I have NEVER written a product review before (if you can believe it), but I felt that I had to after finishing my run today. I have been running on a regular basis since I ran track in junior high school. I run 3 to 5 miles around 3 or 4 times a week, mostly to maintain my physical and mental fitness. I bough a pair of Speedgoat 5's about 6 months ago and use them for a combination of light trail and urban street running. They are by far the best shoe that I have run in during my 44ish years of running! The cushion is great (as on all Hokas), but what make these stand out is the mesh fabric which has just the right amount of give and flexibility. The mesh on an earlier pair of Speedgoat 4's that I owned was much more rigid and my small toe wore a hole it the side of the mesh. I anticipate that the sole of the shoe will wear out through normal wear and tear long before the side mesh does. The laces also appear to have some stretch and never come untied. PLEASE LOCK DOWN THIS DESIGN AND DON'T CHANGE A THING! I will buy them for years to come. :)

Just like the headline says.. I love the shoes! They are very comfortable! Great for trail or street. But they took 2 weeks to get.

I can't resist saying it--"it's weird being the same age as old people". A lifetime of activity has left me knees that need some help. Hoka One One shoes are awesome in that regard. The support and cushioning do wonders. The new Speedgoat 5 is another great shoe. The sort of V cut out in the tongue is special. It conforms to your foot perfectly! Who ever thought of that thanks.

Trail running

My son loves his new gift. He wore them the whole time he was in Disney and they were super comfortable.

Bought for my husband for Xmas. He hiked the PCT this year in the Speedgoat 4s. I am in the process of an exchange for a larger size. He loves them though!

True to size, extremely comfortable and all around great trail runners.

Use this shoe for walking the golf course as I have arthritic big toes. They are an excellent choice. I see that pro golfer VJ Singh is using them. Hoka should make a golf shoe!

Casual wear

Bought these as a Christmas gift for my son and he loves them!!

My last pair of hiking shoes I wore within an inch of their life. I wore holes through the fabric at the top, yet still marched on. I've had my Speedgoat 5's for about a month now and I couldn't be happier. With the grip, each step feels so supported and secure. In my previous shoes, I felt as though I had to consciously grip my toes inside the shoe in order to grip the trail, if that makes sense. With my Hoka's they do all the work for my feet and I don't have to do any additional griping. The lining and support cushion and hug my feet in all the right places. The tongue and lace design is great too. The tongue doesn't shift or move at all when running so no bunching or sliding. I will wear these within an inch of their life as well and then buy another set.
