Quality of these shirts has declined over the last ten years. For $55.00 a piece,I expect better quality from LL Bean.

"Large" sizes usually fit me quite well. Not this time.

The shirt itself is very nice, but the sizes on this particular shirt seem to run large. I orderd a small and it is too large, so I will be returning it. I have a Bean flannel shirt size small and it fits fine.

I was torn on the rating as I love this shirt. My only beef is that the buttons end too high. I've ordered Tall to get the extra button (below the waist) but have to live with a lot of extra length. It's meant to be a bit baggy for comfort, mobility, and layered dress. I use mine as a shirt-jac occasionally. I've been wearing these for over 40 years. As I've experienced, they're extremely durable, very wind resistant, and warm. Normal length stays tucked in ok, but needs another button to keep it closed and secure. This could easily be a 5-star shirt for me, like so many LLB products.

Love the feel and material of the shirt. Had purchased at least 10 of the LL Bean chamois shirts for my husband in the past and he wore out all of them. Wanted to get him a replacement shirt for his birthday, but this shirt was about 8 inches too long. The quality of LL Bean clothing is the best. Just wish you could offer a shorter version of this shirt (like you have a special tall size available), so shorter men can wear them.

I like the shirt, however, the sizing runs extremely large. It's warm, durable, and feels comfortable. I bought it to be an everyday shirt that I wear tucked into pants. I always wear a large and have never worn anything smaller in my adult life. I ordered a large and the shirt is massive. I now wear it as a layer over a true large.

I have several of these shirts going back 40 years. The older ones have styling that fits an outdoor shirt. The newer ones have dress shirt details that look out of place. This fabric is quite thick so why are the tails so long? You cannot tuck it in and be comfortable, And it cannot be worn not tucked without looking like a slob. The cuff and back pleats are now dress shirt style, not the sport shirt style of older ones. I hope we don't see button down collars next. I have hemmed the tails on a couple of mine with good results.

The shirt has nice material and appears to be well-made.
However it took over two months for delivery which was frustrating. Also, large is normally a very good fit, but this seems to be slightly bigger so is a little baggy.

Soft, great styling, but LARGE! My husband looked like he was playing dress-up. Sadly, I can't re-order as they don't make Tall shirts in a small. Bummer.

It is a beautiful shirt, but the sleeves are too long ! On the regular XXL, sleeve length should be 2 inches shorter than on the XXLT model. 35/36 max. You surely have heard this complaint from other customers.

I bought myself a chamois shirt for Christmas as I've always wanted one. I wear a 15-1/2 - 35-36 dress shirt, 42-long jacket. After consulting the sizing chart, I purchased a Large/tall, but it proved to be gigantic, with the cuffs down past my knuckles. So I ordered a Medium/tall instead. It was better in the body but still way too long in the sleeve. I have ordered many other shirts from Bean so was surprised at how different the fit was in the chamois.

This shirt arrived and felt beautifully hefty and soft. The red color was too dark for my taste. It was like a bright red shirt had been washed with some raw denim jeans.
Construction was excellent. Workmanship what you expect from Bean.
I ordered a medium and fit into mediums in every shirt, coat, and top. This shirt had me swimming in it. I washed and dried it hoping it would shrink, but no luck there. Back to the seller I'm afraid.

I have purchased these Chamois shirts over the years without issue; SUDDENLY I am finding the sizing is WAY OFF. This being a huge disappointment. The sizing does not measure up to the sizing charts. I have found that MANY L.L.BEAN items I have been trusting for years I can no longer buy. The size on the shirt TAGs in the closet or on my gift list is no longer the same on the current inventory. C'mon L.L.Bean what happened to consistency we used to ALL Know & Love? Sadly seems to have gone out the proverbial window. Please get back to the original vendors that were making these items TRUE to SIZE ..Now I have to pay RETURN SHIPPING for ALL these items that are CLEARLY SIZING ISSUES/Tagging ERROR & NOT my fault. One customer service rep directed me to HOT Water shrink & HOT TEMP DRY them. I took her advice and tried with one ..the color faded/bled out and it shrunk a bit but not the 6-8" required to match the same exact items I have had for years. Please offer us some hope that the TRADITIONAL Fit/Sizing &Vendors will be back in your Inventory. Until then I'm out $return shipping these back. Hopeful you will contact me when you revert back to the TRADITIONAL FIT or offer to make these & exchange in EXTRA SMALL.

Ordered for my husband. He wanted a heavy weight cotton shirt like the ones he has & needs to replace. These are supposedly heavy weight but are not close to the ones he's got.

Ordered Large...came, although labeled L, believe
it was actually XL; came way off the shoulders and sleeves way over my hands. Returned and ordered M..came, fits better and although labeled M, believe it was ML, as in LONG..as it came way low just above the knees.
Love the design and the materal, but the labels
are a mess. I'm taking it to a tailor to see if
it can be shortened; if not will return again.

The color and material of this shirt were good, however the sleeves and shirttail were extremely long requiring tailor alterations.

I have been wearing LLB chamois shirts for years and have never been disappointed. Until recently! I am now aware, and verified by Customer Service, that the sizing has changed. The shirts have the same size body but the sleeves are now way to long. Kind of an XLG sleeve on a LG body! Customer Service claims the new sizing is to allow the garment to be worn as an over-shirt. I did not order an over-shirt and the catalog did not explain this CHANGE well. I will now take the ride to South Windsor, CT and hopefully make an even exchange. Trying each shirt on before checking out is now a must.

The cut is exactly as it has been over the decades. The material has changed. It is softer when new, but it does not hold its shape as well. These work shirts used to last years before they became threadbare. Not so now. It's threadbare after two years of use. It's not fashion, it's a work shirt. As a work shirt it is probably the best year round. But the durability of the flannel is quite poor.

I have a 20+ year-old bean chamois shirt that is now called the 1933, it's outlasting this new model - which is really just a thicker version of the current flannel shirt
- that I bought two years ago.

I ordered a medium sized, rergular shirt. When I put it on for the first time it was immediately evident that the size was other than normal as the sleeves not only felt much longer but when measured and against my otther Chamois shirts are 1 1/2in. longer. Shoulder width is also 1 1/2in. greater.

I've been buying these shirts for years. This year the fabric has changed. Not as heavy and not nearly as soft. A big disappointment. Used to be my favorite shirt. Will not buy again.

I'd purchased a couple classic LL Bean chamois shirts previously that I'd loved and pretty well wore out. I wanted to replace my grey one and bought this shirt. I am disappointed. Two things. Even though I purchased same size, the sleeves are short by an inch. And the fabric is crappy. it does not hold its shape, is lightweight, and stays wrinkled. It's pretty much a different and lesser product.
