I purchased these slippers recently at the South Windsor, CT L.L. Bean retail store. They are comfortable, 100% true to size, and they keep my feet nice and warm without causing overheating. My only wish is that one day these slippers will bear the tag "Made in the USA", and NOT "Made in China". Come on, L.L. Bean, you are selling these Chinese-made slippers for the premium price of $69.00. My guess is that they could be manufactured in the USA, and L.L. Bean's profit margin would still be substantial.

Just received these as a gift. They have a great sole for running outside for firewood. I normally wear an 81/2 wide shoe so thought 9 would be the right size. However it's way too long, they fall off my feet when I walk. Will be returning them for a size 8.

I bought these in 2013. I wear slippers almost all the time because of a thing with my feet. I wear another brand during the day that I have to replace about every 6-8 months, but these are my "night" slippers. They have lasted 3 years with only one little bald spot on the heals. The rest of the shearling has held up well - and I wash and dry them a couple of times a year. The suede and stitching have held up well. I am about to order a new pair - just waiting for a sale or a discount! But when I saw the other reviews, I wanted to go ahead and do a review after REALLY long term use.

I give these a good rating because they are well made and good looking, and I would recommend them to any friend who likes the style. However, I found that the "scuff" back is uncomfortable for me, and would not work. I am returning them.

I purchased the light blue color which is gorgeous and it was on sale so overall the "deal" was excellent! However - as other shoppers have stated the slippers feel much more flimsy and thin than in the past. I had another pair that I kept for 3 years back in 2010 and it felt much more solid.
Otherwise the shearling is silk soft and they are very comfortable.

These are warm, sturdy slippers. They seem to run narrow (this is my second pair). I cannot wear socks under them. My first pair wore/broke the binding at the back of the heel and L.L.Bean replaced them with no questions asked. That is a treasure.

These scuffs are really great. They are well made and I am sure they will last a long time. So comfy and they make me happy. They are definitely long. I wear an 8 or 8.5 in shoes and the 8 is too big.

Beautiful slipper. Am returning because I want a less flexible sole.

I have always liked these scuffs. However the pair I just received all much larger than my previous size 8's. I sent my last pair back due to stitching coming undone. Now these are so big . What to do!! I can barely keep them on when walking. I can not get the length bar to move to the large area ,nor is the width bar responding.

I reviewed these slippers about a year ago, and wanted to do an update. LL Bean doesn't seem to allow users to edit reviews, so i'm doing a new one. my original review is at the end of this post.
I unequivocally love these slippers and wear them most of the time i'm home September-May, and even sometimes in the summer. I do not think i overuse them in anyway nor am i abusive. I'm careful to tuck the heel over my heel so i don't walk on it, i don't let them get wet, i keep them away from my pets, etc. However, in about four years of wearing these slippers I'm in the process of getting my fifth pair because they just keep falling apart within the first six months of use. On the first pair, the stitching came out at the sole; the second pair was two left feet; and for the third and fourth pairs the stitching holding the upper trim to the body of the slipper has come undone, leaving me with the trim flopping around uncomfortably under my heel. I'm returning #4 and ordering #5.
I am terribly disappointed that these slippers, which are not cheap, don't last long. BUT, LL Bean takes them back every time no questions asked, so i keep coming back for more. They really are comfortable.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I love, love, love these slippers. I am a fan of the "scuff" style, which i find is either loved or loathed generally. They keep my feet nice and warm without overheating and are very snug. I also found them to be sufficiently cushy to stand in. My back tends to get sore very quickly while i'm working in the kitchen, and these offered enough padding to alleviate this. It's also nice that I can wear these around the house, and don't have to worry about changing into shoes when i need to dash outside to the garden or mailbox because they have a nice rubber sole.
Yes, the shearling inside does flatten down, but i never found that this affects comfort or warmth.
I generally wear a 6.5 wide but LL Bean shoes generally run large for me so i got these in 6 medium, and the fit is perfect.
My only complaint, and this is a big one, is that after about three months the stitching that connects the sole to the suede began to unravel. No sweat, i just returned them and got a new pair. But this new pair (i'm not kidding here) is two left feet. More specifically, the "right" slipper has a right sole with a left upper. You'd be surprised by just how uncomfortable this is. I have concluded the manufacturing process for these particular slippers has a few kinks and you'd be best to try these out in store so you can make sure you're getting a quality pair. Hopefully third time's a charm for me.

They are plush. I have not had them long enough to know how they will hold up. What I don't like is that they keep sliding off my heel because the back is so low.

These were bought as a gift for me. They fit true to size, I wear a 7 1/2 and received an 8 per the sizing info. Great fit without socks. If you are looking for a slipper with a lot of arch support, this will not give it to you (I didn't need it). They are super comfy and warm. I wanted something simple that I could slip on and wouldn't catch on nylons, tights, etc when getting ready for work or events, but still casual enough in the evening with jeans. Good sole to run into the garage for extra wine or onto the deck/patio for the dog. They feel good on your toes.

I usually wear a 6.5 or 7. I ordered the 6 because I knew that the fluffy inside would eventually pack down. I'm glad I did, although half a size longer would be nice. I highly recommend these for their warmth. Scuffs are my preference for slippers - easy on and off. LOVE them!

I like these slippers but wish I would have bought the ones that come up to the ankle. Because those are warmer. But I wanted a pair that were easy to slip on and off and these meet that criteria. Wish I could afford two pairs!

Had these for about a year now - wanted mocs to wear around the house and scuffs specifically because of the easy on/off. Super super happy with this product, definitely worth the price.
I'm a women's 11 in just about every footwear. These felt slightly snug at first (even worn barefoot) but be patient! Before long the shearling formed perfectly to my feet and they fit like a glove. Unfortunately, after 365 days of daily use the shearling is packing tight and wearing thin especially at the heal, thus not as soft and cushiony to my foot but still just as toasty.
I like that I can wear them barefoot or with socks, the hard sole is great if you have to make a quick run outside, and they're pretty resilient to stains - lots of coffee drips have simply been rubbed out with water. Very happy and will absolutely buy again when this pair retires.

This is my second pair. I wore the first ones everyday for 3 years. These are the most comfortable slippers that I have ever had.

I have worn these slippers for many years. I have the scuff style and I have a very old pair that I LOVE that finally got too worn out so I just got a new pair. They are lovely, cozy and warm. I got the same size but they are slightly longer than my old ones making them feel slightly less secure on my feet. They are breaking in and getting a bit better, but they still make me actually have to "scuff" more because they feel slightly as if they could come off.
Still love them. Just a little bit long. Like a half inch.

I received a pair of these scuffs for Christmas and have worn them almost every day since. Even though the back is open, my feet have never been the slightest bit chilly while wearing.
The open back means that I can slip these on and off without using my hands --one of those conveniences that I thought would be "nice" but have come to love.
There are two cons to report: 1 - The lining in the heel area has worn through completely in one slipper and about 80% in the other and 2 - The stitching where the tongue meets the side is starting to come undone on the right slipper.
I wish they were sturdier, but I would still purchase them again.

I ordered these in my normal size and they fit fine. I have very wide feet and the width was no problem. They are warm and toasty and have a sturdy bottom sole if you choose to wear them outside the house. In my opinion they are 'slipper-ish' and more suitable for inside wear. Maybe a bit pricey but with LL Bean quality and guarantee - worth it.

The title says it. The slippers are well made, comfy and good looking, but the "order the next size if you wear half sizes" still doesn't allow for a good fit; they run bigger than that!

I love the slipper. I could not get used to where the back sat at the bottom of my heel so I exchanged them for the full slipper. It was not the slipper though, it was just my preference.

These are heaven, they're soft, cradle the foot, soothingly warm,
durable upper and sole is great if you have to step outside for a few minutes. This is a great slipper sold by a great company.

I received these slippers a couple of days ago and so far, I like them. I wear a size 8 in every shoe I own, but after reading a couple of posts where the reviewer suggested a size smaller, I ordered a 7. So glad I ordered a size smaller. They fit perfectly, even with the fur lining.
Now, with regard to appearance, they are a slipper. Nothing feminine about them, but great for your favorite flannel robe and warm feet!
Definitely recommend them, they'll be the cozy, 'go to' slipper on those cold nights. Also sturdy enough for a quick run to the mailbox.
