I originally ordered 3 pairs of shoes of varying price and style, hoping to get one pair that fit well. I was looking for shoes that would work for trail hiking and long walks. These shoes are surprisingly supportive given their light weight. The fit is close on the heel and mid foot, yet my toes are not crowded at all. My ultra running daughter wears this style of shoe for trail running and hiking in the Colorado Rockies. I’m sold on this lighter design and will probably not buy heavy hiking boots again.

Finally hit a home run out of the park! My true 11 wide / extra wide foot has found a match! I tried these Ryka Summit Trail shoes on a whim, because they came in a wide width, and I'm so happy I did. Not only do they look nice (I got the gray version), but they don't look huge and clunky, nor do they make my feet look bigger. So far, this is what I can tell you: they are very lightweight - kinda forgot I was wearing them for a few minutes! They have a nice blend of fabric and mesh, and and the soles look sturdy and substantial. I like that they aren't solid white, and are mostly light blue on the bottom (they'll still show wear & dirt, but better than solid white!). They are generous in size - I'm a true 11 with a very wide foot, and normally look for the Keen or Merrel shoes with the wide/square toe box. These really surprised me with the wiggle room. The laces are on the thin size, but in the two or so hours I've been wearing them around the house, they haven't loosened up at all. The tongue is on the thinner side, and they could have added a little more substantial padding here, but that's ok, because I can actually wear a nice thicker sock with these shoes. The insole is easily removed, and they nicely accommodate two of my custom orthotics (the others would need to be cut down a bit on the sides, but otherwise fit). I'm pleasantly surprised to find a minimal arch, which is better than so many shoes now a days. Excited to go walking here before the snow comes, and really excited for Christmas down south where we hike almost daily. Don't get all peanut butter and jealous - get yourself a pair of these, you deserve them!! Thank you to Ryka for these great hikers!!

I am a size 9 or 9.5 but I always get athletic shoes in a 10. So the 10 fit perfectly - not exactly true to size for me.

Very comfortable shoe - no break in time needed. Toe box is generous. Wear them for walking & trail hikes. My last pair of Rykas had a sole that was so thin I could feel rocks on the trail - so I was hoping this shoe with its thicker sole would be an improvement & it is!! Highly recommend.

Love these shoes. I wore them on hiking trails and hard surface for fast walking and they felt very comfortable and supportive. I put my own orthotic in them because the insole did not feel like it was enough. Great shoe.

Perfect sneaker for hiking. Comfy for my arthritic toes and good support. Maybe not a full hiking boot so wouldn’t hill walk with it per se, but perfect for outdoor scrambles and trails. Also light enough to pack in luggage.

The toe box height was low! I love Ryka aerobic shoes, but this needed more room for heavier socks. I bought a half-size bigger 11, but couldn't see going to 12.

These are great! Very very light. Heavy hiking shoes hurt my knees. These are fantastically light. Great tread for gripping. I haven’t taken them on a super long hike but so far I really like them. If you don’t need a ton of ankle support from boots, these are fantastic hiking shoes. Good sized toe box.

Fit my 9 1/2 foot perfectly. They are great for hiking as well as casual walking. Comfortable to travel in and light enough to pack for a trip. Plus they look good!

Felt narrow; returned. Going to order a size up and a wider width

I got these shoes a few days before heading on a vacation that involved some intense hiking. They held up great and are light so can go from hiking to city walking easily. My feet are small but wide. I started with the regular fit and found it tight so had to go with the wide fit.

Depending on brand my shoe size can be anywhere from 7.5 to 8.5. with athletic or hiking shoes I've always been told that that you want extra room and found this to be true. The size 8 on these shoes were just a tad too short and too tight. I traded up for a 8.5 which fits better in the toes, but slightly more slippage in the heel which I am fine with. We're going for a hike today!

Amazing - these are as comfortable as my slippers! Very nice arch support and I love the lightweight feel. I enjoy hiking but I'm traveling on a plane and don't want/need my full blown hiking boots. These will be perfect for some easy/moderate hikes without adding bulk and weight to my luggage. I expect these will be my day-to-day go-to sneakers now.
