Looking for a shoe for walking since I have started walking since I retired. I had seen the ads and decided to give them a try. Glad I did, very light weight and comfortable.

I have tried so many shoes. Seriously was about to just go get some orthopedic shoes because of the pain in my left foot every day. I would wake up in the morning and dread that first step. The shooting pain in my heel was so bad I was shuffling while walking. Then I bought these. They are not going to be perfect and make everything go away, but what they do do: Make you walk properly, stable, and cushioned. I do not have nearly as much lower back pain either. It's been about three weeks and feeling better still. I just did a Disney vacation where we walked about 7 miles a day 4 days in a row and was able to do it with only a slight discomfort. If you are on the fence. Just do it.

This week I got this model from Dicks sporting goods. I started with Clifftons six years ago then last spring I got some Bondi. Each type were comfortable but these are by far the best in comfort. My only negative is that Clifftons and Bondis over time would end up with weakness in toe area after miles of walking. Hope these are stronger in the toe area.

I've had extremely flat feet my whole life but it never stopped me from competitive running (Cross Country and 5ks). Feet would hurt but I didn't care as I continued running in the Army, Police Academy, FBI Academy, etc.. Of course, all that running and not caring catches up with you. At 60, my knees now hurt because of all that running with flat feet. Wearing orthotics and other shoes claiming to be for over-pronators wasn't enough to stop knee pain that was inoperable. Recently a highly recommended, young Podiatrist pointed at his own Hokas during our appointment and said,"I suffered from the same thing. You need these shoes." I bought a pair of Hoka Gaviotas and although I still replace their insole with orthotics, my knee and foot pain are gone. Whenever I go back to wearing my Brooks or Asics, even for a day, the knee pain returns. I believe Hoka's secret is in their large and sometimes unsightly, soles and how they eliminate foot rolling for over-pronators. I highly recommend these shoes to anyone experiencing foot and/or knee pain from flat feet.

I've been purchasing HOKA shoes based on a recommendation from a friend. I've been a long time customer of both Skechers and New Balance but HOKA has definitely become my new favorite....an instant classic! I have 2 things that I would ask to be changed or altered: 1. I have serious foot problems and require an extra wide (4EEEE) shoes. It would be great HOKA offered more choices in extra wide. All I can find is Bondi 8. 2. As comfortable as the lower part of these shoes are, you would think the insert cushion might be a little plusher. Think memory foam. After all these are some expensive shoes and the insert would really finish off a great product.

I have friends and even one of my doctors that have tried Hoka and all have raved. I bought these and now I see what all the fuss is about. They are my favorites now. I bought wide, probably should have gotten extra wide.

Years ago my husband injured his foot falling off a ladder. That's when he bought his first pair of Hoka sneakers and he was finally able to walk and heal without pain . He has a wide, flat foot and usually wears the Bondi style . This is his first Gaviota and is equally comfortable for him. A good sneaker like this helps with his knee and back pain as well .

I use my Hokas to go walking for exercise, not speed walking at my age but just 20 minute miles. They're lightweight and comfortable. I admit the cushioning starts to break down after about six months but I continue to use my old Hokas even after 1.5 years of constant use. I bought the new ones just in case!

I had been in the Middle East at a convention and saw many of my colleagues wearing these sneakers that said HOKA, I asked them about it and they all said the same thing.. These sneakers are amazing, Yes we are on our feet about 18 hours a day and we are getting older and I know that I have neuropathy and I need a secure, stable shoe and it was this "Gaviota" that everyone recommended.. so I ordered them and I love them, they are great, can't wait to order more... except that they are soooo expensive..

I use them for everyday walking around and gym. I have flat feet so cushioning and not having a hard arch support are important. Very comfortable and width is good.

I replaced my wonderful Gaviota 3 shoes with Gaviota 4. The new ones are even better for walking and running. I love the combination of firm support, cushion and stability. I am an old guy and these shoes keep me going, even on hard surfaces.
