Generally pleased with this shirt which I use as an overshirt. However, the cuffs fray badly long before there are any other signs of wear. Do not last sufficiently long before this occurs therefore I consider them unsatisfactory.

My husband is unhappy that the sleeves shrunk up with this shirt. He has had other Chamois shirts from LL Bean but never had a problem. Something has changed.

Terrific shirt that would be 5 stars except for its fit, which gets 1 star. I have three other shirts like this one, in differing colors, all in large, and on me they are roomy for layering yet fit well. This shirt arrived in a size large that is so very very large that I looked like a pre-schooler in his dad's over shirt. Order at least one size smaller than usual.

I returned my first chamois shirt as after the first wash it shrunk by about 2" on the sleeves. I have purchased this item every year for at least the last 10 years and have never seen it shrink like this. So I got a replacement which I've washed once and did not put it in the dryer even though washing instructions say you can put it in the dryer. I was disappointed since I've never experienced this issue in the past. You need to speak with your material supplier to provide you with a fabric that will not shrink after washing.

Color for the chamos was more brown or tan. Not what appeared in catalog.

I have purchased two other LL Bean Chamois shirts in the past. The latest shirt recently delivers was too big but more importantly the shirt felt like heavy wool and not a softer chamois. Things must have changed.

Nice stitching and fabric but XL was more like XXL. Sleeves much too long and body was huge.

This shirt is cozy and well made, but they run long! I returned a large, which I was swimming in. The medium fits well across the chest, but still hangs a good 3 inches below my jacket. I'm going to look into getting it hemmed, but I wish there was a shorter option!

It would be fine except it is much too big. I hope it will shrink when washed. Otherwise, I'd return it, except I have lost the purchase number. I hope I'm not just out seventy bucks!

I love this shirt - but!!! I ordered a medium and it fit perfectly out of the bag; but after the first washing it had shrunk enough to be unwearable - tight, sleeves short, a stretch to button. So, I ordered a large, which out of the bag was way too big, which I expected. I then washed and dried it once, and it had shrunk to the size of the out-of-the bag medium, fitting perfectly. The lesson is, buy it a size too large and expect it to fit after it's been washed. I called customer service about this, and, being LL Bean, they of course agreed to a return and refund of the shrunken medium.

I really want to like this shirt. It is a good weight for winter. But the sleeves are so short it is almost unwearable. I was hoping to wear this as an overshirt, but the fit is very off. Sorry but I cannot recommend.

Nice shirt, very warm, but the sleeves are way too long. Sleeves go down to my fingertips

I've tried various times over the years to purchase shirts from LL Bean but they're all cut like giant sacks. This shirt is beautiful but I was swimming in the small (and I usually wear a medium in every other brand in the world). Frustrating.

I have worn these chamois shirts for more years than I care to admit. The sleeves are too long and the pockets have no slot for pens. On balance, though, they are still the best out there. When I'm rich and famous, I'll have my tailor custom make the shirts that will knock your socks off!

I bought my first chamois shirt from LLBean over 40 years ago. It was a fine shirt, and I wore it for years. But, the single flaw in design continues today. The pointed corners on the pockets curl up, and look like they should be pressed down. But, don't bother trying, they will roll back up again. Most shirts from other outlets, have mitered corners -- they don't turn up.

Great shirt, but I'm 5'9 and the small fit like a dress. Way too long. They should make the same fit but shorter.

This is truly an excellent shirt. The weight and feel are exactly what I was looking for. The only caveat is that it is a tad too long on me. Medium is my usual size in most flannels and outer wear including other items from LL Bean. This particular shirt is cut a bit different. I'm not on the taller side of the scale so this might not be an issue for most. I'm keeping the shirt because it truly is a thing of beauty. The length issue can be corrected by a tailor.

The large was exchanged for a medium. The sleeves were very big in circumference from shoulder to elbow, and the overall look was just too big. My husband has many large LLBean shirts that fit well, but this was an exception, and the large shirt seemed far bigger than the one he had years ago. Recommended with a caveat for size.

I have 2 other chamois shirts from LLBean that are getting a bit threadbare, so I thought I might order a new one. Unfortunately the sizing has changed tremendously since my last purchase, and the shirt was about 6 inches longer and fuller that my other size mediums.
Rather than try a small I opted for the Signature version in medium. That line is a bit tighter than I prefer, but at least the body was an appropriate length. Hopefully the original version can find its way back to the old sizing.

I'm 6', 185lbs, 41 chest, 16.5/34-35, and 32" waist (athletic build). I typically wear a size L in other shirts but sized down to M after reading reviews.
The size medium was still way too large. It would've been perfect if I was 6'5", 250lbs, 46 chest, 18/34-35, and 38" waist. The only thing that fit was the sleeve length.
With that being said, it's a nice thick flannel.

I have ordered these for a long time. Mostly deep green til that went away. But what used to last me for the entire cold season for 2-3 years, now has lose virtually all the 'flannel feel' quite quickly. When we wash cool, we find that the drain lint trap is FULL and then the drier lint trap is full. Time to try to find another place for my flannel shirts. If LLB can get back the original fabric that survives washing, Id recommend it in a flash and rate it a 5 star

Fit could be slightly roomier. True downside is that the pocket is way too shallow. Wont hold a pen or cigar, much less a cellphone. I cant believe these pockets are not designed to hold an iphone and mine is an iPhone 7 ! Baaaad!

I've been wearing LLbean chamois shirts for over 30 years, and I've owned dozens. I still have one that's at least that old, although it is now a painting shirt, it didn't show significant wear for probably 10 years. The newer shirts however don't stand up to the test of time. They loose their chamois look/feel in one season (fall to spring). I wash them in cold water and hang dry. By chance, I looked at the label in the 30y/o shirt and found it was made in USA. The newer ones in my closet are made El Salvador or Nicaragua. They fit nice, they look nice, just a lower quality fabric.

NOT THE SAME AS THEY USED TO BE..
1. RUN SMALLER
2. FUZZ UP AND FADE MORE THAN THEY USED TO (I KNOW I HAVE HAD MANY)
3. FIT GETS SOMEWHAT IRREGULAR AFTER A COUPLE OF WASHES
4. THE MATERIAL IS NOT THE SAME.
5. SINCE THEY RUN SMALLER NOW, WHERE WOULD i NOW BUY ONE THAT FITS WELL?
LLBEAN YOU USED TO BE BETTER THAN THIS.
