Way to stiff feels like concret around one's feet. No flex what so ever when I walk.Should be some kind of comfort for the $$$ I paid.

the worst hiking boot I have ever bought they weigh a ton !!

I've had great experiences with Bean products in the past, but these boots don't fit that pattern. After 3 months of light use (~50 miles of gentle terrain, no mud) they started to come apart. I returned them.

I have a marginally wide foot (12W) and I could not fit into this boot - not even close. Trail Model Hiker 4 wide boots are not wide at all and I suspect a person with a medium size width would have trouble fitting into these boots - very disappointing coming from what is usually quality from LL Bean !

I wore these in house for one day only, hoping they would quit hurting my ankles. They didn't quit, so I returned them.

I wanted to like these boots but there is a design defect in the top lace hook which is not riveted through the boot. Instead it is fastened by a tiny four-prong press fitting which easily popped off when untying the boot after only three times using the boot. Buyer beware!

They are too tight in the toe area. I ordered extra wide and they do not fit correctly.

The lace hook on the boot came out the first time the shoes were worn. On two different pairs! Perhaps there were a bad batch of boots, but this is very discouraging because otherwise these are my favorite hiking boots.

Wore them on a short hike and found them very comfortable, no break in needed. The fit was spot on too. Can't speak for the waterproof quality but LL Bean has been consistent over the years with claims so I expect they'll be fine.

Told item was in stock when ordered and the next day received a text message that item was back ordered some five weeks. When item arrived found that the boot was not true to the size I ordered and the toe area was way too narrow.

Ordered the extra wide width which was surprisingly too narrow. Had to return.

The eye hook on the boot came out the first time the shoes were tied. Without the eye hook it's basically impossible to tie the boots tightly. Not the quality we have come to love from L.L. Bean and even more frustrating because they were backordered for months and are once again backordered so we would have to wait months longer for a replacement on boots that couldn't even be worn due to poor quality control.

Too large. Very disappointed there was no free shipping for an exchange.

I bought these for my husband for Christmas. He has worn them twice and they have leaked terribly. Poor quality and a BIG disappointment.

These boots are not waterproof. Both feet were wet after walking through tall,wet grass. Unfourtantely, this occured after one year of purchase date so they are not eligible for return. I did not expect this from a LL Bean product. Very disappointed.

Enjoyed my first pair .wore them out after several years of extensive use. Replaced them using store codes.their too narrow, the quality is not there. They suck . Will not buy another pair

Ordered the wide width and they were still way too tight.

Unusual for LLBean. My shoes were not waterproof; wet grass led to wet feet. Easy return.

I spoke with an LL Bean rep before buying these since the reviews were either of the 'great boot, waterproof and warm' variety or the 'these 'waterproof' boots LEAK, do not buy!' variety. The rep assured me these boots, with their Bean technology, were as waterproof as Goretex lined boots. Wore them first on two short hikes, crossing a very shallow, very narrow brook each time with no problems. I was hopeful I'd gotten one of the pairs that truly were waterproof as the rep had said. Next, I wore them to shovel snow for a few hours [several inches of dry snow] and had to stop because my feet were so cold. The reason was sure clear when I took the boots off. The boots were sodden as were the heavy socks I was wearing. 'Leak' doesn't begin to describe how much water they let in. I have these same boots in the suede version. I've bought several pairs over the years and they have been totally waterproof. Wanted to buy another pair of the suede version but they've been discontinued, I was told. So I bought these. Big mistake. They are being returned, needless to say.

Saw "not waterproof" reviews in 2016, 17, 18 and June 20. Like a review stated in Nov 2018 - thought the Product Development/Design Team might have "fixed" the issue - so took a chance they were. You have not. I wore these ~6 times on ~2 mile hikes - exposed to some wet grass ONLY. Today my socks (and the shoe's toes) are soaked; each time I wore them it got progressively worse. Tek 2.5 waterproof technology appears not to be working - and/or its an issue with "toe design". Address shoe waterproof capabilities AFTER some wear - as the materials probably stretch - compromising shoe waterproofness????

I have had these boots about 1 year, but have only worn them about 15 times because I prefer the low style. We had a couple of inches of wet snow last week so I thought they would work well, I came back with soaking wet feet,especially around the toes. I called the order desk to check and see if these were waterproof. The women said they were and they were probably worn out that's why they leaked. After only a few hours of usage I don't think they should have worn out.
