I have Plantar issues and have been wanting a pair of Hokas because I've heard they are the best. I wear a pair of Brooks and Asics (both with Dr. approved inserts). I thought these felt EXACTLY the same BUT the Brooks have more bounce than these Hoka. I am returning to buy a different pair of Hoka- let's see how they work. FYI- Brooks are what got me through my painful Plantar Fasciitis moments.
I'd also recommend:

I really love these but unfortunately they're just a little too narrow. I wear a 10.5 and the length was perfect but they felt a little too snug on the sides of my feet :( I wish they made the white pair in a wide size!

I love Hoka shoes. I used to have issues with my feet hurting after long walks, but I don't have that problem now that I wear Hoka shoes. I wish there were better color choices though. Black with a splash of color would be my preference.

This was my first pair of Solimar. I have run in the Bondi, Rincon, and Arahi. I gor the same size that i have for all my Hokas, 8.5. I have used these on a few outdoor pavement runs and they are nice and light. Cushioning and support are decent enough for my 5 mile runs and I am a slight supinator. I noticed that rhe laces get loose at the top by the end of my runs, so I have to use the extra hole to heel lock the laces.
I got a second pair of Solimar as a Christmas gift, so I started using the first pair for gym workouts. The support for stepping movements isn't adequate for side lunges, since the top fabric is pretty thin and unstructured. I would not recommend these shoes for HIIT workouts where you have to pivot quickly.
Otherwisec it's a pretty shoe, and has more the Nike sleek look to it, as opposed to Hoka's traditional clunky look.

Excellent running shoes and they look so amazing! They are super comfortable and the first day I wore them I was getting compliments! Would definitely recommend to my friends. The only reason I gave a 4/5 is because the sneakers are white and do get dirty easily.

I normally wear Clifton 8. I thought I try these for recovery. I wore around house, not enough support for my feet.

I saw the review saying these run large so I chose the size 7 rather than my usual 7&1/2. They were only available in wide, so I decided to take a chance that they would fit. Perfect! So comfortable and not too clunky-looking like some Hokas.
I'd also recommend:

Suffering with 1 year plus extreme plantar fasciitis, the Clifton model was a godsend. I bought the Solimar in black and prefer the minimalist design without visible logos that works with more of my outfits and non-gym clothes as I can only wear Hokas now. As others have noted, the tongue on this model can move a little to either side, so I just wear black socks with the black Solimar pair. It is not as cushiony as the Cliftons, so will probably add insoles as my plantar fasciitis causes pain wearing these on longer walks, when it rarely did with my Cliftons. I wish the Solimars felt as good on the bottom of my feet as the Cliftons, but don't want the super thick soles I personally think are too ugly to wear to office/out at night/etc. At least the Clifton design isn't as thick and ugly as other more extreme Hoka models. If you are in a lot of pain and can only buy one pair of Hokas, you probably want the Cliftons or a thicker sole model.

Comfortable, light, but shoe laces are a bit hard to tie and untie. Also, they probably wouldn't be warm enough for temps around freezing.

Rave reviews at the gym so I decided to try a pair. I am a women's size 8.5, however, they felt too exact.
Went up to a size 9 and they fit perfectly. SUPER comfy! The cushion is unmatched. Liked them so much bought another pair in a different color the very next day!

I use this sneaker for working out with my trainer in a gym. I am 70 years old and was looking for support and stability while working out. This show does both and is very comfortable as well. I did find this shoe runs big and followed recommendations to order a half size down and shoe fits perfectly. My regular size would have been to big.

I wasn't sold on this shoe at first wear. I walk on a treadmill and crosstrain. When I wore my old workout shoes, I realized how much more comfortable my Hoka shoes are. Definitely pleased. I bought my son a pair for Christmas.

I ordered the Solimar because it is supposed to be good for cross training. the shoe is comfortable to walk around the house, but when I tried doing any activity, it was slipping in every direction. I don't care for the style of heel because my heel slips out, even if I tie the laces in the tightest hole. Nice shoe, but too expensive to just "hang around" in.

Love my new Hoka shoes! Never heard of the brand until I saw them advertised online. Took a chance and ordered a pair and they fit wonderfully and perfectly! So so comfortable! I'm a size 9 and they fit like a glove. Love walking and exercising in them. Will definitely be purchasing another pair in the near future! Oh and the colors are so pretty to choose from too! 5 stars from me!

I did a lot of research before ordering these, thinking I could run/walk in the treadmill and then do HIIT training. They didn't work out for me. They are very similar to my brooks for walking but way too stiff for jumping, lounges, etc
Returning them

In the never ending pursuit of an all-purpose shoe for Orange Theory classes, I purchased the Solimar. My normal shoe size is 7.5B; I bought a 7.5 and an 8 based on comments that the Solimar runs narrow and recommendations to size up. Because the shoe is a neutral shoe, it's a good solution for my very high arches and supination. I like the shoe for its weight, look and moderate cushioning. It's not as plush as the Clifton (my favorite running shoe); however, the Clifton I find is too spongy for lifting. The shoe does run narrow; however, a larger size simply added length that I didn't need. The shoe upper is stretchy so when cinched in snuggly, it definitely doesn't look wide enough since my toes are bulging out of the shoe. Because it's so flexible, I don't feel a lot of support during lateral movements. I returned the 8 (Oh my gosh the return process couldn't be easier!) and kept the 7.5. I didn't have the same issue as others commented regarding the tongue of the shoe being irritating. I like the shoe but am still on the hunt for a better all-purpose shoe. I tried a couple of times to upload a picture to show bulging toes but the site just kept spinning.

Your shoes are awesome in that I can walk all day long and not feel pain or fatigue at the end of the day. However your choice of colors makes me crazy. I want a pair of shoes in normal, non-neon colors. My last pair was a challenger ATR six, in green and yellow. I could work with that, but you don't offer it anymore in women's sizes. The pair I have now or a deep blue with a purple sole. Seriously not my choice but again I don't have a lot of alternatives.

Feels like I'm walking on clouds. I'm on my feet all day in the medical field and my feet have felt great at the end of a long day. Have not gone for a run in them yet but everyday walking comfort is amazing!
