My feet are wide and I've never been able to find a comfortable and stylish shoe my whole life. I am thinking of buying another pair for back up

It seems that the older I get, the more difficulty I have finding comfortable shoes (10.5 extra wide). This is my first pair of SAS shoes and they fit and feel great! I have just ordered a pair of SAS Ambassadors hoping that the fit is as comfortable as the Ventures. Since I just received these shoes, I cannot comment about their longevity so I will amend this review if I find that the shoes wear too quickly. Lastly, the prices for these shoes ($234 for the Ambassadors, e.g.) seems a bit high and comparable to up scale brands with full leather construction, but since the fit and comfort, so far, has been great and since they are American made, I will pay the premium. One last comment about style: I find that most of the SAS shoes on Zappos are not attractively styled and could use an update.

Bought these for my husband who is 70+. They are very comfortable and cool looking. Not for an old man at all. He puts his orthotics in them and loves them. He has 2 pair

I went through so many pairs of "cost effective", imported shoes. Now that my feet have stopped growing, I decided to give American made shoes a chance because I was sick of getting blisters on my feet, or having the shoes fall apart after 6 months. So far, I am in love with these shoes. They're comfortable, stylish, and simple. What's different is that this company takes different feet widths into consideration, which is why I could walk 10 miles in these shoes with no problems.

I wear a 12B shoe, which really limits my choices. Also have plantar fasciitis and a hammer toe on my right foot. With all of THAT going on, my feet really get sore when I stand all day. Today was my first day with my SAS Ventures and my feet feel great! These are absolutely the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn and they are worth every penny. Thanks SAS!

I'm liking my SAS sneakers. Simply, yet stylish. Easy to on the feet. Somewhat weather resistant. Overall a good show.
I'd also recommend:
Vans - as they a true to fit.

Bought these (in navy) at my local store in Plano. These are extremely comfortable. Get these you will be happy with them.

This is my 3rd pair of SAS shoes and I honestly can't see me buying a different brand ever again. These fit the same as my other 2 pair and I wear a wide width. I had read a review somewhere that the toe box was a bit narrow on this model so I called customer service to ask about that as there is no local dealer for me to visit. She said it should for the same as my other SAS shoes and it does. Super comfortable, I wear each pair all day at work on a concrete floor and have zero foot pain. I won't wear anything else to work.

I've been having trouble finding extra wide sneakers that are actually extra wide. A previously reliable maker of extra wides has apparently started making them more narrow in the toe box, but kept them listed as extra wide. I was thrilled to find SAS which I had never heard of before, as these sneakers are truly extra wide. They fit perfectly and are very comfortable. Although they're somewhat expensive, these appear to be well made and you really can't put a price on comfort.

Incredibly comfortable walking shoes! I have flat feet so always struggle to find shoes that are comfortable, have good arch support, and don't look orthopedic. These shoes really feel great and my feet don't pronate with the default insoles. I usually buy cheaper shoes but these were worth the price and I'm hopeful they last a long time.

I could not believe I could actually get a pair of shoes that look great and most importantly, they fit! My feet are considered ski feet in that they are long, size 12, and extremely narrow A sometimes AA+. So I made do with tongue pads and all manner of padding just to get a decent fit. Then I found the Venture on line and ordered a pair delivered to a store in Scottsdale. To my great surprise I went to the store and the Venture's fit me perfectly, no more pads and different foot pads. They couldn't be more comfortable and stylish. The blue is a great color and I have never received compliments on my size 12 shoes before. Classy and stylish. Even my spine doctor commented on me wearing "good shoes".Just try them and I bet you will like not only the style but the comfort.
I am going to order another pair in blue since I would like a back up ready for action as it were.

Fantastically comfortable shoe. Great for general walking. The widths are generous and help with wide bunions. Soft leather uppers. Overall great looking as well.

I purchased a pair of the Venture shoes and have to say they were worth the money. I have narrow feet so need a narrow shoe and the fit is true to size. This is the first shoe I have purchased online that I didn't have to return for a different size. Comfortable and look good too.

Great shoe for orthotics. My husband has a bad back and these shoes were recommended. He wears orthotics and these work great with them. They are hip looking as well

Just added a pair of good looking Ventures to my SAS shoe collection and they're as comfortable as all the other SAS shoes of mine. These are very light weight shoes. SAS always does an outstanding job of creating quality footwear that is always so comfortable and will last for many years. SAS knows what they're doing and they do it right.

Only thing is I wish it had a little more arch support. No shoe I buy no matter the brand has enough for me

I wear a size 12 1/2 AA. The 13N I ordered was way too long, and way too wide. Too bad I had to return, as they appeared to be of great quality and I liked the fact they are made in USA. I wish shoe companies would accommodate us out there who have narrow feet!

I have edema in one leg, so one foot is slightly swollen. Consequently, fitting shoes is challenging. That said, I own several pairs of comfortable shoes (OluKai, Geox, Florsheim, Born). However, I need better support on occasion and decided these SAS shoes might be them. I purchased my size in wide width, found they were tight in length and width, so I exchanged for half size larger and double wide.
I applaud the support and quality of materials, and that they are made in the US. I also appreciate the extra laces of contrasting color which I used. The shoes feel stiff, though this may improve over time. They are also a little heavier than expected, but I attribute this to the quality of the product. Style is not an SAS strong point, but these are decent in an understated way. The bottom line is that these are not as comfortable as some of my other shoes, but hoping that will improve with repeated use.
My one gripe with Zappos is that they do not permit an update of a previous review. Once in a while, I update a review on Amazon if I determine a purchase was far better or worse after a while, even a year or two. An initial impression can change over time, and that is the real test of a product. Since on-line reviews are a vital part of decision making, Zappos would have better accuracy if they provided this ability.

Seems like nice shoe, good wide width, but opening is too small to get a wide foot on comfortably.

The size was perfect, the width was not made correctly. The toe box area felt true to width, but the arch area (middle of shoe) was to small, you were walking on the outside of the shoe stepping on the rim of shoe with a lot of pain.

You know I didn’t think this one through. I thought SAS equaled slip resistant. It ain’t. I wanted a solid shoe to wear in my theater/restaurant and these weren’t the ones. I had stained them before returning so they became my gardening shoe. They’re good for that but a $100 gardening shoe isn’t right. Don’t want to dog the shoe but it wasn’t as “cool” as it looked in the picture. More like cool geriatric. But alright. I love SAS, the last pair cured my plantar fasciitis, this pair, not the answer for me.

I've owned SAS Journeys for several years. I wanted something like a dress sneaker, so I tried Venture. I wear a 13 Medium in a Journey, and a 13 Wide in the Venture. SAS says the 2 are made on the same last, but the Venture is narrower in the toe box than the Journey. In truth, the Journey is a very wide Medium width. I normally wear a wide. I have a custom orthotic, and the Venture has room for it once the insole is removed.
Things I like:
1) The shoe fits to size. Lengths and widths are true
2) The Venture is padded under the insole, so you don't lose much cushioning by removing the insole
3) You can wear them with pants or shorts
4) The Navy color is not overstated. It is a subdued dark blue and quite nice
5) No break in
6) Not as stiff as the Journey shoe, but still has structure
All in all, a nice shoe that has a more youthful appearance than other SAS shoes
