The flannel this shirt is made of is substantial, not thin and flimsy but not stiff either. It really is quality fabric. This wears more like a jacket than a shirt, but it still can be worn as a shirt. My husband loves it and he hates everything I buy him!

Fantastic shirt! It's super soft and heavy. I was concerned because I read these shirts are prone to shrink, and expressed that to the nice lady who worked there. She said to make sure it's washed in cold water, on a low speed, and dry on low. Great customer service and a fantastic product. Will buy again!

It's like wearing a blanket. It fits a little bit larger, but you'll prefer it for that after wearing it a bit. It's not oversized, it just has room for a thick long sleeve underneath. The only downside is that there are limited color options. The women's variation has far better choices for colors. There are a couple colors in the women's line that I'm surprised don't exist for the men's line. Regardless, this is definitely the best flannel shirt you can get from LL Bean. I purchased this alongside one of the Scotch Plaid Portuguese cotton flannels and this shirt has held up far better. A year later and it's still soft and hasn't shrunk at all. The $10 premium for this shirt is well worth it. My only gripe is the limited color selection. I really wish they would expand it and give us more variations (especially the Bright Red, Cream/Gray Heather, and Deep Sapphire from the women's line).

Really like the colors. This is not mid-weight, much closer to heavy-weight which works for me. Great fit...the slightly fitted shirts are just right. And typical good LLBean quality...should last me for many years.

Gave it as a birthday gift- my son wore it immediately and went out to a restaurant to celebrate- glad to have this wicked soft shirt!

Essentially as soon as it arrived, it became my favorite shirt. I tried it on out of the package and ended up falling asleep in it. I am considering buying a second one to wear when this one is in the wash.

I had struggled ordering this shirt after reading reviews (too big, too small, sleeves too short etc). I have long arms and I hate my sleeves too short. This shirt fit like other bean shirts in tall size. I am very careful about laundering my shirts, always follow instructions, take them out before they are completely dry and hang them, but they always shrink. Anyway I love flannel and I like this shirt better than the scotch plaid. I like the heavier weight, and I am more of a buffalo check kinda guy than a kilt. Too bad this shirt is so expensive or would order more.
