These boots do not stay waterproof. They were waterproof when I bought them 1-2 years ago. Otherwise they are a good boot.

Toe box is too narrow. These aren't really an EE width. I returned them.

I wanted to replace an old pair of these boots that I liked. The new ones do not fit properly. They are a half size off in length and much too wide. The lacing system does not allow the boots to be laced tightly. The material is stiff and does not conform well around the ankles. The soles do not provide good traction on rocks or wet surfaces. Not good for hiking anything but easy, flat trails.

The wide EE boots that I ordered are clearly and unquestionably not EE. They are a full 3/8 of an inch narrower than all of my other EE width shoes. Well made, good quality, just not really a EE wide boot. They squeeze the sides of my feet. These are made in Vietnam and maybe the sizing is different, but while these are marked EE they are unquestionably not. On top of the annoyance of discovering that these shoes are not properly sized, they add the insult of making me pay $6.50 in return shipping fees.

Nope. Changed lasts from Model 3 and fit of wide width suffers. Model 3 EE had a perfect toe box for wide feet, wide, rounded and very comfortable. Model 4 toe box narrows and curves. If the fit works for you, I found the model 3's to be durable, have good traction and at least water resistant. Waterproof may be a stretch. My model 3's are still in good shape after a couple years of Colorado hiking. Went for the on sale model 4's as a backup, but returning them.

I bought these to replace my Trail Model 3's which were great boots. I ordered the same size -- 10.5 Wide -- and the new boots were WAY narrower. I even tried an 11 Wide but they were also too narrow. Is it a manufacturing error or has Bean changed their wide boot last? I hope the former because Bean is my go-to place for hiking boots/shoes. On a positive note, the Trail Model 4's are very well made. The front bumpers are sturdier and the soles are more aggressively lugged than the previous gen. More reasons why I'm so disappointed that I can't wear them...

The lower part of the shoe was very comfortable and fit well; however the upper portion was quite stiff and hurt where the high-top touched my lower leg. I wore them for a day hoping that the high-top would get more comfortable, but it didn't. I normally do not wear boots of this height, so it might just be that my legs are not tough enough for these. I'm exchanging them for the low-cut version and hope they'll work.

I WAS UNABLE TO TRY THE SHOES BECAUSE ZAPPOS SENT ME THE WRONG SHOE MODEL IN A BOX THAT HAD TWO DIFFERENT SKU STICKERS ON IT. I RECIEVED THE LOW-CUT MODEL INSTEAD OF BOOTS, AND THE ONLINE INVENTORY STILL THOUGHT IT SENT ME THE LAST REMAINING PAIR!!

Boots are advertised as weatherproof and waterproof. My husband works at a golf course and early in the morning the grounds are wet. He found that his sock and feet were always wet

Ordered extra wide boots. These said "wide" on each boots tongue, but were actually narrow.

This is the second pair of boots that I have bought. The first pair lasted 4.5 years and many miles. I was so happy with the comfort and fit that i bought the same style and size boot again. Unfortunately, the second pair of boots did not wear the same. After 1.5 year of moderate wear, the outer part of the boot and sole looked brand new, but the inside lining wore down so much that the leather of the boot severely chafed the skin on my heel causing a large wound. It appeared that the inside lining was defective so i sent the boots back to LLBean for a replacement. So disappointed in LLBean and their customer service representative as they said there no sight of a defective material and it probably was the type of sock that was worn. Really??..only hiking socks bought from LLBean or from another reputable outdoor hiking store were worn. Obviously, LLBean quality has gone way down as the second pair of boots were nowhere near the quality of the same boot from 6 years ago! I have been a customer of LLBean for over 55 years and am so disappointed in the quality of this shoe and the lack of satisfaction from customer service. If I could I would give this boot a rating of 0. Sadly, I will look elsewhere for hiking boots and will question the quality of all LLBean products going forward.

I bought these hiking boots along with another pair of sneakers. The sneakers fit great, but these boots were either mis-sized or run much smaller than normal. I ordered size 13 wide. I couldn't even get my foot into the boot they were so small. These will be going back.

I ordered an EE (wide) shoe and when I received it it was the exact same size and shape as my previous pair that was a regular width. Very disappointed.

the hooks for the laces are nice and sturdy looking but on both pairs, they have pulled out of the boot. it appears that they are attached with rivets. Either the base is missing or of a flexible material that allows the post to become detached. not very comfortable in the wet weather and snow when you cannot close the top of the boot.

These boots run narrower than advertised; had to return them. Not good for a wide foot like mine, 2E-4E.

Well fitting, very comfortable to wear. Had boots for several years, with very light use (maybe 20 miles total). This year, both shoes experienced outer sole detachment, one shoe in a catastrophic manner, making shoe unusable. Not the L.L. Bean quality I expected. Given the limited one-year warranty L.L Bean now only provides, I am stuck...
