I've owned well over 15 L.L. Bean Boat and Totes in various sizes. These rugged and heavy-duty totes are by far the most durable and the best tote bags on the market. The sturdy reinforced handles are the key. We use all of our totes daily. Groceries, camping, trips to the beach, and for everything in between. The only con is that over time, the colors will fade, but not its durability. I highly recommend Boat and Totes to everyone. Nothing compares.

Gave two extra large totes to my daughter's family to use at the beach, grocery shopping, etc. They love them! I have four of these totes myself and cannot say enough good things about them. I always get compliments from the grocery store employees about how nice they are.

We have purchased 4 of these tote bags for friends and to give as gifts. Everybody has loved these regular length bags. Highly recommend.

Gave as a gift to a teacher just starting out and she was thrilled. Monograming adds the perfect personal touch. I have one myself and love giving these to others!

I purchased my new Boat and Tote to replace the Boat and Tote that I purchased over 10 years ago. The only reason I replaced it was because the color of the tote handle had started to fray (not the canvas). Also I just wanted a new color as I carry my bag everyday to work as a "brief case". The old one will remain in service as a grocery bag. It's still in good shape, just not as pretty as it used to be. No reason to throw it away!

I purchased these bags for Christmas gifts for the people I do business with! Knowing LLBEAN's quality of workmanship I thought it would be a wonderful and perfect bag to fill with goodies!

I have had several of these over the years, but really mean, I still have them. Great choice in colors and sizes and they are so sturdy for the heavy grocery items. I throw mine in the wash too. (although it says to spot clean!)

I have a bunch of these durable and versatile bags. In the office we accumulate project files in numbered bags as they make their way around. At home I have one for my mountain bike stuff, another for my road bike stuff and my kid has one for his airsoft stuff. Got lots of stuff? Organize it in a B&T bag with the name embroidered on the outside then grab and GO when it's time to hit the road! If it's dirty - clean it, but not too much as the appearance only gets better with use. All of that and somehow still made in Maine, USA? How can you go wrong?

What a great catchall for trips always my last minute items go in here and it holds a lot.

I love this bag! it is good for anything you can imagine best go to bag! I buy for friends and gifts and all feel same way! everyone asks where I got bag! I can not say enough!!!

Over the years I have purchased a number of these bags for my daughters, granddaughters, great granddaughters and myself. They're attractive, durable, and there's no mistaking whose is whose as they're all personalized. We love them!

Back in the late'80's, I bought a LL Bean "Boat and Tote" bag to use as an anchor rode storage bag for my 5.5M Mirage sailboat. In it was stored a 10# Danforth anchor, 6 feet of chain, and 100 feet of 1/2" anchor line. Over the years it was dragged out over the decks of other boats larger and smaller including my 30' Catalina, a small catamaran dingy, and finally my last boat (so far at least) a 40' Cross Trimaran. After years of use, abuse, and anchor flukes, the bag finally out lived its usefulness. But after moving ashore to Alsea Oregon, the old anchor bag was unstitched, and retro fitted to become a log tote to help tend the wood stove in our new homestead. And now after eight more years of service, it is finally being retired permanently. Say hello to our new Log Tote. BTW Thanks Ryan for doing a great job of handcrafting my new Boat and Tote, Open-Top, Log Tote!!

This purchase is my second of this product. I bought my first two totes 20 years ago to carry my carpentry hand tools from my wood shop to the clients house for whatever work needed to be done installing what the client had me build for them. They are so well built I kept my old ones until they were pretty tattered and worn.

Love the bean totes! So strong and handy. I have every size an love them all.

This is an excellent product. The only problem is that it is too large. The XL is really large and we should have ordered the large.

This large size tote is well-made and perfect for holding a couple of beach towels, books, and swim gear for the kids and me. Absolutely love it!

I have purchased six for myself and several as gifts to others. I have never had a bag like this from any other source. This one stands up on its own, or if you need to you can put it in a small space by folding the top over. The handles are strong: I purchased my six bags years ago and use each one for a different purpose.Other than a few stains they look as though they were purchased yesterday. No fraying, no signs of wear. I am purchasing one now for my eldest son. I'm uploading a picture of the one I am traveling with today

You can never go wrong buying this tote. I use it every time I travel and especially for my knitting projects.
