I have been buying LL Bean canvas tote bags for 30 years. Every new Baby and newly wed in the Family gets one with their newly minted name. They are the perfect bag for any occasion. Very good looking and very sturdy.

I received 1 of these totes over 20 years ago and still use it. My daughter wanted 1 and I bought it for her for Christmas.

great tote nice and heavy. I use when I go shopping. Several years ago we bought one and still using it. I was really glad when we found you still had them. I can understand why because they just come in handy for a lot of things.

This bag is of superb quality. The 24 oz material is unbelievably heavyweight. The canvas is so strong and thick that the empty bag stands up straight and doesn't sag at all. The seams are all heavily stitched and the bottom is reinforced. Very high quality workmanship. This bag is made the way things were made a hundred years ago, made to last, before all the made-in-China junk hit the market.

Over the last 30 years it had become the mantra of my household that "You can never have too many boat bags." When we have said it, the sentence meant Bean totes. I have a venerable bag bought at the Freeport store in 1992; it has been in more duck blinds and fishing boats than I can number. It has been lowered into a glacial lake in Alaska, holding waterproof containers that together with the bag made a fine refrigerator. It has a small hole worn in one side, and I have brought it back to customer service in Freeport to have the handles/straps replaced. Another of my favorites contains tools; I keep it behind the seat of my pick up truck. I am certain that I could load a Bean tote with more weight than I ever could pick-up, and the bag would not rip or tear. Its successor bags are in the dozens. The latest include bags bought in the Freeport store each Autumn on our family's annual trip to Maine. I buy a new bag for each grandchild and have it monogrammed with their initials. I have every confidence that these bags will far outlive me, and I hope the growing collection each grandchild has will be useful to them for many years to come.... a reminder of time spent with their grandfather in a place we all love.... and perhaps encourage them to perpetuate the tradition among their own children and grandchildren.

Even though they show they sized I get thrown off on what size bag I actually need. The large is perfect for a weekend away. Likely way too big for most people to carry around day to day (for school, etc) but a perfect catch all as you throw things in the car, beach bag, dance competition items, sports equipment, etc. These bags are well constructed and survive over years of abuse. I love the long handled and can't imagine using the short handles but to each their own.

I take my large tote out on my boat stuffed with towels, suntan lotion and snacks. I also take it food shopping.

I purchased this tote to use during visits to the beach. The large tote holds towels and all of my beach sundries. I also like the monogramming for a personal touch.

I have taken mine shopping, camping, swimming, soccer practice with my sons' gears, and have carried water in them. One of them is over 20 years old and still looks good! My sister will love hers just as much as I have loved mine, I just know it. She's an outdoor girl, too, and will give her bag a workout. These bags are beautiful, tough, and comfortable on the shoulders. They are the best bags EVER.

Hopefully this bag will last as long as my last purchase . When my oldest daughter was two I bought her a bag with her name on the front . I thought for a few days before I spent $25 . She just had a birthday and is now 56 , the bag is a bit tattered although still usable .

I've purchased about eight of these bags in various sizes throughout the years, some as gifts and three for me and all with personalization. They are awesome and look as good as when I first purchased them. Most impressed with how sturdy and spacious these bags are, even the smaller ones hold a lot. And reasonably priced too. Perfect for gift giving.

For the last 20+ years, I have been carting laundry in this beautiful, sturdy bag - house-to-house, in to car, out of car, heavy, dragging on cement, asphalt, ground, and the bag just gets better! Now that I am "grown up" enough to have my own laundry room, it is a beautiful hamper, sure to last the rest of my life :)

I purchased 2 canvas totes for friends. They are delighted with the product & the monogramming. One uses it when food shopping The other person who takes short trips frequently, tells me she finds it to be the appropriate size. Both are very pleased with this product.

I've written a positive review on this before, but just last week, I really got to put this bag to the real test: I stuffed this tote bag full with heavy non-perishable food items when I evacuated due to Hurricane Florence. I did not count how many cans of food and other food items I crammed in this bag, but it was full and very heavy. I don't know what I would have done without this bag on hand. (I am safely back at home now, by the way) The weight of it's contents were no match for the strength of this tote. Highly recommended. Looking forward to using it for more pleasant travel occasions (than the one I used it for recently)!

I have MANY MANY MANY different kinds of LL Bean tote bags.....Every size it seemed but Small! I really LOVE the Boat and Tote bags the most. They seem to be the most sturdy bags that LLB has! These have been around for YEARS!!! They won't die! They are made of a HEAVY wt canvas! They are Made in Maine! So now I decided to get a small one. I do ALLOT of knitting and have been doing smaller projects. These are Super for smaller items at the groc store too! More so w/the plastic bags being thinner these days!!! This bag fit the bill!!! I didn't measure out the size. I found it to be bigger than what I expected it to be for a small bag! That's GREAT tho! I know many have commented about a pocket. Well then add a pencil case or a wristlet or some clear plastic boxes, in it and than you have something to help you keep your stuff more organized!!! I don't need a key fob. I use a lariat on my keys. I put this on the handles so my keys don't go to the bottom of the bag. Many have mentioned using it for a purse; I found it rather big to use for a purse.... I SUGGEST you measure out the size of the bag you think you want and take it from there as to getting it. You will be Surprised w/the room in the SMALL bag! These are the BEST BAGS ANYONE CAN EVER GET! I highly suggest you have several of all sizes in your home and you will be very happy you have them!

I've owned LL Bean tote bags in four sizes for more than ten years and they are still in impeccable shape. Bought this bag for each of my bridesmaids. Sturdy material, maintain their shape and color, and suitable for formal and casual events. Great price for the value. Monograms are nice and big too - maybe 3 or 4 inches tall.

I use this bag as my law school bag! As a law student, I have tons of books (that weigh a ton), an umbrella, a water bottle, my wallet, laptop, keys, cosmetic bag, and there is still room! I was worried about having to put so much in it that it would be too heavy to carry, but the straps (I got the long handles so I could toss it over my shoulder easily) are super comfy. This is my first Boat and Tote - I will definitely be purchasing more!

I LOVE,Love,LOVE,this Magnificent bag.Its overall durability is flawless.It can carry a heavy load,I once placed approximately 50 pounds of items in it and it never broke.It also makes for a great weekend travel bag or just a day at the beach bag.I will never get rid of this most wonderful bag and shall keep it forever!This is a must bag for everyone.I ordered my name on it as well which just added that extra special touch!LOVE IT!

We have bought this very bag several times....they keep relocating to other family members. They love them also...just forget to return them. What can I say...we all love them and I only hope we can keep this one at least for a while.

Having owned this bag for years and loving it, I bought one as a wedding gift for friends, complete with the newlyweds' initial on it. THEY LOVED IT! It is practical but fun and nice looking.

I have two medium and one large tote. They are all monogrammed. I love these bags. So good looking and convenient for shopping and so many other things. LL Bean is guality. Wonderful customer service.

I have several of these tote bags and they are great. I use them for just about everything. They are very strong and can handle a heavy packing. I use them camping and for anything that can be placed in a tote bag and not have to make so many trips. Going to the beach its perfect. I highly recommend this item.

We have a few boat totes that have been in our family since the 80s and they still hold up. This most recent purchase came in the crazy colors of blue with orange embroidery. It's legit straight up OG New England with a spark. Major props L.L. Bean, keep on keeping on!

I've been buying the LL Bean totes since 1992! Can't possibly count how many I've owned for so many different purposes and how many I've gifted to friends and families. It's always always a great quality classic product made in USA. I love them so much!

These bags are wonderful. The 23-28 year old bags we use for groceries are getting a little tired, but I can't give them up. I bought a couple more just for a new look and hope they weather in as well as the older bags. I have patched holes, whipped frayed handles with sail twine, and think they are just perfect with so much character. Wouldn't consider buying totes from anyone else!
