It's a great shoe for training in, but they do run big, I wear a size 12 and i can fit 2 fingers vertically from the back of my heel to the inside back of the shoe. I wish I would've got a size 11

I didn't realize what my feet and knees were missing until I purchased this shoe. After purchasing this shoe, I donated about 8 pairs of my other sneakers to a Fundraiser Group because I knew I would never wear those again! These shoes have made a huge difference in my knees - positively and this shoe is pure therapeutic!

These are my everyday shoe. So comfortable I dont want to take them off when I get home.

Felt great right off

I have had feet issues (arthritis and capsulitis), but since buying these shoes, I have had no issues. I walk 3-5 miles most days with some light jogging and my recovery from these is shorter and more complete. I'm sold on these shoes. Buy a size up, I where a 10 normally but bought a size 11, they work great.

I need for cushion do to a medical condition would buy more but no longer on website

LOVE ALL 7 PAIRS THAT I HAVE BOUGHT OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS AND HAVE SEVERAL THOUSAND MILES CLOCKED ON THEM TOTALLY. RUNNING MOSTLY AND SOME FOR LONG WALKS. THE CARBON X THAT I BOUGHT THOUGH ARE GREAT SHOWS, JUST THE BACKS BY THE HEELS NEED BETTER MATERIAL OR PADDING BECAUSE IN LESS THAT 100 MILES THEY WORE REALLY BAD.

Wear these everywhere. I do not run but walk, and these are my fovorite of the over 5 styles from Hoka I own. Cushion is perfect, and fit is true.

The Kawana is perfect for recovering from fractured ankle surgery or any ankle injuries. The shoes are clearing the ankles on both sides which is important if you have surgery scars (I have one on each side). No contact and rubbing on the scar. The shoes can be opened wide which is great for swelling. They are very stable and plush which is appreciated when starting to walk again.

Walk 4-6 miles daily,never,ever run.Took this shoe out of box and did 4 mile walk.Upper is best of all the hoka's I own.Fit and finish excellent.For me true to size.Not much difference in weight than Bondi but as walker not a big deal.Midsole is much firmer than any other Hoka I've worn but toward end of walk much less noticeable.I can't answer for runners but I think avid walkers will really like this shoe,mainly because of the comfortable upper and durability of outsole.Hope this was helpful to potential buyer.

These lightweight, breathable shoes are great for short stretches (6-8 hours) of walking on concrete! Cushioned but not too spongy...

I'm a 69-year-old male 5'-8' 160lbs. I now run primarily trail on the Spartan circuit. I have considerable problems with my feet, especially Morton's Neuroma. When running road courses, The Kawana is a nice alternative to the bulkier Bondi when running longer distances. It's stabile, cradles my foot, pretty good heal lock. For a runner who owns about 9 pairs of Hokas this is a nice addition to their walking/running line. (shorter runs i use the Rincon or Mack 4). Trail, you'll find me in a pair of Torrent 2's or my Speedgoat 4's.

so far this shoe is good, first time using a shoe with this kind of thick sole. My feet and legs are adapting to these shoes. I have done some short runs and feels good after, definitely feel the support and softness during the runs. Love the shoe design though, got some compliments already. I will increase the use of the shoes and distance of the runs to see how they help me feet and knees.

So excited Hoka has corrected the tongue problem on their shoes (not staying in place). Love elastic addition on the sides of the tongue which finally keep it perfectly in place. I have plantar fasciitis, and these are the ONLY shoes I can wear without my expensive custom-made orthotic, and be completely comfortable all day long. I believe this is either my 5th or 6th pair. Can't find a more comfortable shoe!

I put these shoes on and my feet absolutely felt like i was floating. First pair of shoes that help my high arches. I will never buy a different athletic shoe. they have changed the way my whold body feels.

Ok Hoka . Whenever you release a new shoe . Please please have it available in wide . I would buy this but not until its wide enough. I bought this shoe for my sister and she loves it. Says its the most comfortable shoe ever. Thank you for making the mach 5 in wide. I tried the 4 last year but it was too narrow . Us wide feet people want more wide shoes . Kinda sucked having to wait for the speedgoat 5 to come out in wide . Hope the Kawana comes in wide soon . thanks

I use this shoe for mostly walking. Tends to put my foot asleep and seems tight even though it isn't. Good for about 30 minutes then things change. Even bought insoles for them hoping that would help

I ordered this shoe based on looks without realizing that it is in the "moderate" stability range. This apparently wasn't the right fit for me. It felt like the middle of the shoe middle of the sole was built up and I couldn't get use to it. It's a nice shoe if this is for you. I returned and got the Bondi 7 and am happy!
