We ordered 3 tee shirts and all 3 had raw edges. The stitching was coming unraveled. Not impressed. I had to pay $6.50 to ship it back. Not a happy customer.

Who would have ever thought that a casual shirt couldn't be thrown in the dryer? I didn't read washing instructions, admittedly, but why would I have thought to? It's a casual henley. It came out of the dryer looking horrible. Money wasted.
