Good color, good fit, appears to be good quality construction. The insole could use a little more padding, but Im used to sneakers. Good dress casual shoe

Great shoe; back order delay is the only thing preventing 5 stars.

The show leather needs constant cleaner or oily since the leather looks tacky as it's scratched.

Nice boot, I wish it had 3-4 eye lets to keep a better fit

Excellent material and comfort. The negative is the shoe around the heel collapses when trying to get the foot into the shoe. I have to use a shoe horn to keep the heel stiff enough.

The shoe is excellect. My only issue is the width. It isn't offered in wide. It was just to narrow for me

Comfortable for standing long periods and walking. However, the top edge really rubbed my skin in the Achilles Tendon area raw the first several times I wore them. Even with thicker socks, I had to limit how much I wore them until they started to flex more. There really should be a loop or piece of smooth leather in that heel area rather than the raw seam.

These are very well made and comfortable. My only gripe is that they are NOT lined with leather, as the description states. Had I known this, I think that I would have looked elsewhere. But they're solid and comfortable, so I'm going to keep them.

A little too stiff leather for me. The footbed is not soft enough.

I haven't completely given up hope yet, but when I wore them around the house they were very stiff and uncomfortable and dug in in too many places. The tongue is bizarrely stiff and painful? I love the style, and was hoping they'd be good travel shoes (smart/casual) but right now I'm just waiting until I give them one more trial...we shall see...

The fit is great, right out of the box, No slippage, blisters or hot spots. I'm disappointed with how easily they scuff. I wore them for a couple hours running errands and they looked like I had been wearing them for a year. Would I buy them again? Probably not, but I'll manage,

Shoes were to small in length and width. Very tight fit even without socks.

Normally wear a 12 but went with 11 1/2 EE. They fit for size but seem like they will need to be broken in. Very stiff. Wish they had a little padding around top of shoe. Overall average. Will need to see after actually wearing them out a couple times.

So disappointing, ordered LL Bean expecting made in USA. These are made in Vietnam. Packed them back up and returned them. They may be ok, not fair for me to say. Just not what i expected, synthetic lining etc...

Real leather is too stik and the only way I can stop them from attacking my ankles is to wear those $25.00 Sox I bought from you and loosen the laces until the stop hurting (After three weeks) The word stik should be stiff.

I did not like the overall craftmanship of this shoe, especially the insole which I found uncomfortable. Prefer the Rockport brand previously offered for this item.

The color was a full shade darker than depicted. Difficult to "slide" on to my feet, and no pull strap so had to "work" the shoe on like a boot. And most disappointing for L.L. Bean,... this shoe is NOT LEATHER LINED as advertised. I'm returning these chukkas.

I own a pair of suede chuka boots for several years and loving them. Noticed this new product that comes in leather and I bought a pair. The size and fit are nice except it was difficult to slip into the boot from the opening with the lace loosen. I had to buy a shoe horn to get into one of the boots and even that was a struggle. After I slipped it on an took it off -- without walking --, it leaves a creased mark on the boot and made it appears worn. The chuka boot I own for a few years has a tab at the back of the boots to assist with pulling but this pair do not have the tab. A bit of a disappointment since I love L. L. Bean products for many decades. Not going to try the other boot to leave it as new status and contemplating returning them.

Fit was awkward, wide at the heel and rubbed on the ankles, seemed solidly made, but not a good fit.

I've now owned these boots for two months and 5 days. After such a brief period of wear, I'd normally expect boots to just now be getting broken in properly. The soles on these boots have become dangerously slick owing to wear (a very bad thing for someone going up and down stairs to the train during a Chicago winter) in only that short time. Sadly, LL Bean's quality has been on the decline for some years now. I've stuck around, hoping they would right the ship, but they're clearly still headed the wrong direction. (Two stars because, while they wore out shamefully quickly, they were comfortable.)

LL Bean does not have an accurate description of the Chukka Boots. They have a fabric lining and fabric inner sole. It is not leather. This has been commented on by others yet the description has not been revised.

The shoe is a good fit. It all stops there. The back of the shoe cuts into my Achilles tendon, causing me to bleed and have a scab because of it. My pain from the shoe would have been prevented if they had sewn a leather loop pull or a smooth leather protective strip to prevent chafing. At a price I paid, I think for less than a dollar, they could have done this and not ruined their profit margin.
