I use them for everything. I've walked about 50 mi in them so far, have not yet run in them. At first they seemed more stiff than the ST-3s but now they are breaking in so I can run in them. They have a little more structure than the ST-3s with a little more support on the medial side but I am a suppinator so that works well for me. Love the fit especially because I have a bunion on one foot. I don't wear any other shoe because they are so comfortable.

They fit my heel the best of any shoe I have worn. There is plenty of room in the toe box.

Love the updated ST-4. Love the color. The improved laces stay tied and as always this zero drop sneaker is the most comfortable sneaker out there and I've tried a lot of different brands over the years.

I use my Topos in the gym for weights and also HIIT. They are perfect! Love the roomy toe box as my feet are a little wide, they are very comfortable!

My TOPOs are used for walking. I love that they're lightweight. If I could make a recommendation, I would ask for a slightly thicker sole. As this is my fourth TOPO purchase, I'm not complaining. I'm loyal to this shoe. It's just that sometimes on a surface with thick gravel, the show sole feels thin. Otherwise, great.

Full disclosure, I haven't been able to run in this model yet. I had the ST-3 and loved them so much I wore through the sole all the way to the insert. I'm getting this new model I have had to size up twice. I was an 8 in the ST-3 and a 39 in all other euro sized shoes. I'm on my second return hoping that going up to a 9 (40.5 eu according to topo size chart) will finally give my toes enough room.

Foot shaped, comfortable, just the right amount of cushion. I wear an 11 in nikes, 11.5 in Altras, 11 in merrells. Had to order a 12 in topos and I think if I purchase them again I'll order a 12.5.

I like the older version better. These are stiffer and there is support in place that feel a bit odd. It seems more pronated than neutral as compared to previous versions. Sad as I have moved away from this show and brand. I do love the wide toe box.

The ST-4 has a nice wide toe box and feels better on my entire foot than a previous version. I ordered my normal size and they were very snug in the toe box, they seem to run a half to a full size small. I love wearing these for gym training, mostly weights and HIIT.

I purchased the ST-4 for the gym for light weight training, bodyweight exercises, balance exercises, stretching, etc. I'm no longer a runner so can't comment on that. There's sufficient cushion to walk a few laps to warm up. I wear a wide. There aren't any training shoes out there for wide feet.Topo doesn't make wide widths (for midfoot) either. But the ST-4 works OK for my wide midfoot and high instep without cramping my foot. Good heel lockdown. Enough cushion for my arthritic feet. My age is 62.

They fit well, true to size in length. The width in the toe area was a bit too much, (they looked a little like clown shoes) , so I returned.

The redesign has take a bit longer to break in and get used to than I would have liked. Much more so than the first two pairs of the ST-4. The toe box is roomier and at first felt a bit sloppy. Extremely hard to get on the foot and gapped at the ankle. Have to adjust every time putting on and taking off. Shoe laces are way too long. But everything is getting easier with more wear.

I loved the ST-3 version of this shoe and owned several pairs, but I hate the newly designed ST-4 and will not be purchasing another pair. The design of the ST-3 was much more attractive and stylish, and the addition of the plastic/rubber piece around the toe box hurts my toes, and makes the shoe feel more rigid. I use Correct Toes toe spacers and loved the soft fabric toe box of the ST-3. It was not only a more comfortable shoe, but a significantly more attractive shoe. I LOVED the ST-3. Hopefully Topo brings back the previous design, meanwhile I will be looking for another brand of zero drop flexible shoes.

I'm disappointed in these compared to the ST-2 and ST-3s that I've been loving and wearing for years. I use the ST model for walking, HIIT and strength training workouts and the previous generations of these shoes have worked great. The new ST-4s look and feel clunky, and the insides feel slippery and my feet move around. The shoes don't perform well when I'm engaging in lateral or balancing movements. Overall, I prefer the more minimal and secure feel of previous generations & hope Topo will go back to that in the future.

Since I have been wearing them only for walking short distances and not for everyday walking I have started having leg and foot cramps. I will keep using them to see if the cramps go away as maybe maybe my legs are trying to adjust to the shoes. This brand was recommended to me for walking and not for everyday shoes. I may have to return them if the leg cramps do not go away after an adjustment period.. I believe I have 90 days to return them.

First want to say that I love Topo shoes and I have had multiple pairs ST-2s and ST-3s as well as other models. Also I won a free pair of shoes in a drawing earlier this year and held out to get the new model STs. This was that pair. I was prepared to love these like I have all the others but they are not the light, quick STs of the past. The good - they have the great Topo ST fit, roomy toe box and tight heel which is one of the things I love about Topo shoes in general. I also love the 'denim' color. The not so good - I am not sure if it is the new overlays or the toe bumper or what but they feel stiff and clunky. Initially I thought they were heavier or that the stack was higher but they are all the same as the ST-3s. The only difference I could tell was the addition of the toe bumper and overlays. They were free and I will keep them in my rotation but they won't be my go to like my ST-3s have been. I will probably go searching for another pair of ST-3s maybe on sale if I can find them. I am recommending them because they are still great shoes in a great color and others will likely appreciate the way they feel. I just wanted them to still be like the ST-2s and 3s of the past.

I have trouble tying laces so they stay tied. These laces are sticky so they stay tied. All shoes should have these laces. On the other hand, I prefer the construction of the ST-3 to this new model. The unlayered design of the ST-3 was smoother and fit better. Most importantly, the ST-3 was the only shoe that didn't have what is probably a side support construct that aggravates a bone on the outside of each foot. I will be keeping my ST-3s and hope they last a good long time.

Walking on concrete and these do not have that comfortable feel that my others have had. Had fli-Lytes many years ago and love them. Can't find them anymore so have tried others. Love Topo and will always wear them but would love to find my old school Fli-Lytes that feel wonderful on my feet.

Not sure why they changed them, I used to love the ST-3's roomy toe box, but this ST4 has some material painted on, probably for reinforcement, that restricts the toes down, not allowing the material to stretch. The neoprene back is angled weirdly and hits my achilles- not sure if that'd stretch out in time but the toe box is a deal breaker so didn't want to keep them. Shame, otherwise these used to be perfect sneakers- minimal, zero drop, but still comfortable and protective.

I have been a Topo fan for many years and loved the STs, ST-2s and ST-3s. I am not much of a fan of the ST-4s however. They are stiff and the heel feels very heavy. The overlay on the toes makes them feel too hot for summer running. I hope Topo will consider going back to the lighter and more flexible older versions of the ST model that so many runners loved. In the meantime I too have gone to Xero for their lightweight 0-drop minimal shoes.

The ST-3 shoes were fantastic in every way -- wore them walking, running, and even hiking and felt the ground under my feet with lots of room in the shoes for my toes to spread out correctly. These shoes have been nothing but a horrible let down. They're WAY too stiff, they seem to be rolling my feet inward, and no joke I even ended up getting a corn from them. My feet are KILLING me within a quarter mile walking in these whereas I could literally walk 10+ miles a day -- day after day, on any terrain -- in the ST-3s. The ST-4s are somehow the most awful Topo shoes I've ever worn after the ST-3s being the best. I thought maybe something was off with the first ST-4 pair I bought and got another pair, and immediately the same discomfort occurred. Not buying another pair until they change and for the first time in several years looking for a different brand of shoes entirely. Please, Topo, bring back what was good in the next iteration of these shoes! :(

Soles are much stiffer than my ST-3. They hardly bend even after several runs. The heel has a weird area that sticks out and isn't flush with the shoe, either. They feel heavy and bulky in comparison to the 2 pairs of ST-3 that I have. I loved loved my ST-3's and were really stoked to be gifted these for Christmas. Sadly they just don't measure up.
