They are very comfortable except I'm not used to the height. I wear high top work boots and these are lower and rub my leg in different spot. I'll get used to them.

I really like these boots as they fit nicely and don't need to be broken in. I will be hiking on vacation next week and looking forward to it with these boots

The Stonington Hiker is an extremely comfortable and supportive boot. Good for walking and day-to-day wear. (I have them on now as I am typing). The boot has the same sole as the other shoes in the Stonington line and that is why I got it. It does not have a lug sole, so it tracks less dirt into the house and is well suited for daily use. However, when I go onto a trail I put on my Alpine Hiking boots, which is the same price as the Stonington Hiker and has a similar upper. The Alpine has a modest lug sole that also grips rocks and slippery stuff well. The benefit of the Stonington Hiker is that I can come into our house without having to pull out the vacuum cleaner after the walk is done,

These are really great boots! I purchased them at the Bean store in Freeport, the salesman was extremely helpful and easy to deal with! I normally wear an 11, however t a size 10 fit me great. I took them hiking the next few days and didn't change back to my sneakers the whole trip,

I ordered these for my husband. He wears a 9.5 but I ordered a 10 since that is usually his size for boots. The 10s were too big so I reordered the 9.5 and they fit perfectly, even with custom orthotics. Color is what he likes and he waterproofed them and the color still looks good...they came with two pairs of shoelaces; I hope the red ones never wear out. Such good quality for the price.

Comfortable, waterproof and great fit.

I have been wearing these boots for over a month now and I find them to be the most comfortable pair I have ever owned. The soles give a great grip on snow or ice, and the ankle support is excellent. The only thing I could consider changing is the set of lugs farthest from the top would be better if they were loops rather than open lugs. Open, they allow the laces to slip out when taking the boot off and are just a tad difficult to relace. However, not being a bootmaker I realize that there may well be reasons for the open lugs about which I am unaware. and the problem, if it is a problem, is so minor that I hesitate to even mention it.

I purchased these for work, I spend most of my time walking around on concrete surfaces and so far these boots are comfortable for that purpose. They are also very light. I would not recommend these for hiking boot on dirt, or rocky, or uneven terrain as the treads are almost smooth like a tennis shoe. The description on the website that interested me was "hiking inspired work boot" and I feel that is accurate as a light duty work boot I give them 4 stars as a hiking boot 1 star

Little bit to small wish I could have gotten them in a size 9 instead of a size 8.5

Very Comfy! Breaks in fast! I feel cute in them and they're also great to walk out and about in. They're on the slightly heavy side, but not in a way that feels bad. The texture of the surface of the brown leather gets scraped pretty easily, but again I don't mind.

The Hikers are super lightweight, fit well and are well designed and built, similar to the Moc-toe style boots I have owned for several years. Unfortunately, the Hikers come equipped with totally inappropriate flat loosely woven laces, instead of the round tightly woven laces supplied for the Moc-toe style boots, which allow them to be quickly laced by feel, and to stay securely tied with a single bow knot. The flat laces supplied for the Hikers, which have the more complicated arrangement of three hooks, are clumsy to get correctly laced, and require double knotting. While this may appear to be a trivial detail, it presents an unnecessary irritation every time the boots are worn.

Still breaking them in, I think they'll work fine.

Very comfortable. I am a bit puzzled about the leather finish and am not sure whether to pre-treat for water or not. It would be great if there was some direction on this included with the boot. Personally, I found the 9.5 US to be close to 43 Eur.

Was missing one shoelace. It's been such a challenge for my local L.L. Bean store to get it replaced, it's been painful

Its a nice comfortable boot. But in 18 months the sole separated . I called and was told the warranty was for 1 year only. Seems like the quality of the LL Bean goods is no longer a given.
