After reading reviews, I'm convinced that people with high maintenance feet are all one-offs and finding great footwear is almost a career. I'm a senior citizen with arthritis in my feet, especially in my high-maintenance toes. I'm moving from a temperate climate to a colder climate that I fully intend to waltz around in, so I'm looking for waterproof short boots that don't aggravate my toes. I got these boots in the widest size available to make room for thicker socks, and am totally happy with the fit and style. The heel is low enough that the weight of the foot isn't pressed into the ball of the foot. For my problem feet, they work.

This is my second pair, a half size larger to accommodate new and better orthotics. I wore the first pair first to a funeral, then on the trip of a lifetime to El Salvador, where they worked for hills and trails as well as village streets. Then I wore them out doing field work and gardening and city hiking. I am delighted to start over with a new pair. I'm 70 and have received many compliments on the boots from the young and stylish. The zipper has never been a problem and is a great convenience.

Oh, how I wanted to keep these boots! They looked fabulous on my feet and I almost didn't care that my poor feet felt like they were being tortured... okay, they were not that bad! I normally wear a size 8. These little boots in size 8 felt like almost.. not quite.. a full size too small. Seriously, I might have been able to get away with a half size larger and would have tried if they had anything larger than my 8 at the time. It doesn't pay to wait to buy this type of boot after the winter sales have come and gone..lol. Now after saying all that, I have to tell you this boot was so cute on my feet. It made them look so small and dainty.. yes I said dainty. How can a duck style boot look dainty? I seriously don't know, but this one succeeded, I swear it. It was incredible. They went with everything: pants, skirts, jeans.. it didn't matter what I tossed on, the boots stood out as the highlight of every outfit. If you need a boot like this and you can find your size or a bit larger, buy it and try it on. Your feet will look .. well.. dainty. I may try again if they ever get back in stock. Really, I wish more manufacturers would make boots that give our feet a more feminine look even as they keep us warm and dry.

Found them comfortable right out of the box without having to break them in. They are definitely a strong water resistant and I like that they have the function of a sturdier hiking boot but the appearance of a simple bootie.

I absolutely love these boots! I wore them all day on the first try and was extremely happy with the very comfortable fit for my wide feet. Very good inside padding and overall shoe cushioning. I hiked in them in slushy snow / mud on day two and stayed dry - they cleaned up very easily with a moist sponge. I wore them again a third day in a row, on my feet all day and I had no foot pain as I usually do in most tennis or athletic shooes / boots. I ordered a second pair of these less than a week in!! Highly recommend if you have wide feet and an active lifestyle.

Comfortable. Not suited for narrow heals. The toe width was excellent (with hiking socks, which is as I wanted it.) Comfort was good. However, even though I have wide feet at the toes, I have narrow heals. Because of my narrow narrow heals, I could not keep the boots. If you have average heals, I would recommend that you give this comfortable boot a try.

So hard to find a comfortable boot for a wide foot needing orthotics. This is comfortable, well made, and sturdy without being clunky or heavy.

I read a review here by " Barbara" ( who said she is 70 yrs old), and being 68 myself, I figured if she liked them, I would too. Ditto, to your review Barbara ! I LOVE these boots! They are stylish, EASY to put on and take off, and for me anyway, I feel " secure' in them, not off balance as in other shoes. LOVE the comfort, as well as the look. They are a little tight at first, but within a couple hours they mold to your foot just perfect. I've used them while out in the gardens, but might get another pair just so I have " newer" looking ones ( cleaner) for going out. These are my favorite walking shoe, too.

I was concerned by the reviews that suggested to buy a size larger. I'm usually an 8 but got an 81/2. These shoes fit tight for just a few steps, but sure glad I didn't get a wide OR a 9. As is, I can tell I'll be wearing a thicker sock eventually for the half in larger. And the width is just about perfect. Great little boot, and looks good in brown. I'll be walking in them a lot. Great for dewy morning grass too, as they are waterproof.

This was my second pair as they are the most comfortable, supportive and pretty work boot I have ever owned. These boots are perfect for garden work and the leather is easily cleaned and the soles are flat and great for uneven ground

I usually wear a size 8 but found they were not comfortable - a bit too small. I ordered a 1/2 size larger this time and they fit great!!

I usually wear size 8 (USA) but the fit and comfort were much better when I exchanged for the 8.5 size. Great style and very comfortable right out of the box.

I wear a size 8 normally and take a B width if the shoe is running a little bit on the wide side. These shoes fit perfect in an 8W. It was a toss up between these and a pair of Wolky "Why". kept the Wolky because they had just a little more padding on the foot bed, but it was a hard decision.

Shoes fit very well, soft yet supportive, and light weight. Did not need any break in time at all.

I love the way these shoes feel. Very comfortable and although they are higher than I normally wear in the ankle department, I don't notice that when walking. You have a choice to use the laces or zippers. I've been using the zippers so far and quite like it.

Good fit, the soles are too smooth to work as rain/snow boots

Love the blue color! I think this is a boot for more casual wear. If you tighten the laces for being active, then the closer fit makes the zipper catch on the gusset of the shoe's tongue. That fold helps keep the boot waterproof, but complicates the zipper.

Pro, the size was perfect both length and width. Con, the leather is so thin and stiff it felt like a synthetic and looked synthetic also. It is too stiff to cinch at the ankle to keep the boot from sliding up and down when I walk.

Had ordered 8.5EW, it was too large, re-ordered 8W which fits perfectly, great looking shoe, arch support is superlative for my high arches...love the blue color...Aravon is my go to brand...

These booties felt true to size and had good arch support. They are also nice looking. Had to return them because the leather was much too stiff and a fold by the zipper rubbed and irritated my ankle.

Bought these 10EE for my spouse, as the 9.5EE were just too small, and the new ones fit perfectly. And the Stone Blue color is gorgeous. Thanks, Zappos, for the quick exchange.

very similar to my other Arrovons - was hoping for a little tread for slippery sidewalks

Comfy right out of box. Plenty of toe box width, and arch support. I purchased Zappos recommended size but these were too long for me.

These were very comfortable right out of the box. I wore them with a medium weight sock (Hue's jeans socks) and the medium width accommodated my bunions just fine. I'm always wary of non-traditional zippers--these curve on the outside of the foot--but they were easy to zip. I didn't experience any discomfort with the decoration on the sole of the boot.

Super comfy, right out of the box. Loved them right out of the box, but went with the Aravon Fairlee, which is the style I had before. Can't beat a reliable shoe. These are great for a more sporty look, but wanted an overall shoe that could get me through with one boot for jeans and dresses. (Thanks COVID, we just don't go 'out' that much anymore!) Love the Aravon brand. VERY predictable.
