I go back and forth with the Kayano. I also wear Brooks Adrenaline and mix it up a bit. The Asics cost more but last longer. The Brooks are less, wear out faster, but they have a much better selection of colors. I just had surgery and probably won't be able to run again for a few months, but I'm starting to buy the year's shoes now and the grey black in this 27 is one I really love and the 27 is a good Kayano fit for me this year!. I would like the toe covered with more sole material like it used to be for the rain and snow, so I still need to see how these do in those elements. Asics, at least in the past, have always done loads better than Brooks in wet conditions!. We'll see how the Kayano 27, which appears to have less protection rising up toward the toes, does.

I bought these trainers a few weeks ago as i aim to continue running while working from home. I read all the previous reviews before purchasing. I'm a UK size 4, but bought a size 5 and my toes are nearly touching the end, so would recommend going a size up when buying. The trainers are very soft inside and lightweight when running. It's taken me a few weeks to get comfortable running in them, but overall no complaints and thankfully no new pains in my legs or feet.

I'm a size 9 UK ladies and went for a half size up in these. Toe box is roomy (good for me) and you'll need thick socks as the toe box has thin material at toe which lets a lot of cool air in (maybe not so good for winter outdoor training!). Says this shoe is good for Pronators but couldn't feel any difference in arch support (bought some inner soles which fit nicely though).

Love the look of these and wanted to love the fit, but the top is not cushioned enough in the right places - the laces compress the top of your foot when tied adequately to stop your heel from slipping/lifting. Cushioning underfoot is great.

I got both these and the Hoka Bondi-7 at the same time to decide which to keep. If I had only gotten these ASICS, I would have been happy—I would have noted how they were a bit snug going on and how I could see my big toe moving through the fabric, but I would have considered those minor problems and could have grown to love these shoes. But then, I put on the Hokas, and it was like harps and angels. So, these perfectly fine shoes are being returned while I continue falling in love with my sole-mate (insert eye roll).

I wear a size 9 shoe and always order a size 10.5 in this shoe. I, like everyone else who has written a review, was waiting for the big comeback of this model. I agree, this is finally the GEL Kayano we all love. I have a strong supination of my left foot. Based on the recommendation of a physical therapist, I buy Protulas inserts for my shoes. Interestingly I buy a size 9 Protulas and they fit the 10.5 perfectly. I walk 5 miles at least 5 days a week and get new shoes and inserts every 500 miles or so.

I ordered Asics because I have consistently worn a size 8 in Asics running shoes. In winter, I wear two pairs of socks...one thin, one thick for warmth. I ordered size 8 and size 8-1/2 to be sure one would work for winter. I actually thought I would probably keep both pair and wear the 8 in warm weather, the 8-1/2 in cold weather. The size 8 was too short and the 8-1/2 was ridiculously long. I like the rather narrow width, but the 81/2 was *much* too long. No one can wear a shoe that is too short, and the size 8 was fine if I just stood still. Not a shoe to run in. I hated returning them. If you can get a pair to fit, I think you'll love them.
I'd also recommend:
Brooks, Nike

Nice fitting shoes - I went down half a size from my previous pair. My only negative is that after a few hours the tongue feels a bit tight on the top of the foot.

Great shoe with lots of stability. Had to return my normal 8.5 for a 9.5 because of how small they were. Definitely need to size up due to the heavy padding around the heel of the shoe.

I have run in ASICS for many years now and wouldn't change that for any other brand. Even as a pronator, I only recently started running in the Kayano. As a flat footed runner these really do give me that extra bit of control that I require upon striking the ground. This edition does feel a little more "snug" than previous models but does seem to have more cushioning that previous. Overall its a very comfortable shoe and offers a nice smooth ride. After running in another model for the best part of 10 years it is always going to take time to transfer across to a new shoe style, definitely give this a go if you have flat feet like me.

The last three pairs of running shoes I've had have been the Asics Kayanos, always 8.5 normal width. As an overpronator with sensitive knees, these shoes have always done me right. This time an 8.5 normal width felt really uncomfortable, too narrow and too small, even though the Gel-Kayano 25 in the same size&width fit great just moments before. Despite feeling too small, my heel was also slipping out just walking around my house. The fit is just off. I decided to just go with a different shoe and return these.
