Usual size is 8AA, 8S or 8N. In Brooks athletic shoe an 8.5AA. The Aravon Portia 8AA is at least one size too big, maybe 2 sizes too big. Heel would not stay on if it weren't for the strap.

Beautiful shoe, but just too small/short for me at size 13 - I hit the top limit, so I can't exchange. It must be the brand, since a different style had the same problem.

These fit really well. The narrow is a true narrow and the shoe is very comfortable. However, I'm returning them, because the style is just way too matronly for my taste.

Alas, I had high hopes for this. When my regular size (8.5) arrived I thought it was very comfortable but way too big. Zappos was out of the 8 so I tried a 7.5 wide, which was a bit too short. I feel like Goldilocks on the search for "just right." Thank goodness for the easy return policy.

Surprised at how "off" the sizing was in these shoes since I wear the sister brand New Balance all the time and an 8 ½ wide is perfect. I will reorder in an 8 w and may actually need a 7 ½. Toe box width is important to me. Like the little heel, style is ok, a little old ladyish, but looks well made. The velcro strip is long enough for me, and doubt I will have any problems when/if I get the correct size. Wish the black price was the same as the blue price. Needed blue for a party dress, but event is over, so will order the black - almost twice the price, but for bad feet, end up paying a premium anyway. Zappos continues to be great with orders/returns.

Returning- bought three pairs of shoes this style and all three had different insoles/inserts, and none of them had a comfortable, soft layer I would expect from New Balance. Quality control on this shoe is poor. The right shoe was gaping in the middle of my foot, and the other color of the same shoe didn't do this. Disappointed, New Balance!!! :'(

Love to look of the shoe, but it's too big. I am 7.5 wide, but I have to return these shoes. Will order half size smaller and see how it fits.

Dressy looking shoes however for me the shoe was not deep enough with insole but too deep without it. I did not like the stacked look heel.

I ordered these in "navy blue." I put that in quotes, because the color is not navy at all! You can actually see that in the Zappos picture, but I was hoping that since they're called "navy," maybe the picture was off. Nope, you can believe the picture. I would call them a sort of grayish-blue. This was SO disappointing because they're actually quite comfortable -- and I'm very picky about shoes, and rarely rare dress shoes. I walked around the house in them and felt like I could comfortably wear them all day. I wanted them to work, but I needed them for a wedding in which my dress was a true navy, and I felt like the color actually clashed. I'm attaching a picture with them compared to another navy heel I ordered. (Unfortunately, those, a SAS pump, were way too tight). Besides the color, they also had little bits of string here and there fraying around the straps. If this is how they look new, that doesn't bode well for how they would look after wear! For that reason, I thought the shoes were way too cheap-looking for the high price.

Sadly, these are quite frumpy, so they are going back. Also long for the size.

Fairly comfortable, but not very stylish. Looked better on the video than on me.

I ordered these shoes in Navy and though they're comfortable, I would have been a lot happier had they actually been "Navy" and not a very dark shade of what I would call "teal" blue. Additionally, I had to actually trim threads and excess fabric at the top of the heel area of one of the shoes because it was poorly sown and threads, etc. weren't trimmed. I hope they don't begin to become unraveled and necessitate a trip to the shoe repair shop.

An extremely comfortable shoe and the black is stylish and smart. But the suede on the navy looks like it has mildew on it; has a whitish coloration, rather than navy. Was so looking forward to a navy shoe, but this doesn't compare to the same shoe in black.

Love the cushioning on these! They are perfect for my heel as I am just recovering from plantar fasciatis. However, the toe portion is too narrow and aggravated my bunion/arthritis. Sadly, I am returning these but will try the wide size to see if that is a better fit.

Width is off - Love the look of this shoe. Moderate arch support. I have a narrow foot with a high arch and finding comfortable shoes is pretty impossible. I ordered a 9N and this show felt like a true medium width.

Comfortable shoe but Strap too short for my 9EE foot. Strap is short by about an inch for secure attachment. Unfortunately going up a size would give me a longer strap but a too long shoe as well. This is the first time I've bought an Aravon shoe that doesn't fit my extra wide foot. Disappointed since it is tough finding pumps that look good with skirts and dresses.

When I first rec'd these shoes I was very excited. They looked good and were comfortable right out of the box. I took them on a cruise for dinner only. I hadn't worn them 6 hours when the strap started to tear out of the shoe. I was very dismayed du to the price I paid. Not sure why this only happened to the left shoe, but was very dismayed as I have hard to fit feet and these were very comfortable upon first wearing. Will contact Zappos and see what they are going to do about situation. I guess buyer be ware concerning these shoes.

Shoes are stiff and heavy. Heel too high.

These are nice looking shoes but they didn't work for my foot problems--neuroma and arthritis big toe. The strap on the left shoe was too short. I was actually able to get my orthotics inside but they still hurt too much.

For the price, this shoe is very poorly made. Next to each other, the two shoes were not even made the same way, at the strap where it's very noticeable. Poor quality control and poor workmanship. By far, they are the most disappointing shoe ever.

Caused my feet to pronate!

I requested 7 1/2 EE and 8EE. The shoes are really badly made, the stitching is uneven,the dye on the 'alligator part is mottled, The shoe was obiously worn. in extremely bad shape and to top it off it cost $150! I got it in two sizes the 7 1/2 was too short in the toe box and the 8 was too long. The sides in the back, were obiously worn. I am really surprised that these shoes are being sold by Zappos.I am just trying to get a pair of shoes that fit and look decent. I hope this helps someone. This is the first time I have gotten a shoe that was so badly made. The shoe design is clever, but the product was not.

Very comfortable and well made shoe, I tried really hard to make them work. The style just looked so unflattering and matronly on that I can't get past that so back to wonderful Zappos they go. If they came in soft metallic color or cute colors with more updated heel shape, and lighter color sole I'd probably get them in multiple colors.

These shoes are hideously ugly. I wanted to like them but they are just horrible.
