The last year has been a difficult one. I have a foot drop now due to a stroke, and have to wear an AFO. Only one pair of all my shoes accommodate it, my Air Force ones.
My great aunt swore by SAS, got them direct at the store as she lived in San Antonio.
I'm so glad I found these, most orthopedic athletic styles look old Manish. I'm only 40. These have really helped with my balance. In the last nine months I've had to learn to walk again three times. With these shoes, I was able to walk 1/10th of a mile to a restaurant from my hotel. Was able to walk back too.
Thank you SAS and Zappos! I feel somewhat human again. Just got these Friday, and I know they will get more comfortable as the polyurethane midsole breaks in.

Just as with other SAS shoe styles, the Journey Mesh is so comfortable you want to wear them out of the store! I was introduced to SAS Move On's when I was a letter carrier. I have an extra wide foot and had difficulty finding a comfortable walking shoe. I put on a pair of Move On's at home and wore them all day on my 10 mile walking route without a glitch. First pair outlasted other shoes 3 to 1. I also wear Time Outs and now the Journey Mesh. I have worn SAS for 15 years and will not even consider another brand.

This purchase is the third pair of SAS that I own. I have had some heel issue's and these are like gloves for the feet!! I just can't say enough about the quality and fit of SAS shoes.
I hope in the future SAS will continue to offer more colors of this style of athletic shoe, and I'll be adding more selections to my closet.

I am like another woman who reviewed these shoes recently, a woman with a very large foot, women's 12.5. Shoes rarely, maybe never, exist in a true 12.5 size for me! I followed her advice and purchased a man's 11.5 Narrow and was so sold on her review that I actually ordered 2 pair. One in gray and one in blue. They are a heavy shoe which Is a little disappointing with suede trimming that shouldn't get wet, but they are a perfect fit, extremely comfortable with great arch support. I am certain I will not need to place my support inserts inside these shoes! I was hoping that they might also make my feet appear a little smaller, but that would take a magic wand. Pricing of $174 per shoe was somewhat brutal, but I am sure I will get my money's worth in comfort.
Thank you once again, Zappos

Very secure and stable fit, similar to the New Balance 990's, but more suitable for general athletic activity, as opposed to the 990's, which are for running and walking.

This is my first SAS shoe and I have had them for about year now. They feel great and and don't have a flashy look like most sneakers. They blend in and are made for walking which what I want. Only one other company makes a wide shoe that fits my feet. And of course made in America. I am going to take a look at SAS dress shoes next.
I'd also recommend:
New Balance is the only other wide sneaker I know of. Made in America as well.

This is my first SAS shoes. I've been consistently purchasing fairly good shoes through the years, but nicely styled tennis shoes in this category are hard to find. I really like the looks of these shoes. I love the loops for the shoestrings that ensures the pressure is spread evenly over the foot. And, they feel good on the treadmill. Good shoes

I like the shoe and I liked the fir. However there was a wrinkle in the mesh on top front of the left shoe. I am surprised at the workmanship on this shoe for the price they charge. Because of the fit, I will try another pair. Maybe this flaw was just a fluke.

I have extremely wide feet, and this is the best shoe I've kept buying this same one for ~8+ years at this point. While they are certainly not the cheapest shoe you'll find, the value is there. They are a little tight the first 2-3 times wearing them, but after broken in they are the most comfortable shoe money can buy. Long story short: You get what you pay for. Highly recommend these to anyone with 1. Wide feet, and 2. Anyone who must stand 8 hours a day at work like me.

I HAVE BEEN WEARING SAS SHOES EXCLUSIVELY FOR AT LEAST 15 YEARS...THEY FIT TRUE TO SIZE AND ARE ABLE TO ACCOMMODATE MY ORTHOTICS...
MY ONLY WISH IS THAT SAS WOULD MAKE THE JOURNEY WITH A GOLF BOTTOM....
A GOLF SHOE WITH THE JOURNEY UPPER IS A PERFECT PAIRING..
VERY HAPPY WITH THE PRODUCT AND ZAPPOS....

I wear leg braces, for a neuromuscahlar disease, which must fit into the shoe. I have found that the SAS products give me the support and stability I need while walking and standing. They also hold up very well to the pounding they get from the foot plate of the brace. The style works for me and I can wear them with most of my casual clothing.

Best athletic shoes I ever owned. And they have size14 1/2 -amazing. After getting the first pair I ordered a second pair. I wear orthotics but the insert that comes with the shoes is enough support. Now I will say I ordered wide and after time these shoes have stretched a little. Next time I will get Medium.

My husband was so impressed with these and the comfort level was off the charts. Disclaimer...we’ve never paid this much for tennis shoes, so our comparison is based on New Balance and the like. He is amazed at how well they fit, how comfortable they are, how well they support.

Lucky for Tulsa, we have our own SAS shoe store. I own several pair of SAS shoes all styles and colors which include four pair of good looking journey mesh, grey, blue, black and white/gray. The journey mesh is one very comfortable shoe and there's nothing I dislike about any one of the four pair. No matter where you wear them or what you do while you're wearing them they're always comfortable. SAS shoes are quality built and last a very long time and are the only brand of shoes I've purchased for over 25 years and I like the idea that they're made in the USA. I plan to keep adding to my collection.

At first my husband was wary of purchasing SAS shoes due to their reputation of functional shoes for seniors. Along with this pair, he also "purchased" Clarks and another brand I can't recall. The SAS shoes were by far the most comfortable and we returned the other two pair. He has wide feet and wears inserts and these shoes fit him to a "T". He highly recommends these shoes for looks and comfort.

I use these shoes on a daily basis, in fact I normally trade off between the two pair daily. One day I wear the gray pair the next day is the black pair. I am diabetic and have neuropathy in both feet, have been wearing SAS shoes for at least 20 years and are the only shoes I can wear. I have no complaints.

I am a woman who needed a 12.5 woman’s sneaker which there are NONE THAT ARE COOL! SO I got a MANS 11.5 size of this SAS SNEAKER. ( I have worn both woman’s and men’s SAS shoes so I KNOW how TOTALLY comfortable they are! ) BOY, I was NOT DISAPPOINTED !! This sneaker fit perfectly and is so very comfortable!!. It has great arch support. It does come with a lined inner sole that you could take out If you were orthotics or thick socks. The ZAPPOS Phone rep advised me to get a mans medium since I usually wear a woman’s WW. This was perfect! All I can say is that the sneaker is so comfortable and is very stylish looking. I got it in a gray color and it does not look tremendous for my big foot. Thank you so much for Zappos for carrying this brand. You are a lifesaver!

These are very sharp looking shoes, but the men's 6.5 EE (sz 8 in women's) made my feet look huge (I'm a 56 year-old woman, and I have trouble finding good women's shoes that are wide enough). The upside of all that room in the front is that my orthotics fit very well, and there is plenty of room for my bunions, so when I first put them on, they felt really good. They are very well-constructed, and have very good support. A PLUS is that they have built-in rubber padding on the inside bottom of the ball-of-foot area. They seemed a bit stiff, but would probably break in fine with time. I returned because I could not justify the price for shoes I did not absolutely love, even though they seem to be very well-made and will probably last a long time.
