I tried this shoe even though I normally wear extra-wide and these shoes only come in wide. It is a very well-made shoe, but unfortunately too narrow in the toes for me. The heels fit well -- they don\'t make the mistake of making the heel excessively wide, which it seems some companies have started to do. If these are released in extra-wide, I would try again. I think they would be great for anyone who spends 16 hours a day on their feet.

My feet are finicky and hard to fit. I have a wide forefoot, a narrow heel, and Morton's neuromas on both feet. So I rarely find shoes that I'm completely happy with. But I am thrilled to have discovered Aravon. These shoes were immediately comfortable (though I'd have liked them a tad wider), so comfortable that I took then on a two-week trip to Ireland only a week or so after I bought them. On that trip I never had a problem--no blisters, no pain. I'm just hoping that New Balance expands the Aravon line. The shoes are much more attractive than the usual athletic shoe and much more comfortable than shoes of most other brands. (I do think New Balance might have supplied longer shoelaces. The laces were so short that they kept coming united and had to be replaced). I usually have to buy much more expensive European shoes if I want a good fit. So it was also good to find a relatively inexpensive shoe that works for me. As always, Zappos service was incomparable! Thanks, Zappos and New Balance.

Finding comfortable shoes is a problem for me because of my unusual shoe size (wide in front, normal width at heel, bunions, large half size) and several areas of foot pain. These shoes were very comfortable right out of the box and I have worn them daily since purchase. They are as comfortable as my most expensive oxford walking shoes, a Mephisto shoe that cost three times more. In fact, I think they fit me slightly better. Obviously they are not the most stylish shoes in the world, but actually look decent worn with long pants or jeans and look better to my taste than some other comfort oxfords I've tried such as SAS. I have the black nubuck which I suspect looks nicer than the smooth leather although I like the fit so much I may purchase both types. I like that these shoes do not have a prominent logo. All in all, a great shoe at a good price.

I purchased these shoes several weeks ago. They're very comfortable! They have felt great from the moment I put them on; no break-in period. I'm on my feet and running around most of the day in a medical laboratory. The insole looks like it's made of good stuff, but I popped them out and slipped in my custom orthotics. I was afraid the shoes would look kind of granny-ish, but I've gotten lots of compliments from my co-workers about how much they like my shoes.

I tried and returned 7 pairs of shoes before I found these. I teach first grade and spend all day on my feet on a concrete floor. I wore these shoes all day Friday and found myself walking extra steps because my feet were so comfortable. I put them on at 6:15 and took them off at 5:15 and my feet were not tired. I wore them again all day yesterday and am ordering a second pair in the nubuck (the first pair is the leather). My feet are wide in the front and narrow in the heel. These shoes support my feet in all the right places. They are not girlie shoes but in about 10 minutes of wearing, I forgot all about that. I love these shoes!

Ordered for my mom, who actually can walk very little, but needed wider shoes to keep working at it. She says they are very comfortable and leave room for her toes to move. They were comfortable even after she had them on sitting in a wheelchair most of the day

By far, these are one of the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned,in the same category as Mephisto but a bit more comfortable for the check book! The first pair I ordered was small, so maybe they run small; sometimes i am a 38, sometimes a 39, in these I needed a 39. If you are planning on doing a lot of walking, these are the shoes you want!

Let me begin by saying I had surgery and have a screw in my ankle. I was planning a trip to Paris and wanted comfortable walking shoes that didn\'t look like big white American sneakers. These were perfect. From the first time I wore them, they were comfortable and I didn\'t get blisters or sore feet. I tried an 8 1/2 wide and a 9 regular. I ended up with the 9. These shoes are worth the price.

Best shoe I've ever worn. Gives support in all the right places. True to size and width. I'm happier with the shoe than I thought I would be. I have major back trouble, and this shoe gives support right where I need it. I can be on my feet all day without pain due to the shoe.

This is more a review of Zappos than of this shoe. I received it on a Monday, it is a little too small (my fault), it seems like a very well-made and sturdy shoe, also good-looking, so i called Zappo\\\'s and told them i needed a larger size, this was late in the afternoon. The very next day the replacement shoes are at my house, i haven\\\'t even had a chance to box up the original pair. The customer service is not only speedy but it is extremely polite and professional. I just love shopping at Zappos, every online store should be this way.

Finally, a shoe that fits right out of the box. I wear a size 10.5, & B or D width. I tried the 'B' width, too narrow and very stiff. I searched Zappos looking for Aravon D width and found this. Zappos' ordering and returning system is the best on this planet, completely stress free. There are other shoe shippers out there, but none to match this company.

Disappointed that these are no longer available in nubuck . The photo appeared to be nubuck. That material made what is an ugly shoe more palatable . I already have what was sent, so have returned what would have been a duplicate pair.

Wanted something to wear with slacks that were not sneakers. I can wear my orthotics with these and they fit well. Good thing I'm not a fashionista, though, they are clunky and look very "industrial".

They fit my foot but the tongue and foot surround is way too stiff. It makes them extremely uncomfortable.

These are good sturdy shoes that seem as if they will hold up well. Good fit and comfortable for standing. The only downside is they are not the most attractive shoes in the closet! I might call them "industrial" looking. That said, they are fine for wearing with slacks or jeans.

Too narrow in the ball of the foot for me, but still slipped on my heel. Also not enough arch support. I liked the look of the shoe, though.

Attractive but runs short and not much cushion. I don't have foot problems and I wouldn't keep these.

I ordered this style a few years ago, and I haven't found any shoes more comfortable that I would wear to work. Gym shoes are not suitable for my work, though they'd possibly be more cushiony. I see other similar Aravons, but I haven't tried them. I just wanted more of this style because I have worn them daily for about 5 years and have been very satisfied. They're coming apart on the inside near the achilles, so I think I need a new pair. I get that they're not so beautiful or stylish. With slacks they're not bad looking. I wear thick orthotics, which are nicely accommodated in these. I have never had any problem with rubbing or seams. In all, I've been happy with these. I just ordered a pair in black and brown. The brown is a nice color, not ridiculously coppery or reddish.

This is a nice shoe but did not work for my feet. I think a larger size would have fit but I didn't care for the style enough to exchange for the next size.

I have bunions and beginnings of hammer toe but a relatively narrow heel. These shoes almost fit in wide and I liked the style and support for walking and gardening, but I ended up having to go with a men's wide. When will they start making women's shoes that are fashionable, but with a wide enough toe area?

Looking for something as comfortable but dressier than a black athletic shoe to wear to work with pants. This is not it. I have foot problems and work on my feet. The looked as pictured, nicer than an athletic shoe for sure. Not much cushion or support and ran narrower and shorter than my normal size. No extra room in toe box, heel fit well, although seemed low around heel. Very disappointed, I thought Aravon's would be amazingly comfortable but this style wasn't for me.

I was initially not happy with these and thought that I might have to send them back. But I needed shoes very much and wore them a little each day to see if I could get used to them. The main issue is that they are fairly straight in width from toe to heel. My feet are narrow at the heel and wide across ball of the foot. I have gotten used to the fit now. The only issue left is that the right one squeaks. They do seem to be well made, I just wish they were narrower at the heels.

If you have tiny Cinderella size feet these might work for you but on my 9.5 size feet the effect was more lumberjack. Comfort doesn't have to look like that. They go back.

I have been searching for a comfortable "black sneaker" for travel and walking. Everything I tried looked clunky and huge. I also didn't want the wild colors of athletic shoes, nor the giant heels. These shoes are just right! They feel great inside--I'll be able to do lots of walking in them! The style is well, just a little frumpy--I think the perforations in the side add to this. Wish I'd seen the Francesca's first. But anyway, when you have the shoes on and look straight down at them, they are fine looking--a simple, black lace up look, and my slacks cover those perforations, hah!
