I wanted to wait to write this review after I experienced -45 degree weather here in North Pole, AK. The weather usually gets about that cold, if not colder in February and March. I think the coldest I've felt this winter is -22 so far and during that day, the sun was bright and the air was freezing. We just had a snow fall so I was doing a lot of snow plowing and shoveling. These boots made my day go by so fast. I actively spent 4 hours plowing the parking lot and shoveling the walk area around my work. These boots, you guys, these boots kept my feet toasty and comfortable. Upon opening the box, I was worried they were going to be too big. Honestly, I think I read a review from another gal who claimed they just looked huge and my mind just imagined this to be true. In the package, the do appear pretty big and bulky, but do not send back until you try them on! I was certain they were going to be too big, until I stuck my foot in. As soon as I got them on comfortably tightened, they seemed too padded. They were really snug. I was thankful I ordered my true size, but shortly wondered if I should have ordered larger. I wore them around the house for a full day, then to the office, and yoga with no socks once. The insulation in the boots soon stretched out and molded ever so slightly to my feet. They are PERFECT! I want to go back to my method of wearing them in a bit. Living in Alaska, you learn how to wear winter gear. You learn what works and what does not, really fast. I am used to wearing bunny boots throughout the freezing temps and have learned that in order for a boot to keep you warm, you need a good outer rubber layer, a good inner insulated layer and a open layer between your feet and the fabric. If you order these boots the size you normally wear, wear them every where, even without socks so your natural oils coat the insulated layer and lock in the fabric. I know this sounds crazy, but trust me if you need a boot for super cold weather. I love these boots. I am so glad I made the decision to order these and not the higher shaft ones with the fur. I chose these over the fur because I didn't want to deal with lacing the D rings, and soon realized that the fur may become a problem collecting snow and getting my pants wet. I have received numerous compliments on these and they look awesome with everything I wear. Get these ones, you wont regret it!

Love these boots! Great for that cold and long Alaskan winter and there's definitely enough room to wiggle my toes in!

These snow boots are beautiful, maybe a little big looking on, but, they are snow boots. I love the look of them! They are comfortable, seem to have really good support. Very very warm!!! Need to break them in a little bit but I know I'll be wearing them and having warm/dry feet for many winters to come. I wear 8-1/2 and bought at 9 which fit great.

Although these boots appear big when you see them, they are much lighter on your feet than you would expect. I usually take a 9.5 and I ordered the 10 and they fit perfectly with heavy socks. The foot is very supportive, I work on a horse farm and am in my boots for 10+ hours per day. All of my barn footwear is from LL Bean because I am very hard on my shoes, and no other brand is nearly as durable or comfortable.

I bought these for my wife. She uses them for snow blowing the driveway. Her feet have never been so toasty. Single degree temperatures and her feet were still warm. Once again, we can depend upon LL Bean products.

These boots were my second choice because the first choice would not have arrived before Xmas. When my wife opened her present, she considered returning them because she had expressed interest in the first pair. She gradually decided to accept this pair of boots. Now I continually hear positive expressions such as "My feet aren't even cold in all this time.' And this was during the Bomb Cyclone.

True fit not bulky perfect boot. I just got them yesterday and I'm so excited to do some snowshoeing soon with these. My boyfriend bought a pair of boots from bean but said " yours are better" duh.... worth every cent thanks for keeping me as a customer for as long as I can remember!

I originally ordered my usual size knowing I'd be wearing super thick sock (my feet get really cold in the winter), but that size felt pretty chunky, big, and loose. I have relatively narrow feet, although regular width shoes usually fit me fine. I exchanged them for one full size smaller and they fit great even with thick wool socks. They were a little stiff at first and I was still worried about them being heavy or chunky, but I wanted to give them a chance. Within two days of wearing them they were broken in just perfectly and they are my new favorite winter boots! I've received lots of compliments on them and they keep my feet toasty warm in ice, snow, high winds, and every type of cold!

I love these snow boots! I live in Montana, so we get plenty of snow in the winter and temps will range from -20 to 30s throughout the winter. I wear a size 8, ordered a size 8 and they fit great. I can wear thin or thicker wool socks depending on the temperature, and my feet always stay warm. Definitely recommend them!

Great fit! I usually wear a size 8.5 but sized up to a 9 for these boots. I also bought a pair of boot socks with my purchase and when I tried on the socks with the boots, the boots fit snugly. The toe area feels a little stiff which I am confident will go away once I break these high quality boots in. I can't wait for it to snow so I can wear these boots everyday!!

I bought these boots, size 9 also my regular size in shoes, a few weeks, just in time for the NorEaster and they worked GREAT!!! I was worried about the clunkiness that some reviews referenced but I did not encounter this problem. I put on a thick pair of socks, obviously, and went to shovel and had no problem walking about. The boots comes up high enough that no snow was getting down the boot. I couldn't be happier with this purchase! My feet were dry and happy.

I purchased a pair of these boots around 25 yrs ago. It was time for a new pair. So glad they still made this type of style. I Love these snow boots, there comfortable, waterproof, light wt. fit great. GREAT PRICE!!!!!

I bought these boots for my wife and she loves them. She told me that the fit was true and that they were very warm and comfortable. She also loved how they looked.

Customer service was great. I had a pair of boots that were discontinued and the sole came off so I shipped them to LLBeam and was sent the newer version of the boots which was sent in the wrong size. I call the customer service was shipped the new ones overnight and I shipped the first ones back. This is a wonderful company to purchase from they stand behind their items

They do look like 'Frankenstein Boots' but these are snow boots, not fashion boots. Very comfortable and they keep your feet warm and are waterproof. True to size but best wearing thick socks. I bought a pair at least 30 years ago and it was time to get a new pair. Don't worry about the cost, you will get your moneys worth since they last forever.

I asked for the boots for Christmas and they are perfect for what I wanted them for (mostly for shoveling snow). Even with slush, the boots stayed dry. I found the boots to be roomy for winter socks and toasty warm in very cold conditions.

I have never spent good money on a pair of boots before, always buying what my husband called "girly boots". Since buying these boots my feet have stayed warm and dry! I have worn them for a quick trip to the store and also while out hiking through the woods. I am in love with them. They are also very stylish I feel and fit true to size. I just have to remember to not put little ankle socks on as they fall down in my boot as I walk.

My daughter absolutely loves them I bought them for her for Christmas. She said that the warmest boots ever and she lives in New York and Does a lot of traveling.

I've decided recently to give L.L. Bean a shot with other items. And boy do I wish I started at L.L. Bean a lot sooner. I should also note that I had a tough time deciding between these and Sorel...I am glad I decided on these. I purchased a pair of these for my wife for Christmas, she's already tried them on and they fit perfectly! Some of the reviews claim at these are big and clunky... But isn't that exactly what you want for the snow? A large boot that is easy to slide on (Can't do that if the boot isn't large), keeps your feet warm, has a serious grip, and waterproof? To me these boots hit on all of these points. I've since ordered the male version of these boots for myself. I am very pleased with this purchase. Thank you Bean for making these great quality boots.

I liked it, but for the are I live it's too warm. I returned them.

I have been through quite a few winter boots, mostly Sorels, and these boots are incredible. I'm usually a 9 1/2, read reviews and sized down to a 9. They fit perfect in every way. I've had clunky boots, and if the aim is fashion, they are a little bit bigger, but if the goal is practicality, these are the most perfect fit. I wouldn't call them clunky at all, and would recommend them to anybody who plans on walking on something besides a shoveled sidewalk.
