They are well made and have a good sole. Absolutely no arch support and my feet get cold in 1 inch of snow. They should be lined for a winter boot. The laces really don't go with this boot and are too long. Not sure if I will keep them.

I love the color and the look.
I am still not sure about the fit. I feel like there is too much room on the top of my foot area but I have worn them several times so I can't return. I bought an 8.5 which is my usual size and I do have a narrow foot but I don't know if sizing down would have helped.
Also, there isn't much cushion in the bottom.
All in all I like the shoe but don't love because of the reasons I mentioned above.
I wish I loved them :)

I liked the style of the shoe. Size is correct size. The issue I have is that the top sides of the shoes hit my ankle bone. IT's tolerable, but annoying. The heel is cushioned and comfortable. The sole is not. I can feel the ground or cement under it. It should have a thicker sole or more of an insole.

Wanted these boots so bad!! But they're not made for a slender foot so I had to return them. Hey LL - why not have narrow sizes sometimes?

Usual good bean quality-- but after I wore them a couple times, I realized, NO arch support. I needed to add that on my own. Also, the shoe strings could be improved. They are way too long for shoes with only a couple lace holes, and plain flat, when a round, heavier style would suit better.

I am writing this review with mixed feelings about these shoes. On one hand they are a rich suede with an excellent sole and good toe room. For me, they were loose enough so that I could wear a fairly thick sock. However, I have a high arch and like another reviewer, I must agree that there is no arch support. I tried using a couple different brands of inserts to help with the lack of arch support, but neither one worked. Unfortunately I had to return them.

Chuck the stone! These were supposed to be an 8.5 D width and I could barely get my foot past the arch of the shoe. Once on, the width was nowhere near what a D width should have been. They're a beautiful shoe -- too bad I have to return them.

They were uncomfortable on my forefoot due to bunions. They slipped in the heel and the insole could not be replaced with my orthotics. They are nice looking though, and seem well made.

These look to be very well-made shoes and the materials are high quality. However, they were very unflattering and unsupportive. The outside appearance is that of a very flat-soled, sturdy and ‘ugly-cute’ type of shoe, but I thought the inside might have some nice cushioning and support as well as be comfortable but the shoe actually felt exactly the way it looked - clunky and flat. They also made my feet look massive - not just long but large and clunky like a man’s foot would look in a boot. Decided to return.

I purchased these because I loved my chuccas like this in the 70's. OOPS, not like the 70's at all!
Not all that happy, they really hurt my feet. I do NOT have wide feet, I ordered a size 8, the length was perfect, they were just tight throught the width. I sent them back. I would not recommend them to a friend, or you who are reading this..... Sorry LL BEAN!

I found these to be a bit too snug through the toe area. They just don't seem to becomes more flexible as they are worn. I would not buy this shoe again, but would recommend anyone buying them to try them on before they actually wear them outside. The shoelaces are very loose and don't seem to hug the ankle area too well.

This boots looks very nice and I am sure it is good for some people. However, they were very uncomfortable for my feet. I wore them several times trying to break them in although they only rubbed my ankles more each time I wore them. Finally I returned them.

I've been looking for chukkas. They didn't fit properly. The left foot was too tight and the right foot was extremely large. Almost like I had two different sizes. I returned them

What a shame. I thought LL Bean would have a comfortable and quality product. Other reviews said these were uncomfortable but I didn't listen. I tried to "wear them in" using thick socks and walking around the house and then to the store, etc. These hurt the tops of my feet. The leather is too stiff and does NOT get more pliable with wear. Please L.L. Bean - Read this. I have wasted my money !
