Purchased about 4 or 5 years ago to use when walking on wet grass, pushing mower, walking in snow to pick up the mail, very light use. This year the big toe area is leaking on both shoes so the waterproof quality is completely out the window. Went to L.L. Bean store to look at alternatives and noticed this same shoe is still selling as the "toughest all-weather slip-on" and "tough-as-nails". This is clearly a lie. It can't handle walking on wet grass for a few years. Store told me to bring in my shoes to check them. When I did they quickly studied them and determined them to be "end of life" (their words). They are lightly scuffed, barely used, objectively not "end of life". Now I'm reading many reviews highlighting toe leaks. I should have done my research. I thought I was getting what I paid a high price for but clearly L.L. Bean are not going to stand behind their products. High price. Low durability. Additionally, L.L. Bean claim that after one year, they will "consider any items for return that are defective due to materials or craftsmanship". "Consider" is the operative word there. They'll look at them and unashamedly tell you they're used up when they're clearly not. Beyond disappointed.

Purchased two pairs since 2012, both started leaking in the toe box. Similar problem as stated by others. Won't waste my time with a third try. Nice boot until it isn't!

I first bought a pair of these Storm Chaser about 10 years ago. I bought them to wear when i took our dog out in the yard and I didn't want to get my feet wet. I wore them for about 45 minutes a day after about 4 years they started to leak in the toe are, first the right shoe then the left. I eventually got to an LL Bean store to return them as defective. I was given a new pair at a slight charge to cover cost difference in what I returned and what I was given, I was also told that this new pair was not returnable, Well about 5 years later the right shoe has started to leak. the shoes still look brand new but they do not perform their basic function. Very disappointed.

Recently purchased these shoes. They are the most uncomfortable shores I have ever owned. Completely un wearable. I've tried wearing them to break in but they make my feet hurt way too bad to ever have that happen.

I bought size 12 Wide, as I usually wear 11.5W. These run incredibly small, fair warning! I would have to go up to a 13 or 14, but then they would be too long I'm sure.

I normally am I size 9.5. I ordered a 9.5 and it fine but every step I would take it felt like the shoe was going to come off especially at the heel end. So, I went to return them and tried on a size 9 and it was a bit too tight but it still had that feeling on the heel whenever I would take a step it felt like the show was going to come off. Terrible.

Storm chasers used to be my favorite shoes but I have purchased two pair and returned both for refund. Thought I must have got the wrong size on the first pair but no. They are poorly made and not at all like they used to be. I have worn them for years but never again. Lost me as a customer!

Ordered my size in wide(EE) thinking they would fit easily. However, they were so narrow I could barely get into them wearing the thinnest socks I had. When I did get them on, they were too tight to be comfortable and would never have worked with a thicker sock. I was very disappointed.

The old model had vibrant soles. This version has plastic soles. Treacherous on ice

I bought these late last winter and only wore them in slushy wet snow. They worked great Totally dry feet and OK traction in snow. Wore them today in more wintery conditions with lots of ice under snow and OH BOY hang on for a ride. the hard rubber soles seemed to exaggerate the slippery ice. I realize nothing, (other than ice grips) works very well on Icey conditions but these boots were the worst boots I've ever had the misfortune to wear on snow. I'd much rather have wet feet than a broken wrist. These boots will go back into the closet and only come out for the mud seasons. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND FOR WINTER USE

Having previously owned a pair of Storm Chasers for many years, it was finally time to replace my well-worn boots. Unfortunately, the new version of the Storm Chaser features a sole design where the toe of the shoe curves upward in an almost exaggerated fashion. I wore these for a season, and while they kept my feet dry and warm (just like my old pair), I found them uncomfortable to wear for longer periods of time. After having an entire winter's worth of experience with the Storm Chasers, I doubt that I can wear these again this winter for anything longer than a quick trip outside to shovel the walks. The freakish upward turn of the toe is such a failure that I cannot continue to wear these shoes. It's a pity that I am stuck with a shoe that is not even close to the original in terms of comfort, especially given the price paid for this product.

Loved from the start, but after just four months of once-a-day use for one-hour morning dog walk, the right shoe now leaks, leaving me with a wet sock and toes just from walking through dew-covered grass.

These shoes aren't even 2 1/2 years old and they are leaking in the big toe area...the sole is coming apart. These shoes are only used for walking the dogs in the backyard (which tends to be boggy) for potty time. The soles aren't worn at all. I think LLBean products needs to have better quality control because these shoes should last a lot longer than this.

This is the second time a pair of these began leaking before they were 3 years old. I will not buy them again.

I bought the same size as my regular bean boots. The toe box is narrow and lifted like 2in off the ground with the curve in the sole. They fit well around the foot but are painful to stand or walk in.

I just threw away my second pair of these. They were worn for walking the dogs in the neighborhood - nothing difficult or extreme, just rain, wet grass and the like. While they lasted they did the job. The sole of the first pair split where it was glued together. There was plenty of tread remaining and I had the local cobbler glue them back together. The sole had split after a couple of years use. The repair did not provide a good solution. I chalked up the problem to what I thought was a onetime problem and ordered a replacement pair. Guess what, the sole split in the exact same area after a couple of years use. The tread was still excellent as was the shoe's condition. Into the trash they went. I don't understand all the rave reviews about these shoes. To me they are a very poorly constructed shoddy product. The only good thing about them is that they're not expensive. That's my 2 cents.

"Slip on" is a misnomer. Although a great looking boot, they are extremely difficult to get on, hence I returned them.

I was really very happy with these boots for the first few days of wearing them. Then, 9 days after receiving, and after only 5 days of wearing, the finger loop at the heel of the right shoe broke! $140 for shoes that fail in a week? Not impressed.

The opening on the shoe to put your foot into is a bit too small. When I pulled on the rear strap it detached from the shoe. I'm so disappointed.
