Just bought my second pair of Kaha 2 GTX because the first pair fits just right, has great tread, keeps my feet warm but not too warm, and I didn't want to risk having them wear out and not being able to find this style again. With all the upgrades and subtle changes in new release items, I was worried I wouldn't find the same perfect fit, feel and performance. With the second pair I'm good for a while.

I've put over 30 miles of walking and hiking in these over the last two weeks. It took a few miles to feel really comfortable (as is what I expect from a well made trail shoe) but now I am very pleased. The traction on these bad boys is phenomenal! I'm also pleased with the lacing system since it allowed me to make adjustments to the fit. Added bonus is that they look great!

I love these boots! We are planning an elk hunt next year and have been buying and returning boots galore just to determine my needed size and comfort since they never have my size in stores to try on. Hoka has been great working with me in exchanges and returns. I ended up going with 5.5 which still gave my toes wiggle room but not too much to jam up my toes when hiking down hill and the locking lace system helps keep my foot in place.

Spot on for the fit and finish. Love the lightweight of the Hokas and Vibram Soles.

I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota and walk the dogs almost everyday in the Black Hills National Forest logging roads. These Hokas keep my feet warm and support my ankles and the cushioning and support is great. I got my Kahas at Scheels and lucky for me they were on sale. The color Hot Sauce still looks like new. The grip on rocky surfaces have kept me upright and that is importantly me as a 76 y/o.

So I got them for work and cold weather. They are gorgeous shoes. They are a lot stiffer than I expected them to be but I'll break into them. Thanks Hoka for Wonderful shoes!

We hiked in Rocky Mountain National park with these shoes! They felt like pillows on my feet, so o for table I could have hiked for days! Great hiking shoe!

I'm and old lady with concerns about keeping my balance on slippery ground and also wanted a roomy toe box in the shoe. Here's what I found. I got the blue ones (great color) in size 7.5 (medium width), which is the size I wear in most shoes. My two pairs of old non-Hoka hiking boots are 7.5 but they're tight in the toes, and don't offer balance support. Right out of the box I tried on these Hoka high-tops and they seemed way too large when I tried them on in bare feet and I thought I’d have to exchange them for a half size smaller. But with wool socks, they feel just right, with a little room to spare at the toe, which is what I wanted. The only thing I didn’t like much is that the extended soles (the soles stick out a bit all around from the base of the shoe) tend to scuff against each other a little bit when I’m walking. But it’s the extended soles that help with balance, which is important for safety. The half size smaller would mean pressure on my toes which I’m getting with my old hiking boots that are the same size (7.5) as most of the shoes I wear. These Hokas were clearly designed with wool socks in mind. And if I put an orthotic in them they will be okay, but I may not need one.
I'd also recommend:
This is my second pair of Hokas (I've got sneakers and high-top boots so far), and I'm sold on them!

I've worn these bad girls for a year in all kinds of weather conditions in rural Alaska. Unbeatable comfort and performance. I was moved to write a review after working a ten hour stretch in a relentless downpour with 75mph gusts driving the rain at me in all directions. Every other piece of gear I had failed to some degree. The shoes excelled. Kept me on my feet, dry and toasty. I do add spikes when it gets icy, and they get a break when the snow gets too deep in December, and I miss the comfort. Great hikers that can take a beating. Highly recommend.

No break in needed, soft enough for my tender sensitive feet, easy to slip foot , great lacing system, really fantastic support on worn out ankles (I'm more stable in standing and walking), will have warmth in ankles as well, regular width is not too wide nor narrow, thick gripping soles is a big plus, I feel much less pain in knees and hips with this boot support. Black color is more of rich tone than a washed out look in the photo. Orthotics slides easily in. This is a winner for me. Thinking of buying another as backup incase.

I bought these for my daughter who works at a horse farm. She needed something waterproof, rugged enough to withstand doing barn chores all day, and comfortable enough to not have her feet aching at the end of the day. She loves them! Her feet are so comfortable and dry at the end of the day.

Though I bought my originally Hokas for hiking and photography, I fell in love with them so. I wore them out Tried a couple of other styles of Hoka them noticed these KAHA 2 GTX were a newer version of my beloved first pair. Love, love these mid-height boots. Lots of ankle support. The super plush is like walking on air I wear them all of the time. The lacing is easier and stays put. I bought the purple. The waterproof material makes them so easy to keep clean and my feet never get wet.

Hiked up and down Kilimanjaro in these boots. I could trust the boots to grip when needed and was very comfortable in them. Would recommend.

I haven't actually been on a hike yet, but I have worn these hiking boots to teach in, and they are super comfortable. I have tried so many different brands of hikers, and these are the first ones that I have really liked. My feet did not hurt one bit after teaching all day long. I will buy another pair when I need them.

I've tried SO MANY hiking boots. I thought the La Sportiva's I bought would work but when I started hiking more than 3 miles in them, after a long break-in period, my feet hurt. I practically gave up on hiking boots and figured I'd just wear my Hoka light trail running shoes for hikes. But I decided to hike Mount Kilimanjaro next summer and need to have hiking boots for the summit day that can get as cold as -25 Fahrenheit. I hiked 6 miles with 2,100 feet of elevation gain and loss on a tricky trail with roots, rocks, and bouldering in these boots yesterday and my feet were in heaven. These are wearable right out of the box. They're just what I hoped they'd be: like my super cushioned running Hokas but with the stability of a boot. I no longer need to worry about what boot I'll wear and can focus on training. I wear a 7.5 in my Hoka trail running shoes and the 7.5 in these fit just right.

I LIKED THE BOOT. I was just heavy on my ankles and a little more weight than I wanted to wear for hiking.

Best hiking shoes I've owned! No blisters first wear! Super light weight technical and high performance boot that makes hiking limitless. So impressed with the feel, comfort and enhancement of this boot. Got me up an 8 hour rock climbing trail. The GTX was an absolute life saver and held dryness through mud pools and the vibrim gripped across slippery faces. I hiked 3 weeks in the Andes and regret not having these for that trip. Excited for the expeditions ahead. Hike will be making a comeback for me in my life with these!!

After trying out several hiking boots I finally bought these. Wowsuper comfy right out of the box! With only about 3 weeks wearing them, I hiked the Laugavegur Trail and more in Iceland (dirt, rocks, snow and lava sand). These are amazing and I'm ordering a second pair, different color.

Super comfortable, stiff enough soul to prevent bruising of the feet good protection of the ankle. I would like the shoelaces to be a little longer I was able to wade through water and keep my feet relatively dry. And finally, I love the color although I did have to clean my shoes after all the mud I put on them! Hike in UT
