Boots are both warm and made of high quality materials. I would have gave 5 stars but they were snugger than I would have liked. I'm hoping they loosen up the more I wear them. A good quality boot but consider going up a size if you are uncertain what size to purchase.

I initially bought these boots to wear for the occasional snowmobile trip I take in the winter. They seemed like a better deal than any of the boots "made for snowmobiling". This winter I've been wearing them far more often than I thought I would to wear while walking the dog. They are surprisingly comfortable and are easy to slip on and off. My only complaint about the boots is that they are not made in America like some of the other boots in LL beans line.

Got a pair of these after not having one for several years. You can't beat the warmth that these provide in the snow and cold. One con is that they are very narrow in the uppers and can be difficult to put on, but once on the fit is good.

Warm & comfortable but very heavy. (P.S. Fits tight; I had to size up a full size.)

Haven't had the chance to wear them very much. Good width and ordered up a half size, but they are exactly that, slightly oversized but allow for thick socks comfortably. Nice appearance and warm! So far so good, will follow up after I've had them for a while for durability and waterproofness.

Love these boots. Liner is warm an bonus- replaceable! Needed a full size larger to accommodate heavier socks. Expect to wear them happily for many years.

Overall well made boots. I'm a big fan of my duck boots that keep going at over 25 years strong, so I like the stiffer, tumbled leather look. I got these boots late in the winter season so haven't had much time to experience them in cold days but they look very warm. I'm dinging them one star for the soles. I don't know why but L.L. Bean doesn't seem to make a sole that's really grippy and stable on packed snow or ice. The soles of these don't seem much safer than my duck boots which are very slippery on ice. I'll probably wind up using stabil-icers with them

I checked your sale items and unfortunately I am retired and cannot afford those prices. I would have loved to purchase more. I buy USA products.

bought these to replace an 30 yr old pair of Sorels, which were great boots, but new ones aren't even close.Decided to take a chance on these, have had a lot of stuff fromm LL beans over the past 40 years and only one problem, which was taken care of immediately. These boots are lighter, seem ok. Abit narrow.

I thought I was getting an L.L. made boot not a made in China product, but I will keep them. I didn't know that you were having some of your products made in China. I find too many things made in China and the quality is not always that good.

To replace my stiff, old and heavy Sorels, got these for Christmas and unusually enough, we had a snowy one. Got to wear them that night touring the neighborhood lights. Great looking and comfortable right out of the box. Plenty warm for the two hours we were out. Easy to move around in. Worked well in the deep stuff, but traction on icy, less deep snow was a bit iffy, especially on angles. As others have noted the tread is not real aggressive and somewhat shallow. I have since remedied this with a pair of traction aids. Also got a pair of the white top inserts just for personal preference. Overall I think these are well made, excellent boots and do recommend them.

Arriving just in time for a nasty Nor'Easter, these boots performed very well during a long day of snow shoveling. They are true to size, warm and comfortable with mid-weight wool socks. I usually wear a 9.5 or 10. The 10 fit fine. They are described with round laces but came with flat ones. LLBean is sending me a replacement pair of laces. If the boots hold up over time and perform as well in even colder conditions they will rate a Five.

Moved north this summer and decided that I needed a pair of LL Bean boots to handle the snow and ice for this winter. These are comfy, quite stylish, and warm (at least for early winter in upstate NY). They have a larger than average toe box and a less pronounced heel than the true Maine-made Bean boots, which I like because I tend to wear minimalist footwear anyways. Haven't had the chance to break them in on ice or snow yet. Only issue I had was SIZING. I wear a 10.5 mens, but ordered UP, as they said to, and got an 11. The 11 was absolutely too large and loose, even with my thickest pair of wool socks on. So, I made a return for a size 10, hoping it would fit just right. It does, and I can't wait to test these puppies out in the snow!!! So, my recommendation for those wearing half sizes is to simply forgo the online advice in the product info section, and order a size down, NOT a size up!

I have worn my new boots for 2 storms now and they have performed as I would expect. They are warm and comfortable, very much like my old SOREL Snow Boots that I had for 35 years. I hope these boots last as long! They look just like my old boots, (the main reason I chose these over other styles).. I'm sure they will! I have purchased many articles of clothing, boots and winter wear from L.L. Bean over the years, and have always been happy with them.

Very good boots and quick delivery! Construction is sturdy and high quality. The leather is flawless topgrain, strong and very supple. Lacing on/off is surprisingly quick. Stitching is near perfect. This pair has NO rough seams inside so pulling on/off is smooth. The treads grip variable snow/ice surfaces well enough (nothing is perfect). These are the first boots or shoes I've had in 30 years with pull-on-loops that are usable! The temperature rating is about right. >>>>THE FLAW: L.L.Bean needs to fix their sizing charts! After reading all of the comments about it, I ordered size 12 but I wear size 10.5 or 11. The 12 is just BARELY large enough for a heavy sock + my foot, i.e.; I need a 12.5 for a good fit, so, probably, a 13 would be sloppy without 3-4 socks. The liner does compress a bit (not a whole size) so the 12 is not pinching but for the price and the quality materials/workmanship they should do better with the fit!

I owned a pair of Sorel's that lasted 30 years.Tried these on and was impressed immediately. The only issue was the sole feels really tin, so I inserted a gel insert and now they feel much better. Can't wait for the DEEP cold and BIG snow ... that will be the real test. I use to make ice in the backyard at 2:00 am and was bare foot in my Sorel's. Since I am not making ice at 2:00 am anymore ... I'll have to find another way to test them out.

I've owned this boot for about a month and while it is stylish and warm enough, I am likely going to return it. There doesn't seem to be any padding in the sole, and the liner comes out every time I take off the boot. Again, the boot is stylish and warm enough, but performance wise it leaves much to be desired.

I like these boots. They're very comfortable and do exactly as they say but there are some concessions here. They can be pretty inflexible which makes driving a bit difficult, especially if you drive a stick shift. They're really only good for winter so once the weather warms up they'll go back in the box for storage until winter comes around. I really really like these boots but it's an edge case use for them. So I'll be taking these back to thw L.L Bean store I got them from and exchange them for something else like a pair of Maine Hunters or something similar.

The boots looked to be a good, warm pair but they did not come in half sizes so I ordered a half size up & they were way too large.

I just ordered this boot for my grandson. I'm just reading the listed reviews and confused by your response to the customer who was disappointed with the quality and fit and the fact that it was not made in Maine. You responded that it was not one of the "Bean boots," but the L L BEAN logo is stamped on the leather. What's it doing there if it's not your product?

Great boots, BUT, I wore them in 9 degree weather and my feet got cold, I tried medium and heavyweight socks and still cold feet. the fit was perfect but very hard to get my feet out of them. The sole needs more support because any hard snow or ice chunks feel like they will poke right through the bottom. These are a slight upgrade from the insulated original Bean boot, just a little more height and "slightly" warmer. Might be OK for walking the sidewalks in Freeport but not heavy enough for Northern Maine.

Husband wears 10. Got 10s and he had a hard time getting them on then said they felt too tight. They are very sturdy and they do come up a good hight for walking in deeper snow.
