Nice basic shoe. I have really wide feet, so finding nice (stylish) shoes is hard. Zappos did not have my usual size (7.5 WW), but I ordered in 8 WW. The shoe is high enough on my foot that the half size larger seems to fit ok. The width is great and they feel comfortable right out of the box. They aren't exceptionally stylish, but for plain black shoes, they work.

Trotters Ash - I am an f/a and work very long days. This is a very good looking shoe with either pants or a skirt, but not up for long days. After wearing for awhile, maybe they will be. I did buy another pair as to wear when not working. They fit nicely. I do really like the shoe!!!

I have this shoe in brown and wear it all the time so ordered it in black. They need a little breaking in which I don't remember with the first pair, but I'm sure I'll wear them often. They go well with dress pants and jeans. I have a very narrow foot and the slims are just right.

Great for big feet - Although I had to go up a size, this shoe does not look large for my big feet. They are very comfortable and the narrowing toward the toe creates sleek line. I would order them again!

Good all-purpose shoe. I have this shoe in 3 colors now -- it works well with both skirts and pants.

Trotters Ash - Looks great with jeans or office clothes. Not for extensive walking.

Very nice shoe - I like these shoes. The first day I wore them, I wore them all day and they were very comfortable. I was comparing them with another pair and chose these because the heel looked like it would take bumps and bruises and still look good. I am happy with these and plan to buy them in a lighter color in the spring.

Trotters Ash - This shoe looks nice. I have a narrow foot, with especially narrow heels, so this presents a problem in getting a good fit. With this shoe, I need to put an extra pad in the heels and cannot walk far in them. One problem I've found with Trotters is that they're not consistent. One pair will fit well, but when I ordered another pair in the same design but a different color, they don't fit. I've returned many shoes to you.

The micro stretch version of this shoe is a comfortable dressy shoe that provides a nice, snug fit for my very narrow (3A) foot. Usually slim width Trotters pinch my heel, but not in this style.

Finally found them? I previously owned a pair of Connie shoes that had the micro stretch top and absolutely loved them. They are so worn out and I tried to find a comparable pair, but no luck. Found these online and thought they were the most comparable I could find. The heel is a bit shorter than the others, and they feel a little clunkier when walking, but I just need to break them in, I guess.

Needs a little breaking in - The is a great looking shoe. And if you have a narrow forefoot you should love it. Although I have a narrow foot this shoe squeezed my toes a little. I didn't return it because I know once I wear it for a few short periods of time it will break in.

These shoes look really great- polished and almost dressy- in the new micro stretch version they're offered in, but the stretch really is "micro": the fabric is not too forgiving. People might find them more comfortable in the leather version (other reviews suggest the leather is quite soft). Fit-wise, they seem to run a little short, and also narrow and shallow in the toe, but wide-ish in the heel, making it hard to correct the length problem by sizing up. I had to go up a half size and choose the narrow width to get anything close to fitting. (If you're a narrow, that's probably what to order in this style, although I have found most other Trotters "narrows" way too narrow.

Very comfortable from day one .. no "break in" time

Trotters Ash - This is a good looking shoe but I wouldn't rate it too high for a lot of walking. It is pinching my little toe a bit but I don't have normal feet. I will buy them again but will keep in mind to bring along a pair of walking shoes for shopping, etc.

Trotters Ash - These shoes are comfortable, but had to order a half size larger than usual. Problem - instead of looking like a loafer with my pants, they look more like a boot.

Great Shoes - I've bought a pair of these exact shoes before somewhere else, and paid quite a bit more for them, but also loved them. Came to Zappos.com and found them! They are quite comfy, and last. The price was great for this shoe too. I reccomend them to anyone.

Great all around shoe - Nice shoe for office wear...fairly comfortable with a good classic look. You'll need to polish from time to time. Pretty good arch support, too.

A fine shoe. I bought this shoe because I had a pair like them a few years ago. While I still like the look, I find that it seems strangely old-fashioned. It's probably just my perception. The shoes pinch a little at the toes.

This shoe ran at least 1/2 size smaller for my foot. The firm elastic gores put pressure across the top of my foot...probably because of the overall shortness of the shoe. Nice looking basic slip-on. Zappo's does it right with their service every time!!

A winner (with a size issue) I have a high instep, and in spite of the elastic at the sides I had to order a wider size than I ordinarily wear. That being said, the resulting shoe is very comfortable.

Good basic shoe - I liked the look of these, but the heel/sole slipped and had the shoeman put a rubber heel on it to give better traction. I wear a 9.5WW and going up a half size for greater width, didn’t solve the problem and had the shoeman stretch in the toe box of both. I wear an orthotic, and it's extremely difficult to find multipurpose shoes that stay on, look good, have room for the orthotic, plus give sure footing. Trotters(please make more varieties in this type of shoe, plus colors, and allow the insoles to be easily removed) are the closest to the perfect shoe that I have found. Am very thankful for Zappos and their terrific service and return policy in my search! Thank you.

From Work to Fun - These shoes are stylish enough to wear to work and comfortable to wear afterwards. I love wearing my Trotters's Ash. I love the snug fit and the feel like the shoes were made just for me. I've bought several pairs and I'll continue buying Trotters's Ash.

A Little dowdy, but comfy - Shoe is just fine for an everyday flat to wear with pants. Not the most fashion forward shoe in town, but a nice, comfy basic.

Sleek little slip-on - A sleek look, high vamp and a solid low heel give these slip-ons the polished look you need for pants suits and tailored separates. There's not much in the way of cushioning or support; I added insoles to soften the footbed. I have not found Trotters very durable in the past and, sure enough, the back of these shoes is beginning to lose its firmness after a few weeks of wear (yes, I use a shoehorn!). But the look is great, the comfort is okay and the price is right, so if I get a year's wear out of them, I'll be satisfied.

Nice shoe - I have very narrow feet and often find that shoes marked as N or AA are not really narrow. I find that the Trotters Brand is always truly narrow. This shoe looks great and is very comfortable.
